@professorrespect: You could add that those infected by the virus, get massively nerfed in power, if they try to resist it. Nova for example, was extremely weakened when he was infected, and the virus is also the entire reason Cable is a street leveler instead of a high tier like all the other mutants in his family.

It's flat-out part of the same overall story-run, they just split it into other comics because DC and Marvel like to be confusing like that.

If you skip it and go from Issue 3 straight to 4 you'll be very confused as to how everyone got from point A to point B and where certain characters came from.

Oh yea, you'll also want to read Wonder Woman Witching Hour, which takes place between JLD issue 3 and 4.
