Rex Mason career started in comic art when he took over the drawing of the Tarzan newspaper strip in 1929, during the 30’s most of his output was for interior art in the Pulp’s, particularly the “Spicy” pulps.
He went to work in the comic book industry in the 40’s working for Avon, Better, Marvel, Trojan, and Dell.
During the 50’s and early 60’s most of his work appeared in Dell comics where he co-created such features as Turok, Dinosauria, Young Earth, Young Hawk, and Track Hunter.
He ended his career in comics in 1969 when he and his wife moved to England and he took up landscape painting.
He died at the age of eighty-one on November 25, 1973.
