The end of the beginning. 0

SPOILER ALERT: You have been warned.  What can I say about Flashpoint that hasn't already been said? Aside from a couple of spotty tie-ins, this has perhaps been the best comic book event in years. The series has had a mostly solid five issues (Counting this one), and some incredible tie-ins (Looking at you, Batman.), and has in a way left me wanting more of its reality every bit as much as I'm eager to get back to Earth as we all know it.  ...Or is it Earth as we all know it?  Flashpoint 5 is...

Snyder continues to impress. 5

Scott Snyder's run on Detective Comics has, admittedly, been the first time I've ever felt myself seriously drawn in to this particular bat book. His penchant for writing Batman more as a crime drama than a whizz-bang super-hero comic makes his stories both compelling and grounded in what feels like a chillingly real world, and it shows in what is building to be the ultimate culmination of pieces he's been laying down for the past few months.  The Good: This is the best Batman storyline out ther...
