    ROM...was AWESOME!!!!! A fav of mine, as a kid...

    He duped Galactus into sparing his home world of Galador, by proposing that he (Rom) become his herald instead.

    Writer Bill Mantlo at his best, early in this series, and a comic book that was EONS better than the actual TOY it was created from...

    No, not even temporarily. He agreed to lead Galactus to a specific planet. He never got empowered by Galactus, and he wasn't accorded Herald status.
