Let the assassination games begin
What's Good?
We're now going back to Scarab, the assassin who tried to kill Tim a couple of issues ago. Apparently, there is another Scarab, who's out to kill Lucius Fox. If there's one thing I appreciate about this issue is the team-up with Dick and Tim. These two work so well together. I also enjoyed Tim's playfulness when he was with Scarab. It reminded me when Tim used to be Robin. The twist at the end was unexpected. Scarab is a character that hasn't really been explored despite being in the Robin series, so this story could open up some more about Scarab.
Marcus To returns as the artist after being away thanks to the Judgment of Gotham crossover. His work is still superb to look at. I would love to see him do more spreads, cause the page with Red Robin and Lynx is just awesome.
What's Bad?
When looking at both the cover and the summary of this issue, I didn't know what to expect in this issue other than something to do with Scarab (and apparently with Red Robin holding two pistols). After reading this issue, I still don't know what to expect. Everything about this story feels disjointed. The beginning starts off very slow. I found it weird that Lynx is speaking in broken English compared to the last time I saw her. I know that Lucius Fox is not dead, and even if he was, the situation is not really believable. First we we're talking about the Council of Spiders, now it's about Scarab and something to do with an assassination tournament?
Overall: It's a very slow start for this arc, but I'm sure it will pick up later on.
