Who has time to read anymore?

Saga #1 was a great issue. It set a lot up even to point it was a little overwhelming. Keep in mind you need to learn about a whole new universe and the main players. I was honesty a little concerned about the second issue and what it had to live up to.

Brian K. Vaughan has mention before that it took him a long, long time to write the first issue of Y: The Last Man. The first issue of a comic has to set up the tone and the basic story for the entire series not to mention that the comic book industry is not what it used to be and comics can start off a little slow and get cancelled before they really start to get good.

This is not going to be a problem for Saga. It's good. I thought the main characters might devolve into Yorick and Agent 355 at some point but they remain unique, different characters for Vaugh. The other characters are interesting too. The army and merc vibe makes the dialog interesting. I like assassins being refereed to as "pros". I feel cool saying words like that in my head and that makes it more enjoyable.

The art is very nice. I actually didn't think Fiona Staples could stick to a once a month schedule considering the work that she puts into this comic. She continues to impress.

I like where Saga is headed. If the second issue is any sign of how the rest of the series will be I think I'll be very satisfied and it is beginning to be one of the comics I look forward to reading each month. Saga!

Issue #1 of Saga introduced us to this space opera setting, torn by war, with a variety of imaginative and colorful concepts and ideas, and issue #2 continues that trend, leaving the reader eager to turn each page to see what wonders await. I wouldn’t say Saga is revolutionary, it’s just very very very well done. The medium is not being used in any new ways, but the original ideas and fantastic setting make it fee...

I wasn't sure if Brian K. Vaughan would disappoint with issue #`2. Too often I've come across the rare good issue #1 that failed to deliver on the rest of the series. Saga #2, however, continues with the same great sense of humor. The characters all seem to speak like normal people even when they're in the most abnormal of circumstances. BKV also continues to humorously mash up our world with his sci-fi/fantasy world. Case in point: assassin's have agents. All too often we have assassin's in wor...
