I'm trying to come up with a good character. I really love Space Warp Generation as a super power, but I'm afraid it's too overused (especially with the video game "Portal" out). Could you guys read my short bio and tell me if it's too cliche or too "not original"?
"In an alternate timeline, a brilliant scientist named Conner Beck (a relative to Mysterio) had perfected a revolutionary technology called RC-Tech (Re-Creation Technology). This allowed him to digitize objects and remake them by rearranging the objects sub-atomic structure. Wanting to preserve his power, Conner sent several RC-Tech Units throughout multiple timelines in hopes that the vessels would come across his counterparts and activate. The process would remake them with superhuman physiology and one "special ability", based on which unit one would get.
"A younger incarnation of Conner Beck in the mainstream universe received one of the vessels and was entrapped in a spherical force field, remade with the designated programming, gaining space warp generation. Using his new abilities, he was a by-the-book hero for a time, until he came across one of the scenes in which the antihero known as Venom was battling. Witnessing the capabilities of the Venom Symbiote, Conner became fascinated with its powers and decided that one of his sole missions was to acquire a suit similar to the one that Venom possessed.
"Joining a young hero team called The Youth, Conner became head in scientific development and acquired the code name Unit, so to remember the origin of his abilities (the RC-Tech Unit). Of course, Unit had ulterior motives than to help The Youth's endeavors; he wanted to acquire a sample of the Venom Symbiote.
"After some time working with The Youth, Conner had made several jumps in both Genetics and Quantum Mechanics. When he received word from The Youth that their next mission involved Venom, Conner took the opportunity to sample him. Now in possession of the sample, Unit purified the specimen from years of abuse and poisoning from previous hosts, then used it as cloning material. After, Unit induced evolution to recreate the lesser known Neo-Symbiote created years prior by the super-heroine, Scorpion.
"Unit merged with the new symbiote and became Breakdown. With control over both space warps and the symbiote, Breakdown became a solo hero for a time in order to cope with the new feelings and experience that the symbiote opened up to him. Eventually, Breakdown had tamed the creature and returned to The Youth for new and darker motivations that have yet to be known."
