Dude, You Don't Steer A Rocketship, You Ride It.
The Story So Far
Marko, Alana, Hazel, and Izabel get to the rocketship. In order to be granted access they need to give an offering. Marko offers his sword that has been in the family for generations. The Will finds out about the Stalks death and informs Prince Robot IV that he will be coming to kill him and his loved ones. PR4 deduces where Alana and company might be going next. While in space our beloved family is attacked as a result of Marko destroying his sword.
Something about the synopsis' for this story don't ever seem to do the book justice.
Hit
Let us begin with the art. This a beautiful book. Something about the coloring in this book is just so pleasing. There are a couple of panels that really stand out here. And Staples does a great job with showing emotions through the characters faces. This may be my second favorite cover. Not just because of how it looks but also how it relates to the story. So slick.
The story continues to do a great job of giving all the characters the appropriate amount of page time. I felt that all of the scenes were relevant and that no one was short changed. You really feel involved with the characters and genuinely care about happens next. The dialogue is fantastic and really helps this book stand out. It reads natural and not forced. The humor in this book is also great. Vaughan really has come up with a fantastic universe here.
