    Richard Starkings is a British writer and editor.

    He started in the business of the publishing industry within the Marvel UK in London. Transferred to California in 1989, he founded Comicraft with John Roschell , with whom he innovated the art of lettering and the design in the comics. He is an industry pioneer that introduced in the nineties the lettering on the computer.

    The two authors explained it in detail in the book Comic Book Lettering The Comicraft Way, which has become a reference text in the field.

    At the end of the nineties Starking created the character of Hip Flask as a mascot for the line of comics Comicraft.
