Because the timeline has been altered, I’m now CEO of a giant company, but I have also become a less likable and somewhat shallow person. And in order to save the world, I have to give up this life of grandeur and become a punching-bag character once more.
Duck Avenger treated me with decency even though I’m an android. Being treated like an equal inspired me to start a rebellion and change the timeline in order to make the world a better place for androids... but that just results in the androids becoming the oppressors, something I do not want either.
I’m an android, and I have to deal with being treated like a piece of equipment by my douchebag human bosses. Yet I STILL decide not to join the android rebellion because my independent mind also gives me a sense of duty as a Time Police agent.
Androids are meant to be free, but they aren’t ready to handle that freedom just yet. The sad truth is that they just have to tough it out and be the humans’ servants for a bit longer.
My friend sacrificed her life in order to save me as well as proving that she was not an obedient machine. Her dead body could be repaired, but that would be the same as treating her like a broken fridge, not an individual. Machines can be repaired, people can’t.
... How the HELL did Donald Duck comics become this dark!?
It is a shame that so few of the Duck Avenger comics have been translated to English(fan translations are available, through) since they are surprisingly good and turned Donald into a genuine superhero instead of just a parody one.
Donald Duck's uncle Scrooge has bought an enormous 150 floor skyscraper known as Ducklair Tower for practically nothing since the building is practically a technological haunted house. Donald becomes the caretaker of the building, but Donald being Donald doubts that the building has 150 floors and decide to COUNT them by himself... and realizes that the building has one-hundred and fifty-ONE floors! Using his superhero identity as Duck Avenger, Donald manage to reach the sealed-off secret parttop floor of the building and discovers Uno(called Globe in Danish, better name if you ask me), the supercomputer that runs Ducklair Tower. Uno was build by the scientist Ducklair who created the building since he wanted someone as smart as himself to talk to, but after Uno's creator disappeared, the computer became lonely. So Uno becomes Donald's friend as well as his provider of high technology and other stuff that the hero Duck Avenger needs after alien attacks Duckburg and time-travelers mess up the presence.
Seriously, I could talk for hours about how awesome this series is.
Proud to say that "PK - Paperinik New Adventures" [or "Duck Avenger" in America] is an Italian creation :) the original series was published here between the 1996 and the 2005 for a total of 56 issue and some specials :) and here have been reprinted many time :)
True, you Italians has always given your Disney comics a touch of darkness as well as writing a stronger plot in the stories compared to us Danes who focuses more on the gags when we write Disney comics.
I wish they would reprint the Stålanden comics(that's what we call him in Denmark, means Iron Duck), but we are still very found of good ol' Paperinik. I myself have 42 of the comics, hope to complete my collection next week:)
