Samus Aran Metroid Fusion Respect Thread Part 1

The thread assumes normal (similar to Earth's) gravity figures for Metroid's inhabited planets.

The respect thread has feats from other games as a frame of reference or due to their applicability to Samus’s abilities in Metroid Fusion.

Gameplay footage from normal mode was prioritized, as it seems to be the canon path, seeing as how Metroid: Other M's theater mode follows the normal mode.

For footage of Samus's actual combative skill, mostly cutscenes and Theater Mode footage were used, though the Theater Mode footage seems to be an abbreviated version of the battles it depicts.

Part 1 contains her accolades, reflex feats, visual capabilities, energy absorption, physical strength feats, and combative feats.

Part 2 contains her durability and firepower feats.

Accolades/Accomplishments:

“It seems that the word Metroid in the Chozo language can be roughly translated as “ultimate warrior.” With the introduction of Metroid DNA to her system, the reborn Samus Aran is perhaps the most appropriate successor to this title of ultimate warrior."

Samus may be considered to be a sort of ultimate warrior.

“Considered the greatest of all the bounty hunters, Samus had successfully completed numerous missions that others had thought impossible.”

“The space hunter chosen for this mission in Samus Aran. He is the greatest of all the space hunters and has successfully completed numerous missions that everybody thought were absolutely impossible. He is a cyborg: his entire body has been surgically strengthened with robotics, giving him superpowers. Even the space pirates fear his space suit, which can absorb any enemy’s power. But his true form is shrouded in mystery.”

“There are many unknown planets throughout the galaxy. Many of these are causes of concern to the Galactic Federation. To take care of this, they employ Space Hunters, the greatest of which is Samus Aran.”

From Metroid II—Instruction Booklet

Samus is the greatest of the bounty hunters.

“Some time later, gifted bounty hunter Samus Aran was dispatched alone to engage the Zebesian Space Pirates who abducted the Metroid specimen for use as a weapon.”

Pirate Data: The Hunter

Logbook entry

“Security Command issued an all-points alert after the fall of Zebes. The alert concerns bioform Samus Aran, also known as the Hunter. Subject is a female hominid, and is heavily armed and extremely dangerous. Subject uses a powered armor suit of unknown design in battle, along with a number of potent Beam and concussive weapons. All combat units are instructed to terminate Aran on sight, preferably in a fashion that will allow salvage of her powered armorsuit and weapons. A considerable bounty will go to the unit who delivers Aran to Command. Dead or alive, it matters not.”

The Space Pirates considered Samus a significant threat to their operations and her weapon systems to be very powerful.

“Trained as a warrior and infused with Chozo blood, Samus Aran donned a Chozo-made Power Suit and cut a swath through the Space Pirates’ operation, destroying everything in her path, including the gargantuan mainstays of the Space Pirate army, Ridley and Kraid. She eventually made it to the core of their base, destroyed all the Metroids she saw, and seemingly blew up the Mother Brain.”

Energy Absorption:

“Since receiving the Metroid vaccine, Samus has begun to incorporate some properties of Metroids into her own genetic makeup. This allows her to absorb X parasites in their gelatinous form to replenish her supply of energy and missiles.”

“However, the Metroid vaccine, which was used to treat her, radically affected her physical makeup, giving her the ability of a Metroid to resist the X parasites. In effect, she was reborn as the ultimate X parasite predator.”

Samus can absorb X parasites.

“The other method for reclaiming lost abilities is to absorb a mega-sized X parasite known as a Core-X.”

Samus can recover abilities by absorbing a Core-X.

“In a further twist, Samus’s life was saved by an injection of an experimental vaccine containing Metroid DNA. As the inheritor of the Metroids’ powers, Samus becomes the only being capable of opposing the X parasite horde.”

“When an enemy is destroyed, an energy ball is sometimes given off. If this energy ball is captured, Samus’ energy is increased, but his energy cannot increase beyond 99 without extra energy tanks.”
