Venom-tastic! 0

I think the primal appeal of Venom should never be underestimated.  I'm not talking about the present day Venom in Marvel comics that, well, isn't even the traditional Venom.  I'm talking about Venom as he was in the beginning.  He was almost this movie monster type of villain and that was so awesome. Now, what Bendis has done here with that same Venom character has cranked up the volume.  I mean not only does he eat people in this issue, he even eats a HORSE!  (Note: No animals were actually hu...

The Least Confusing So Far 0

I do have to say that this issue is the least confusing of all the issues of this series thus far.  I don't really like these sequels of 52, but I feel compelled to read them.  Almost as if I didn't I'd miss some really important event or something.   The way I feel is that 52 was a good series because you had a team of top talent writers keeping everything flowing properly.  Countdown was ok, but it had points where it was SUPER confusing. Trinity just compounds on that confusion. Now, down to ...

Thunderbolts in their Element 0

Is it just me or are the Thunderbolts happiest when they get to kill people?  And is this series a better read when they get to do just that? Things that I liked: Osborne's talk with Captain Marvel (though, it was better visually in Secret Invasion) Osborne's orders to kill each other if they acted out of character Venom and Bullseye being able to cut loose Venom dropping into the crowd of people The fact that the Thunderbolts were the only team that could be trusted because they were the ones t...

Teen Titans Terror Tower! 0

Wow, say that title five times fast!   I have to admit that I've been more than a little sketchy of this book for the last few arcs.  The previous stuff with the, what were they "Terror Titans"(?), fell a little short in my book and all this stuff going on with Red Devil just seems a little lame in my book.  Personally I think it all could have been handled a little better.  But, hey, that might just be me. This issue was fun, though.  Well, fun only if you exclude all the mental stuff that's go...

Not so super, man... 0

I don't know what it is about this issue, or even this whole Atlas thing, it's really just not jiving with me.  This all really just feels like filler until something really cool happens.  I'm sorry to say that, because I'm sure that everyone involved put their best foot forward, but that's just how I feel about it. There wasn't anything inherently wrong with the writing, it wasn't too wordy and people didn't come to any off the wall conclusions by themselves.  I actually liked the conversation ...

A Pleasant Surprise from a Galaxy Far, Far Away... 0

I really didn't think that this comic would be very good at all.  The only reason I even picked it up was because it was Star Wars and I have a compulsion to buy every Star Wars comic I can get my hands on.  (Thankfully that compulsion doesn't extend to ALL the Star Wars merchandise that I stumble across.) I have to admit that I've never played the videogame, but I did know what the general premise of it was.  Vader's secret apprentice and all that jazz.  Star Wars has always been hit or miss in...

Nova Enters the Secret Invasion 0

I have mixed feelings on Nova entering the Secret Invasion story.  Mainly because he's a galactic character.  I have the same misgivings on how the Secret Invasion seems to be creeping into Guardians of the Galaxy.  The Skrulls are invading Earth, one planet in the vast universe.  It just feels like we're bringing these galactic characters into it to boost sales on every title that has the "Secret Invasion" label at the top. Of course I'm just complaining about something that happens in EVERY ma...
