Well, for whatever(unexplained, as far as I know) reason he was functioning like a full blown telepath(had Elasti Girl nearly decapitate Beast Boy, had Dr. Psycho clutching his head in pain after Mad Hatter interfered with Psycho's attempt to have Deadshot shoot Catman, and physically outfought him AFTER getting stabbed in the back, literally, by Cheshire).
