    I see it as more as a CGI movie, like Shrek. I mean, do think they can pull Dragon's look in real life?

    Its possble given the CGI of today. Silver Surfer is another example of a full CGI character.

    I think it could be done in part live action, part CG.  That's the beauty of visual effects.  They could have an actor out for CG reference and vocals, but then put a character model on top of it.  That's what they did for Antubis in Kingdom Hospital and what they do quite a bit in the film industry.  Gotta love photo real VFX.
