I agree, I think a strong case could be made for both characters. Nightcrawler's character use to be badass back in Excalibur, he is by no means helpless. His aeroacrobatics are on par with Spiderman's. (Marvel's poster boy for agility) And is a master swordsmen."

Now your making up stuff.DD is barely on the level of Captain America when it comes to agility.DD also doesn't have eyes in behind his head he can sense things from all angles but if someone just appears behind him,grabs him and teleports him somewhere there is nothing he can do because he would have to know before hand that that's where Nightcrawler was going to be.He doesn't have telepathy.

he sees better than seeing,you underestimate the man with no fear,he can see with his friggin radar dude,teleportation don't have nothin on dd,unless you can't make a sound,he's dodging it.Fighting skills,dd has tutored many martial artists known for martial arts,now kurt,when do you hear iron fist,echo or any of the best martial artists talk about him.as i thoght.never,just a mutie with some skill that can teleport through farts....bamf."

DD is my favorite superhero,I don't have room for underestimation.If someone teleports behind you,without superhuman reflexes you can't react fast enough for Nightcrawler not to f#ck you up.Nightcrawler is a good hand to hand combatant just not ass good as the people in Marvel we would say are the top.If he can teleport that makes him even more unpredictable because only he knows where he will appear.DD isn't fast enough to stop Nightcrawler and he cannot predict someones movements when they are telepoting.

Alot of people don't know those characters and alot of the replies won't leave much room for debate.I would like to see more battles with characters other than DC and Marvel but...ya know people like to stick to what they know."

Then read up on them (internet / order some back issues / trade paperbacks / read someone elses) Expand your horizons. There are literally the cast/poulations of whole universes to explore. Comic vine holds lists of characters by universe but they are not complete. Read up on them. We have only just begun to scratch the surface on the battle threads. One option to prevent recurrence of battles done before and thus encourage new and different battles is (what I hope is in V2 of comicvine) the search engine for threads. If you can easily see an old fight thread and read up on it, it should encourage new vine members to simply reply on that old thread with their thoughts, if they chose to. "

Hey i'm not saying that people shouldn't be more willing to make and participate in battle threads with characters other than what they know.I'm just saying sometimes people like to stick to what they know so they can give some typ of debate.I don't read alot of TOP COW so if someone makes a battle with Fathom or Darkness,I won't put up much of an argument because I don't know much about them.It's hard to base a debate on a character you just read about before you posted.I'm trying to read more than just DC and Marvel and I do here and there but there is so much I missed out on for the period I wasn't reading comics.Iunno people should be more willing to do battles in with other characters other than just DC and Marvel,but at the same time I understand why they don't.
