Physical Characteristics
As a member of the family of the Endless, Dream is actually an abstract entity; he's a wave-function, a motif, a pattern, an echo in the darkness. He is not a physical being:
Dream and his family are consistently referenced as immortals; they have no true "end" nor any true "beginning" they simply are eternal:
Dream is unphased by a knife piercing his skin:
Morpheus no-sells lasers:
Dream no-sells an attack powerful enough to disperse fabric and matter:
Dream feels the pain of a universe coming into existance(note that the writer of Sandman uses the term "universe" synonymously with multiverse and creation, thus this can easily exceed a universal durability feat):

Dream Manipulation and Telepathy
Morpheus, as Dream of the Endless, has power over the dreams of all living beings. He can use this power to put people to sleep and influence their dreams:
Dream is the ruler of the Dreaming, the realm of dreams and thus he is the lord of Dreams and Nightmares:
It's noted that Allah(the person is Muslim, so he's actually referring to Yahweh) gave Morpheus dominion over all that was not, is not and will never be:
Dream can use these dreams to travel across Creation:
Dream is the one who shapes his realm and without him it decays, implying the Dreaming is dependant on his power:

Morpheus appears differently depending on your perception: he appears as L'Zoril to Martian Manhunter:

Morpheus' mere presence influences the Dreaming, as does his mood. Delirium implies that if it's raining in the Dreamworld, then Dream must be upset:

The Power Of Dream
As one of the Endless, Dream is a manifestation of one of the primal truths of the universe and looks over one of the aspects of reality:
Dream intimidates John Constantine:
The Sandman laughs at a threat from an army of advanced space-insects, and scares them away with his laughter:
Dream, despite lacking a significant portion of his power and being at an environmental disadvantage, stomps a Demon Lord meant to guard the gates of Hell:
Morpheus easily stomps Glob and Brute, banishing them to the darkness:
As he leaves Hell, no Demon Lord dares stand in his way:
Dream, like his family, is Endless:
Morpheus' mere name holds power:

Dream giving a portion of his power to his gatekeepers would allow them to kill/destroy his visitors(in the context of this scan, his visitors are the Gods of Asgard, the Gods of Egypt, the manifestation of Order and the manifestation of Chaos):
Dream easily stomps Azazel, one of the rulers of Hell alongside Beezlebub and Lucifer Morningstar, frightening several Gods in the process:
Morpheus is not intimidated by the Princess of Chaos, the very manifestation of Chaos(i.e. the being the Lords of Chaos -- beings more powerful than the Phantom Stranger and rivals of the likes of Nabu -- draw their powers from):
