With the Cyttorak's powers on top of his own he sure as hell can.

I use the shield as a defensive weapon and then I choose the adrenaline needle as my offensive weapon. Hell, worst case scenario I get stabbed with my own adrenaline shot and assuming he doesn't know what's in the needle, I pull a Forrest Gump and live to fight another day.

I do not think so. The act of wrapping your arms around someone and squeezing tightly still still produces kinetic energy, which in turn strengthens Shaw. The question is, can Shaw become strong enough to break free from Creel's grip before he runs out of air? I say yes, seeing as Shaw always has his goons/underlings pummel him in his spare time.
