    Origin

    Rayshaun was a young boy whom watched the arrest of black superhero Rage, and Sam Wilson's struggle with the U.S. government while being Captain America. At a certain point, Rayshaun decided to take matters into his own hands. He painted his face as the mask of the arrested superhero Rage and acted out in violence.

    Creation

    Rayshaun Lucas was created by Nick Spencer and Daniel Acuna and first appeared (unnamed in a cameo) in Captain America: Sam Wilson #18 (2017). He first appeared as the new Patriot in the pages of Secret Empire: Brave New World issue 2.
