Sebastian Michaelis (Kuroshitsuji) Respect Thread

Who Is Sebastian?

Sebastian Michaelis is the butler and servant of Earl Ciel Phantomhive, as well as one of the strongest demons in existence. All we know about his past, is that he was a key player in major events throughout history. For example, Sebastian once told Ciel that he had been the one to introduce The Black Death to Europe, mostly for his own amusement. He is also more than 3000 years old, having known the ancient Pharaoh Smenkhkare. His personality, while calm and polite as a butler, is that of a sadistic monster. He displays this when he remorselessly incinerates a mansion full of captured children (with a smile on his face to boot). Now that you all have a basic idea of who Sebastian is, let's get right into what Sebastian can do, shall we?

Special Abilities

As a demon, Sebastian possesses a few unique abilities (although he has used none of them in combat, unfortunately). These abilities include flame manipulation, shadow manipulation, high-speed regeneration immortality, levitation, and the ability to sense souls. We'll start with the first one:

Flame Manipulation

The one time Sebastian used this ability, was when Ciel ordered him to burn down the manor of Baron Kelvin, here:

With just the flame from a candle, Sebastian was able to engulf the entire manor, which can be seen here:

Also, while it seems that a flame must be present for Sebastian to use this ability, it has not yet been confirmed.

Shadow Manipulation

Sebastian has shown the ability to manipulate a shadow-like substance, as seen when he entangles and restrains Ciel, here:

He also exhibits this ability when instilling fear in an author who had learned of Sebastian's true nature, here:

High-Speed Regeneration

Sebastian has said that he could regenerate even if his entire body was destroyed, but for now the only solid regeneration feat we have is when he regenerated from intense burns (caused by a cloud of mustard gas) in seconds, here:

After this, he literally inhales all of the mustard gas to keep the other servants safe, which has no effect on him.

Immortality

Sebastian has also said that demons can live forever, which is supported by the fact that nothing but a Grim Reaper's Death Scythe has ever come close to killing him. An example of this is when he is shot full of holes by Azzurro Vanel's men, here:

(a few scans were skipped, but I think you get the point)

He is also perfectly fine after being injected with snake venom that can kill a person near-instantly, here:

Levitation

When Ciel first met Sebastian, he was shown to be floating, as seen here:

Soul-Sensing

When Ciel orders Sebastian to find a group of missing students, he reveals that he can see and sense souls from a long distance away, as seen here:

With Sebastian's abilities out of the way, let's move on to his stats:

Stats (Strength, Speed, Durability, Senses)

As a demon, Sebastian is extremely superhuman in all stats, as is mentioned and referenced by nearly every character who has seen him fight. His strongest aspect is his speed, while his weakest is his durability (although with his regeneration and immortality, this really isn't an issue), so I'll be starting in the middle with strength:

Strength

Sebastian is a physical monster, which is extremely evident with feats such as punching through the steel exterior of a tank, as seen here:

Next up, we see Sebastian pummeling a powerful Grim Reaper (Ronald Knox) with his punches:

He does this right after getting impaled by a Death Scythe (the Death Scythe of the strongest Grim Reaper, no less):

He is also seen to be able to bend steel bars easily when he saves Ciel from Aleister Chambers' cult ritual, here:

These are all of his most impressive showings of strength (bar anime scenes), so remind me if I forgot anything.

Speed

As I said, Sebastian's strongest aspect is his speed so, as one could guess, he has more than a few incredible showings in this area. One of these showings would be when he catches a bullet after it was fired, here:

What makes this feat so impressive, is the fact that the gun barrel was extremely close to Ciel's head when the bullet was fired (Sebastian was also on the other side of the room at the time). Another very good speed feat would be when he keeps up with Grelle Sutcliff, a MFTE Grim Reaper, here:

Also, as I have already shown, Sebastian was fast enough to blitz Ronald Knox, as seen here:

He has also weaved through gunfire King Bradley Style, as he does here:

The last item i'll mention on Sebastian's long list of speed feats, is the time he intercepted an attack from Charles Gray (a casual bullet-timer), here:

Durability

Sebastian's weakest stat is his durability, although he does have a few good showings, such as when he got impaled by The Undertaker, here:

This is incredibly impressive, mainly because The Undertaker is capable of doing this casually:

So the fact that Sebastian wasn't turned to paste by that attack is impressive on It's own. Even more impressive is that he was still able to get up and blitz Ronald Knox right after this. Also, as you know, Sebastian was fine after inhaling a large amount of mustard gas, as he does here:

He was also unfazed when he was shot full of holes by Azzurro Vanel's men, as he is here:

He was also able to tank a slash from Grelle's Death Scythe, as he does here:

Senses

Sebastian's senses are very fine-tuned, as is evident after seeing what all he is capable of sensing. As his senses have just recently been expanded on in the manga, he has but one defining feat in this area:

No Caption Provided

Here, with his senses alone, Sebastian looks over an entire campus in seconds.

Conclusion (for now)

As the manga is still ongoing, Sebastian continues to get new feats, but for what we have now I hope that I have enlightened those who are unfamiliar as well as entertained those who are. As Sebastian gains new feats, this RT will be updated accordingly, so until then, I hope you all enjoyed the read!
