UFC Heavy-Middleweight Potentials, Problems (mine).

HEAVYWEIGHT
Tier 1: Stipe, Cain, JDS, Overeem
Tier 2: Werdum, Ngannou, Magomedov, Makhov (potential)
Tier 3: Rothwell, Hunt, Ledet, Milstead
Notes: Future of division bleak, most likely will not see super athletes like Stipe & Cain, the probability of battle tested experienced heavyweights like Overeem actually existing is highly doubtful. At current levels the peak athleticism is right now, and will last 5 years at most. Also, during that 5 years the level of athleticism will decline.
LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT
Tier 1: Jones, Rumble, Cormier
Tier 2: Gustafsson
Notes: While the top 2 tiers is filled with young and powerful athletes, the oldest being 37 and 32, the talent pool in this division is currently at the top, so the peak level will last longer than the heavyweights. There are prospects like Misha Cirkunov, but not at the level of Jones. Might last 5-7 years, during that time level of athleticism will decline.
MIDDLEWEIGHT
Tier 1: Romero, Weidman, Rockhold, Souza, Dreamcatcher
Tier 2: Whittaker, Jotko
Notes: Worst division by far, although should be most athletic because potential for skill and athleticism along with explosive power is the most balanced (KO rate nearly doubles from lightweight to welterweight, and gets even higher at middleweight). No super athletes with great skill, no potential super athletes with great talent. Top contender is a 39 year old who stands at 5'10 (if you see 6'0, just check out him standing next to real 6'2 Weidman).
CONCLUSION: With Dana White taking $20 million and top contenders making around $500,000, there is appeal going to the UFC, nor scouts trying to find young talent.
