Strange but fun
Scott Lobdell has a very strange way of writing, I have to say. It's almost as if he thinks we know everything that's going on and why people are doing things without having to back it up or justify it or lead us into it. And so it is here as the gang launch into the next step on their journey. Don't get me wrong, this is fun, and the art is sensational, except for a very awkward final page. But the dialog just jumps in with characters talking in half-sentences, talking about things but missing off the first half (or more) of a real explanation of what's going on. Yes it's not realistic to expect too much talking because people don't talk about what they're doing while they're at it, but this comic comes off a bit odd for it.
So I still don't know if I like Jason, and I still don't know if I buy these three being friends for real (again I say: why?). Flesh it out more, Scott and we'll see.
