What Sub Pop Culture Comic/Lit Pappy's Reading!

Just a list of what I'm currently reading or re-reading this Month!

List items

  • 4/24/10: Currently, I'm up to issue #11 and I'm Digging on Drake's Red Robin!

  • 4/24/10: Just Started it! Just finished 1947!

  • 5/14/10 Just finished The Blackest Night and had a fun time with it. It was larger story and in a few places the scale of the story kind of got away and over blown but all in all it was a fun read and made me want to read more!

4/24/10: Now, I own all them (including the rings minus the white one..heh) but I've only read up to issue #4. Hope to finish them by the time Brightest Day #1 comes out.

  • 4/24/10: I haven't started reading these but man Do I love the art/14work!

  • 5/14/10: Now I just read both 0# and 1# and I'm really digging whats happening to DeadMan. Wow who thought AquaMan would be so interesting. This Squid made more sense than the Watchmen's. So far It's not what I thought but it seems to be more focused in plot than Blackest Night. It makes me want to keep reading.

4/24/10: Yea, I have issue #0 but can't read it until I finish Blackest Night!!

  • 4/24/10: This is a re-Read since I don't remember reading it officially.

  • 5/01/10: Just finished reading it and though I love the Art work I wasn't all that impressed with the story and its ending. I give it a 3.5 paws out of 5!

4/24/10: I never read this one... so I'm rectifying that now!

  • 4/24/10: Just Read this over and watched the movie to compare it. I love doing that!

  • 4/24/10: Just read this and went and saw the flick. Both were entertaining!

  • 5/01/10: Just bought issue #2 and can't wait to read it.

4/24/10: Pappy's digging on this way more than I thought! It's a fun read and a wonderful prequel to the internet series!!

  • 4/24/10: Pappy's Always had a soft spot for these characters! Glad to see them back in their own comics!

  • 4/24/10: Picked this up Because I like King and this is his first comic non-adaptation.

  • 5/01/10: Just picked up these three. Love all things Alex Ross. Kevin Smith just makes it all the more Awesome!

  • 05/20/10 I don't know why ahem "fishnets" bit I've always had a warm place in my heart for this character. So much potential. So far the story is pretty good. I prefer the variant cover by Brian Bolland, and the inside art by Stephane Roux has a wonderful classical feel look to it. I like the Zatanna/Cop partnership and I really hope they keep that formula throughout the next few issues. This title has a lot of potential and it reminds me a lot The Dresden Files. Can't wait to pick up more a solid 1st issue. 3.75 Paws out of 5

  • 5/20/10 : I read the first issue of this and I have to admit I'm so lost as to what all has gone on in Psylocke's past to knew exactly what is going on. It would have been nice if the references to past plot lines were listed in the coroner like in the old school days (See issue XXX). Last I remember Psylocke was dead and now she seems to have acquired yet another body. Perhaps for ravid followers of miss Locke's torrid past they could fill me in cuz for all I know Miss Locke could have married John and Had smoke monster babies! but I'll give it a try.

  • 5/20/10 : Now I read through the first one and was pleasantly surprised. I've never really follow Booster Gold on anything other than the few times he's in a JLA comic or the ridiculously awesome Justice League Unlimited toons in which he was featured. the story was Not as comical as we are use to for Booster and is much more somber. But If they wrap up issue 26 with a bang it may be worth a glance. Part 2 will tell if this Blackest Night Tie-in is any better than its counterparts!
