Every word that The Dread Pirate spoke… was true. Since the death of Ziccarra the Cardinal faith has been at an all time low, and since Chance's death there has been no Matriarch. There has been no one to rule what is left of the family, the family that Zeon had been seeking to destroy herself. Perhaps she wasn’t thinking all of this through. But she didn’t need an entire family to keep Cardinal Hell thriving. She just needed one, single, Liafador to sit upon the family throne and lure people to the Cardinal Faith. One Liafador she could manipulate.
“I am aware of this minor set back.” Zeon spoke, her eyes never wavering away from Faatina standing tall in all her pride. Her youngest brother was holding down the White Cardinals and still bringing people into the White Cardinal ways but it was only a bandaid on a wound that needed surgical care. She would not dare ask him to be Patriarch, because once that happened, the few males of the family would rule the family and that was NOT an option.
“The Cardinal Faith will not die so long as someone is willing to take the role of Matriarch.” Zeon couldn’t be Matriarch again and since Chance's death she completed her run a Matriarch. So-so and Mari were never taught the Cardinal faith and neither would ever agree to do it if it’s Zeon coming to them. Hmmm perhaps Mari… if she was told it could help bring her mother back… no… Catalina was too soft on her. She wouldn’t do what it would take. Her brother Cadamus was trained in the ways of the White Cardinals but it was uncertain if he followed the faith of the Cardinals.
But… there was one person who could be lured into becoming the next Matriarch. A single Liafador who since birth was told one day she would become Matriarch of the family. The only problem… she was not on Earth. But as long as her brother could maintain his White Cardinals, the Cardinal Faith would survive until the prodigy would return home. "And there is one."
"Trust me, child, I don't need to be your enemy. I can be the aunt you longed for. Teach you, mold you. Set you on your own path. Am I correct to believe that you sold your soul to Ramon? What do you think happens when the Cardinal faith dies? Where do you think their souls will go?”
“Well I assume I would end up on this lovely vessel and be crewmates with my cousin.” She looked towards the door where her cousin vanished into. While Zeon's own soul was owned by Ramon, she was still free to do her own will. Where as Catalina, which she saw first hand, had no control over her own body. That was not something appealing to Zeon. Her eyes snapped back to The Captain of the ship. “I did not yield to your sister, nor to my father, nor my sister and I will not yield to you. You are not the first to threaten my life and you will not be the last. If you seek a Liafador to surrender themselves to you, I am not the one you seek. But if you're looking for Liafador to help you being destruction and death... I am the one you need.”
