Brief History

Jerome Johnson served in the United States Army with John Walker. When Walker became the Super-Patriot, Johnson became one of his Bold Urban Commandos, or "Buckies." When Steve Rogers, the original Captain America, decided to give up his identity rather than blindly serving the government, Walker was given the mantle. Due to a suspect criminal background check only Walker and fellow B.U.C. Lemar Hoskins were chosen to enter the service. Johnson and the other remaining B.U.C, Hector Lennox, were cut out. This created tremendous bitterness and resentment against their former partners.

After being left in the cold, Johnson and Lennox adopted the identities of the Left-Winger and Right-Winger. In an act of revenge they exposed Walker's identity to the media during a nationally televised press conference. They hoped to ruin his new "career" however, their actions had grave consequences that they never intended.

With his secret out, Walker's parents were soon kidnapped by the Watchdogs, a suppressive paramilitary group. The Walkers were gunned down right in front of the new Captain America, causing his already fragile psyche to shatter.

Blind with rage, Walker sought out vengeance against his former partners. He confronted the Left and Right Wingers in a oil refinery and quickly beat the two men to an inch of their lives. Walker then crossed the line when he chained the two to an oil tanker and left one of their "plasma torches" burning against it's hull. The tanker exploded and Johnson died of the severe burns and injuries he sustained. His partner survived the explosion but was left seriously burnt and ended up taking his own life.

Immortus would battle the West Coast Avengers and transport them to his personal Limbo where he summoned the Legion of the Unliving which included Right-Winger, Left-Winger, Grim Reaper, Swordsman, Arno Stark, Black Knight, Toro, and Oort, the Living Comet as his personal soldiers. Right-Winger and Left-Winger went after their old friend, John Walker as the US Agent. Right-Winger and Left-Winger grabbed a sharp stalagmite and they charged the US Agent from each side. Walker threw his shield onto the ground, causing Left-Winger to slip and he ended up impaling Right-Winger through the chest.

Right-Winger was created by Mark Gruenwald and Paul Neary in 1986 and first appeared in Captain America #323.

Powers & Abilities

Johnson began his career as a wrestler in the Unlimited Class League after receiving super strength from the Power Broker. Through the treatment, he received enhanced strength on par with Spider-Man. The Left and Right Wingers also used knife-like plasma torches as offensive weapon.
