Batman and Geoff Johns? Yes please! 0

This is a really cool, brand-new take on Batman's origin story. Although it's technically set in a different dimension, even casual fans will know most of the characters, and be able to follow the story easily. That being said, I want to warn parents that this book isn't meant for kids. There are several curse words and sexual insinuations used, and the entire story is set in a very violent, dark Gotham City. That darkness lends well to the story, because this book is all about the war between g...

Amazing, Again 0

What can I say about this series that hasn't been said? It's fantastic. Scott Snyder has been doing an amazing job with this title, and I can't say enough about how much I love the Court of Owls concept.I'm not even going to bother doing the Pros/Cons thing, because I already know I can't think of anything wrong with this issue. The story is great, the art is great (fitting in a Gothic way), the dialogue is great...yeah, pretty much everything is fantastic. This particular issue is especially ex...

DC + Animation = Hooray!! 0

I really enjoy these DC animated films. They manage to capture a great story in a short time. This one includes a lot of my favorite heroes, and features Vandal Savage as the villain.Pros: The voice-acting was really good, and it fit each character well. Additionally, all of the characters were themselves, or at least as I've come to know them. I loved the story; it's well thought-out, and manages to give Batman the spotlight, which is a big plus for me. Also, it's very family friendly, even mor...

Twice the Awesomeness 0

I was really excited to pick up this issue, and I definitely wasn't disappointed. It starts out with a bang, and continues to be exciting all the way through. The story was pretty amazing considering that it's only the first issue, and I loved the artwork. I know a lot of people hate the idea of multiple earths, but this just felt right. My one concern is how the story can be continuedSPOILER WARNING: Click here to reveal hidden content.when Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are dead, and Huntre...

New World, New Costume 0

I was excited about this issue, and it lived up to my expectations. I love Power Girl and Huntress (I was very happy about Power Girl's costume change. Now, maybe she can be taken seriously), and I expect great things from this title. The story was good, and the art style fit in really well with the story, allowing the whole thing to flow without feeling disjointed. I especially enjoyed the chemistry between Power Girl and Huntress. They're two very different characters, but the dialogue between...

Starring the Unknown Soldier... 0

J.T. Krul, Justin Gray, Jimmy PalmiottiI sort of have to review this issue in two parts. The first part, G.I. Combat, was reminiscent of the Men of War title. However, I enjoyed it more than MoW because of the way it flowed. Where MoW was a little confusing at times, G.I. Combat is clear, natural, and fast-paced. I didn't like the style of art, but other than that I really enjoyed this issue, and was pleasantly surprised. The second part, the Unknown Soldier, is really the selling point for this ...

Best Marvel Movie! 0

Believe the hype! This movie was amazing all the way through. It's definitely one of the top superhero movies ever made. In fact, I'd only put the Dark Knight above it.Pros: This is a super-clean movie that the whole family can enjoy. It's also a movie that even the most strict comic book fan can watch without flinching. Every character feels natural, and stays true to their comic book portrayals. Additionally, their interactions with each other were spot-on. The plot was good; exciting without ...

Best Marvel Movie Yet? Maybe. 0

First of all, I want to say that this movie might just be the best Marvel movie ever.  I won't give away the entire story; I'll just tell you that it's very simple, refreshing, good-guy vs. bad-guy.  The actors did a good job overall, and I felt that it was a great way to introduce non-comic-nerds to Captain America. I hardly have any cons to list this time!  The bad language was pretty non-intrusive.  Cap. kissed a girl he'd never met, and Mr. Stark made several immoral references (like father,...

Not exactly Dark Knight, but still great! 0

OK, I just got back from Green Lantern, and want to review it before I forget anything.  This is not the best movie done by DC, but it's in the top two or three (who can beat The Dark Knight?).  So, to break it down...  PROS: This movie really introduced the non-comic-book-fan to Hal Jordan, the Guardians, the Corps, Sinestro, and the the Yellow Light.  I enjoyed seeing all the villains tied together by the Yellow Light; they weren't  just completely separate entities.  I mostly enjoyed the port...

Enter: War Machine 2

Okay, let me start out by saying that I did not enjoy this movie as much as the first one.  That said, I still really liked it.  I loved how they really incorporated War Machine into everything, Whiplash was awesome, and it was cool to see Black Widow join the cast.   Also, I only recently "discovered" Justin Hammer, so it was interesting to see him in there too.  As far as acting goes, I thought most of the actors did well.  Mickey Rourke did a fantastic job as Whiplash, Robert Downey Jr. did w...

My Favorite 2

Okay, let me start off by saying that this is probably my favorite movie ever.   Batman is my favorite hero, and I'm glad he finally got a good movie.  Christian Bale makes a better Bruce Wayne than Batman, but I don't think anyone could be what we all think of as Batman.  The Batman armor didn't quite look like I've always imagined it, but I'm not sure what I've imagined is humanly possible to copy.  I loved how Heath Ledger played Joker.  They definitely got him right; he's a homicidal maniac....

Loved It! 0

I really enjoyed this movie a lot.  Batman is my favorite DC Comics character, and Lex Luthor is one of my favorite bad guys.  I enjoyed seeing some of the lesser-known characters too, like the new Toyman.   SPOILER WARNING: Click here to reveal hidden content. Lex Luthor becoming President is a great plot; you can always count on Lex to be a real bad guy.  The reformation is never real. I liked this movie better than the previous ones (Green Lantern: First Flight, etc.).  There was some bad ...

X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2

I liked this movie because it's about Wolverine, one of my favorite superheroes.   I've wanted to watch it for a long time, and I finally got the chance a couple of weeks ago.   It's a great movie!   Hugh Jackman is a very convincing Wolverine, and they did a good job with his claws.   The plot was exciting and memorable, and it really told the story pretty well.   The characters were interesting; I didn't think Ryan Reynolds would make a good Deadpool at first, but he did a great job, and altho...
