Glad to see this AWESOME figure get an awesome review, great review by the way! Everything you've said about it hit the nail on the head, the detail is fantastic, the helmet doesn't bother me because it reminds me of the design in the Avengers Assemble & a nod to the classic. And also, I may or may not have done the same thing with the mini-Ant-Man & his flying ant steed!! lol IMO this is one of the best ML to date, the figure itself is great, but the mini-figs gives you more bang for your buck- I mean you get Ant-Man that can sit upon his flying steed & even a mini version of the film's villain! If they made more ML with accessories I'd buy more of them! (Though I did get Hank as Giant-Man & Wasp, couldn't resist, will you be reviewing them soon? They're cool but not as cool as Scott's figure.) Also, did you guys know about the Wal-Green's Eric O'Grady Black Ant exclusive? I managed to pick that one up & I think it's pretty cool & worth a review; with my MU Yellowjacket & Ant-Man I have a Pym legacy thing going lol These figs sold out fast where I lived too, villains included. Never thought they'd make all this cool Ant-Man merchandise, glad they are though, good time to be a fan of the lil' guys!!

Leaving the theater with a BIG SMILE it's guaranteed, Ant-Man brings a new feeling but with the usual Marvel Studios mechanics, it was a great fun experience (watch it in 3D if possible), and the end credits scenes in the current Mcu context are spectacular...

I'm so glad to know that brother, I can't wait!! :D

Awesome!!! Is Ant-Man's time in the sun. I hope they announce his Disney Infinity figure early.

Me too man! Finally the little guys are getting well-deserved respect! As a Pym/Lang fan I never imagined there'd be all this awesome merchandise!

Loving this creepy series

That creepy weirdness factor is what keeps me coming back for more too- it makes it truly stand out among the other books Marvel has out IMO. Plus MK has always been one of my guys, an underdog, so it's away to see him shine so to speak...in a creepy, enigmatic light that is!

@winter_kills: With a supernatural, mystical and mystery genre, I think it will be a great hit bro!

For real...MK was born to be Netflix'd!! DD, Cage, IF, Punisher, Elektra, & MK, if they all had shows at the same time, oh man!!

I can see the violence..the beautiful violence LOL

Deodato is a great fit for a cyberpunk style series also hey look at you Bendis actually writing Drax in character for a change.

Deodato is awesome, no lie. And you're right about Drax, this is the best Bendis has done with Drax, actually getting him in-character...maybe that's a good sign for the book.

@captainhoopla said:

I love Deodatos' art. Definitely getting this first issue and crossing my fingers for Bendis to come through.

@winter_kills any thoughts? I like the art.

I LOVE the art, bro. Deodato's art is gorgeous, always has been, Drax looks like a bada55, Angela looks like I epect her to, a sexy angelic warrior- Knowhere looks awesome, cyberpunky yet sci-fi, & the fight scenes look awesome..&, like jonny said above, Drax is actually in character under Bendis' pen for once. If Bendis can get past the Bendisisms that made his run on GOTG problematic, & write characters in-character the way he's doing with Drax, then the book can be great. The beautiful art definitely isn't in question, just the writing. Worth looking at for the art alone though. C'mon Benids, you can do it...you did an awesome run on DD; I know this & DD is totally different, but man, channel some of that awesomeness back so we can get a great cosmic book! His run with GOTG & Avengers makes me super-skeptical, can't help it...but that art tho...

Marvel Editorial is to arrogant to care for the fans, actually their current strategy is antagonize the fans, so it's Marguerite Bennett who reads our Thread?

"Marvel comics current editorial is so used to bully the readers to create controversy and sell without good stories, that they don't even try to hide how ridiculous they are, even i could come up with a new title"...

A title change? Angela: Queen of Hel? Brother, this is exactly what I stated earlier in this thread I DIDN'T want, & I know you don't either. I don't like the idea of Hela being displaced, & Angela ruling Hel? There's so much to do with the character to go in that direction, for her to be queen of anything really. If they wanted to couldn't they have temporarily called it "Angela: Hel's Fury" or something like that, at least until she fought to free Saren's soul? Her being queen of Hel...just feels like a derailment. Too soon to tell what's going on, I know, & I know you can't tell a book by it's cover, but I sincerely hope the book isn't going in that direction. I can guarantee that wouldn't be the direction Gillen wanted to go, because Gillen used Hela ALOT & had her as a key element in many stories, which I loved. But, I'm going to keep the same stance- if you guys say it is good, I trust your judgments & will try it myself. Right now it's on the wait-&-see list, though I wish I could say different, it's hard to be sure of anything with Marvel's new direction.

@winter_kills: It's hard for me to be completely objective but there are reasons to pick it up and to not. The first issue sets up some interesting situations but then goes in a completely different direction. Nick Spencer takes the idea of Scott's family and runs with that as the main focus of the book. If you like a good heartfelt story, this is for you. I know there were some complaints about Cassie's age but they acknowledge that I believe. I'd say it's worth it at least to read the first issue and see if you're interested.

I'm also glad to see Rage of Ultron is in continuity... Old continuity. I just wanted an answer on that and I'm hoping we get something interesting out of it considering I don't believe we've seen the last of Hank.

I'll definitely pick up the first & see if it fits my tastes, thanks so much for your take on it, it really feels honest & I appreciate that. I do love that Cassie is back, & I loved Scott being one of the few heroes to be a parent, & their relationship & how being a good dad, and the kind of man, the kind of hero he wants his daughter to be able to look up to is a very realistic motivation; I too had my questions about her age since I followed her as Stature; I'm glad to know that's going to be acknowledged & explained.

Yeah, this cleared up Rage of Ultron for me as well...wasn't happy with that one since I love me some Pym as well, but I'm with you: I'd don't think we've seen the last of Hank, & I hope he's able to come back in an interesting story post-SW.

This looks pretty good, I'm a big fan of Scott Lang from way back, have original copies of his first appearances In Marvel Premiere, & I've been following the character all the way up til now, & I also love Hank Pym & I'm very excited for the movie(& I even followed Cassie as Stature when Scott had a bad case of dead, thanks a lot Bendis!!), but I have yet to pick up this series, namely for monetary reasons, but I've been thinking of picking up the trade; but I'd like an objective opinion: is the book good & worth picking up? I appreciate any input you guys give me, whether I should try the first trade & invest in the series or give it a pass.

The only thing I don't like in this is the implication of Scott being "the other Ant-Man", or Scott being less of a hero than Hank Pym because he isn't- & as I said I love both characters- Scott has proven himself as a hero time & time again, on his own, and also with the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Heroes for Hire & the Future Foundation, and even in Alias with Jessica Jones. IMO, Scott has more than earned the right to wear that helmet & not just be called an Ant-Man, but THE Ant-Man.

(BTW, it also sucks that they killed off Hank. I also hope here that Hank isn't portrayed as a d!ck like Scott said.)

This deserves a like. wheres the like button?!?!

Thanks man, just sticking up for two of my main guys, Scott & Hank. Been rooting for both guys for years & I want to see the best for both of them, & the respect they both deserve.

Apparently some reviewers are just exploring Edgar Wrigh exit to justify their claims... More references to the production problems than the movie content...But like you said I'll have to wait and see.

Exactly bro, with critics reviewers like that, I just say:

Critics usually judge the movies before they even see it, they have their own preconceived notions & lay it out like they're the authority of the land, the first & the last word, what a joke. And these other reviewers, as you said they should critique the movie by its content, not by the production problems & the Wright controversy..IGN did a good job with their review too IMO. Regardless I have a feeling this is still going to be an awesome movie & a great addition to the MCU, & that I'll be going into the theater with a smile, & leaving it with one too.

And thanks for your great review @g_man. I know I'm really going to enjoy this movie & how they are bringing a great underdog hero, & the legacy of the second costumed hero of the Marvel Age after the FF, Hank Pym, into the MCU. I see Rudd & Scott Lang both as underdogs, I like them both & I'm rooting for them both!
