    What we know of Professor Rick Payne is mostly from the CBS show. Professor Payne does make an introduction in issue 1 of the new GW comic book series.

    He is an expert in all religions and mythologies. Melinda turns to him often to get proper iconic translations of symbols, visions, dreams and languages. Rick helps her figure out what a soul's unfinished business might be which tethers it to the earthly plane.
