He smelled a hint of copper in the air, while he heard nothing. He knew something was amidst. He raised his hand to activate the light of Uriel, but within the deepest depths of darkness. He found the supposed culprit. A woman, dressed in crimson, sulked. Clearly irritated by his presence.
"You should learn to stay out of a ladies business unless, of course, you have a death wish which I can certainly grant." Her voice silken like the shadows she occupied.
As he stepped forward to confront her, she had clearly anticipated this and decided to close the distance. With the speed of a demon, she rushed into his personal space. A pair of knives, potentially the weapons that caused the bruise for the victim, were fashioned in her hand, as they slashed at his neck and chest.
Valentino knew that Santicus wouldn't be ideal in such close range, but the fires that accompanied it would. He backpedaled to narrowly avoid the assassin's advance. And while he did, the Holy Flames Of Uriel grew both in size and in intensity, cloaking the space between him and his attacker.
Within his free hand, a super heated blade shot out from his wrist guard. And as her arm swung out , he attempted to jab it into her abdomen. However, the heightened Flames revealed something he hadn't seen . A full scaled carnage, men scattered across the floor, their heads removed from their bodies and their bowels laid bare.
A thousand questions raced through his mind, but he then locked eyes with his assailant. Newfound determination burned within his retinas. He only asked the question that mattered most.
"Why?"
