I can't wait. Larroca is one of my favorite artists, and Matt Fraction seems to have a great handle on the character. I also like that this series will focus more on Iron Man as a superhero while the other title will continue the espionage/spy thriller angle with Stark as Director of SHIELD.
It's funny that you dislike that armor because it doesn't have gold (although it still had red), yet you like the war machine armor which doesn't have either of those two traditional colors. I do agree about the importance of the color scheme however, but I still liked the design of the silver centurion armor nonetheless. I think it fit that time in the 80's really well, even if it looks dated now.
You raise a good point about the differences in the depiction of armors by different artists, but I think that was less of an issue in the past than it has been lately. Post Edited:2008-02-07 15:15:03
Which is yours? I think mine has to be the neo-classic armor Iron Man wore after the first armor wars. When I started reading the series (during the John Byrne/John Romita Jr. run) that was his armor, so it formed my first impression of the character and I've loved it ever since. I also really like the silver centurion armor (despite how dated it looks now), the post-extremis armor, and the ablative armor he wore just prior to that.
Those are the World War Hulk tie-ins and will probably be included in tpb's under the World War Hulk banner of (get it? Banner? Oh jeez). Anyway, once the World War Hulk trades start coming out look at the description to see which (if any) includes those Iron Man tie-ins. I don't think those issues will be included in any solo Iron Man tpb's, but there could be a World War Hulk: Iron Man trade down the line just as there was a Civil War: Iron Man trade that collected the two Civil War tie-in issues in Iron Man (13 and 14 I think). That book included other material though. You won't see a World War Hulk: Iron Man trade for just two issues. They will only put it out there if they can package those issues with something more.
I'm having trouble editing a couple pages. For instance, when I make submissions to the Masamune Shirow page I get the points for it but my submissions never show up afterwards. This happened to me before with the Wendy Pini page, and only seems to happen on creator/artist pages.
I have tried using a variety of web browsers (IE, Firefox, Opera) thinking the problem was on my end, and still nothing.
The solicitations for Astonishing X-Men #24 say "one will not return" and all the members of the Astonishing team are present in Messiah CompleX except for Shadowcat. Messiah CompleX presumably takes place after the current story arc (Unstoppable) in Astonishing, so does that mean that Kitty Pryde is the one who "does not return?" And if so, does anyone think it could be that she dies?
