Tutaminis/Force Deflection

Tutaminis is a power that enables a Force user to absorb the energy of enemy attacks with his or her hands.

While mortally wounded, Poof used his remaining strength to contain the power of an ancient artifact, the Infant of Shaa, binding the idol's Force energies together once again. In fairness, however, the following quotes are referring to the destruction the artifact's explosion would cause, so the most likely interpretation is that he prevented the explosion itself from happening, meaning he simply absorbed enough energy to defuse the artifact before it could cause any major damage:
