In the Dark Knight Rises John Blake realized that sometimes to do the right thing you can't just follow orders, you have to take things into your own hands and that's why Batman is able to do the things the police can't. So he leaves the police force after the incident with the bridge.
I actually enjoyed Daniels run with Detective comics. I mean it isn't my favorite DC comic nor is he my favorite writer of all time, but I enjoyed the feel of each book. I will be interested to see what he does after this.
I will check them out at the comic shop when they are released but they would have to be really good for me to pick them up. We will see, I'm still on the fence.
I'm still a comic book sort of guy, I don't think I could ever get into having my comics digital (although I said this about having an iPod before too). Comic books will be the new vinyl records. There is just something about browsing comics or records that you will never replicate digitally. But I'm sure digital comics will catch on a lot more in the next few years.
That said I could definitely see the appeal of having my collection at my finger tips if I'm away from home, that would be very nice indeed.
I think villains should be put into a sort of mental institute where psychologists can work to cure them of their illness. Maybe make it on a small island that is within driving distance from the city so they are easy to transport. Make the place inescapable and then we can reform them! That could totally work without them breaking out or anything!
This is one of my favorite series to own. I definitely think it's Garth's best work, even better than Preacher and while I hate to see it end you know all along that is has to and it's going to be with a bang. I really want to see Butcher rip the Homelanders face out of his asshole but I know that whatever Ennis has in store it's going to be worth the read.
