Awesome Artists Pics: X-Men & X-Girls By Kevin Wada & Max Wittert

Each week G-Man, Babs & the rest of the Comic Vine Staff scour the internet for the best fan art that comic book artists have poured onto the internet. In a twist on that theme, I thought I'd share some 'Awesome Art Picks' from a couple of non-published artists that I stumbled across today.
Comic Con's Alternative Press Expo ("APE") was held last weekend. Many artists unpublished artists attend APE for a chance to show off their talent. Especially for the occasion, Kevin Wada & Max Wittert created a series of "X-Girls" in fashionable new threads and posing like models. They picked out 8 famous ladies from the X-Men (or their villains), and drew 4 each as if they were featured on the cover of a magazine.

A mixture of bad girls pucker up & pose. In alphabetical order they are:
- Emma Frost, former White Queen of the Hellfire Club;
- Jean Grey, long ago believed to be the Dark Phoenix who consumed an entire galaxy;
- Lady Deathstrike, cybernetically enhanced former flame of Wolverine with a killer manicure; and
- Mystique, blue-skinned metamorph who has worked both for and against the X-Men.
Max Wittert
Rounding off the collection are four ladies who enjoyed the Australian sun in the 1980's who have all undergone many changes in their lives:
- Jubilee, the former Mall Rat, former sidekick, former mutant, always feisty;
- Psylocke, the former fashion model who was British born & now inhabits a Japanese ninja's body;
- Rogue, the former member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Ms Marvel's nemesis, and Dazzler's rival for Longshot's affections; and
- Storm, the former street-thief-turned-African weather Goddess, now an African Queen, always an X-Woman. Please excuse Storm's free-spirited nature, normally we'd avoid such brazen abandonment of the brassiere (please be assured that the Staff are "fine with that since it's not really exploitive").
These eight were sold as postcards worth $1 each, or $7 for all 8. What an absolute BARGAIN!
