High Expectations can Come Crashing Down.

I expected way too much from this issue. I was hoping for a heart felt issue of Bruce and Damian's relationship as father and son but what I got instead was just a recap of what happened since the time Damian was introduced till his dying day, fallowed by an all out war with the New Gods of Apokolips. Though I did enjoy how action packed this issue was as the issue before, I felt it came up a bit empty. Batman finally dealt with the stages of grievance towards his only legitimate son only to be thrown back into the hopes of bringing back Damian once again. I like seeing what direction this arc is taking but I'm really hoping they don't bring back Damian but if they do then I can only hope that he will no longer be under the title of Robin and the next to replace him will be someone different. Andy Kubert's art work is in my opinion one of the best I've seen and Peter J. Tomasi is an author of great ability but I hyped the issue too much in my mind to enjoy it for what it was. So with that being said I have too give this issue a 4/5 instead of the 3/5 I was considering.

A Recap And Some Chaos! 0

This book did two things really well.Number 1: The recap of Damian's story over the years was a very nice touch and very cool to see how everything fits into the the wonky New 52 timeline. I genuinely enjoyed the first half recap in this book. Excellent touch and really shows the evolution of the Damian and Bruce relationship.Number 2: Chaos! A really well done large scale battle. Unlikely allies, some revelations, and parademons. You can't ask for much more than that in a big battle in the DCU....

Robin is dead, but not for long! 0

Prelude issue, Batman & Robin #32. Robin Rises begins NOW! Written by Peter J. Tomasi with artwork by Andy Kubert. The GoodOh great, the FEELS are coming back. Wow, that recap! Tomasi summarized Damian's life in only 8 pages, he hit the hotspots to make sure everyone who reads this series will know what is going on. I was greatly impressed how much he made the recap feel important, and relevant, to the story at hand. (Which it is important.) Batman was narrating the entire recap, so it made i...
