Its the determination of the Modern Batman and also Modern gothic stream.
Great writing, great and new labels,frame and transition technics..
Unique and specified art.
Bruce at 50s but Batman is still young.. Clash of the Egos..
Then experienced, sharp minded old man breaks down the goverment,mutants,superman,joker, and the world..

Grant Morrison is mastermind. 70s Neal Adams & Dennis O'Neil and 80s ALan Moore & Frank Miller made Batman Legacy.. But 2000s Grant Morrison is the man of this job.
Great art, great easter eggs and mirrored flaschback. Amazing Storyline and great mental journey from inside of Batman's Ego..

It was a great story. And Spiegelman's way of storytelling was so honest and brilliant and you can see he tried his best to be objective on historical issues and between races.
But on the other hand ı found Maus a bit overrated cuz its one of those over glorified, over polished stories about nazi massacre of jews. And thanks to the power of jewish society in American entertainment bussiness (movies, cartoons, books, comics..) ths book over selled as a classic.
Yes its definitely a new way to (at least for its age) tell this genocide. I loved it. Minimalistic illustration, great dialouge, time/space shift between the process of the writing this book and Historical events. Its aaaalll brilliant.
But to be fair both art and the main theme aint that much of a wonderful or unique aspects. AS a man's story with his family and his family's past. This is one of the most romantic, realistic and intimate work ı've ever read. As a historical event novel, its still fairly good. The choice of using animals for alienation was brilliant.
But in the end ı dont think Maus is a Top 5 or Top 10 material in all graphic novels of the comics industry.
By the way. Besides the war this book motivates you about using the things around us economicly and always being prepared. And make you be thankful for your life cuz there is much worse out there or in the past. Even that part is the story its meaning too much for me.

Its a bit rush... And messy. Very unique, and very revolutionary art style and way of story telling these are good qualities and main theme,sybomlism,sub-text are also strong too.
But its kinda blank and predictable too. But still one of the classics of course but also a bit overrated too.

Well this is a solid, gothic Miller job and ı kinda love it. But ı have to say this is not even close to TDKR or Batman: Year One.
John Romita Jr. is the only representive of Frank Miller's drawing style but his panelling and color griding is not unique or ground breaking like Frank's.
And ı have to say.I starting to think like, Daredevil is a unsuccesfull character. One of the first batman experiments of Marvel. But he has far less background and ambitions contrary to Batman but still Daredevill looks more unrealistic to me. And even ı suprised about that.
His childhood is very common for many other kids (except losing his dead cuz of gangstas) . Bullying by other kids and tough puberty. But somehow Matt is both heavily resentfull and also perfect as kid.
He trained by one guy for so short amount of time but he is immideatly became a monster !! And his feelings not natural or realistic what he did with Stick, how he respond to Elektra or how he turn back to New York.. Not cuz of his own will cuz of a business trip.. But in the end he just decided to stay.
So did you get it ? His character set-up as vigilante not ambitious and full with will power as Batman. He aint has a plan, aint has enough training (cuz stick lefted him) and not enough resources.
Yes actually his world looks more small and humble and thats why you should think like "hey Daredevil more realistic street-level knight than Batman or others" ... Actually ı was thinking like that too. But after reading this and couple of his wiki pages. He sounds so broken and absurd to me.
Miller is the guy who made Modern Solid, Dark, Tough, Realistic Batman. But he aint able to look like acheived similar result with Daredevil at this one (I heard good things about Born Again) . Not even close.. But ı think this is more about Character not the writer.
Dont get me wrong this is really inspiring and memorable Graphic Novel. But it aint has enough impact power. I guess ı should read "Born Again" for similar or even better taste.

Suprisingly hardcore and very stylish.. Very good alternate version for Looney Tunes.. Actually this is the best job Tom King ever did at DC.
Its unexpectedly good. It's here cuz of the 2nd part of the story but first part is realy solid.

Great visuals and drawnings ( a bit exhausted but still great), great paralellism with an old Christmas Story. Fine usage of symbolism but its also formulatic and cliche. Its not a master piece as a graphic novel. Aint have the similar impact with novels like TDKR, Year One, Kingdom Come or Justice.

It was a bit overwanking for Oliver from other heroes and too much nationality pumping into it. I didnt like that part. But it was still solid adventure and road trip story.
