Caitlin Riker looks at herself in the mirror, glancing down up and down at her new costume. While she won't be wearing it most of the time, she will when it's required of her. Besides, it's easy on the eyes and very well designed. Was it Selebrity's idea? Caitlin doesn't know, but suddenly someone from the costume department decided to show Ultra-Woman her new costume.

Once putting on the costume was done, Caitlin did the audition for Red Sonja's sister for that planned Netflix reboot. Afterwards she feels really good about her performance. She thinks she knocked it out of the park but the agents said they'll call her if she got the part. So, now has she has to play the waiting game. That's the hardest part. Waiting. Caitlin has her fingers crossed she gets the part.

Now that Caitlin is a part of the Selebrity brand, she now has responsibilities. Part of of those responsibilities is helping out where needed even if it means recruiting others. Once in, Caitlin will present their case before Samson for review where he decides weather they are a good fit or not. Today is such a day as that when Ultra-Woman spots a newspaper article as she browses the internet. A woman saved a boy from being run over. A beautiful blonde. The article mentions her by name and Caitlin recognizes it as one belonging to a model as well as the current CEO of Power Girl Inc. Caitlin remembers reading about her in the newspaper a number of times as well as modeling magazines. Never had the pleasure of meeting Kate, however. Their pathways never crossed.

Caitlin bites her lower lip and wonders if she should reach out to Kate, see if she's willing to join Selebrity. Would Samson himself approve? Well, only one way to find out. Caitlin spends an hour or two finding out where Kate is currently staying. At least, she attempts to find out this information. If successful then Caitlin makes her way there. She knocks on the door that she hopes will lead to a meeting between the two women.

As Caitlin knocks again, she stands there in her new costume. She may be Ultra-Woman but Selebrity has re-branded her the Sequel™. If Kate opens the door, Caitlin smiles warmly at her, sticking her hand out for a handshake, "Hi, I'm Caitlin Riker. Would it be okay if we talked for a bit?"

@supreme_sapien:

Caitlin has no idea what is going on behind the scenes nor does she even suspect that Selebrity has manipulated the polls in her favor in order to make her look good. To have this event to be on par with a great pay-per-view bout of epic proportions. The once great Ultra-Woman, once homeless, verses the mighty Selebrity. The underdog Vs. the powerful Samson. But now Caitlin is no longer the underdog as she is being cheered on by fans who are watching by a 60/40 margin.

Although Caitlin is dismayed her attempted strike upon his ears is blocked, she is elated to find her second finds it's mark as she finds success as she pounds him like the Incredible Hulk did to Loki in the movie. Although Ultra-Woman tried her best to inflict damage, nothing apparently appeared on the handsome Superman of Super-Heroes. The red glow of those eyes as Selebrity rises to his feet like a specter coming forth out of some nether realm tells Caitlin she was in for untold horrors. Now she regrets ever performing such a move on him, that this training session has now gone a bit too far. Her eyes open wider, but out of a sense of deep foreboding. Even the crowd watching seems to be breathless as they watch what happens next.

Caitlin used to have what she calls Ultra-Speed, which is just another name for super-speed. Back in those days, she may have been fast enough to avoid what the great and powerful Samson does next. Unfortunately for her, she has lost a great measure of her speed even if she happens to still be quite fast. So when Selebrity attempts to grab her by the neck with the speed that seems like it's been borrowed by the god Mercury himself, Caitlin catches just the barest glimpse of the man moving before his hand is at her throat.

Surprised by such raw speed, it seems as if he moved as fast as light itself. Caitlin had no chance to even dodge or react. Suddenly, she finds her air supply cut off as her hands come to his wrist and struggling to breathe. She tries to break his grip that seems as strong and indestructible as Adamantium itself but stops once she sees the twin crimson glow from those eyes once again. A stare so menacing as to give pause even to the strongest of beings in the universe, a stare that sends cold chills down Caitlin's very spine. Oh crap...

Unable to break free and rendered helpless, Caitlin thinks this is the end. She's going to die before hundreds, maybe thousands, of spectators. All without ever being able to crawl out of the black abyss that has swallowed her whole. A darkness that has become her life, but given hope by being given a chance to rise above it all and be better than she had ever been. But does Caitlin close her eyes, not wishing to see the end come? No. Caitlin has already stared death in the face once and this time she does again. Gone is the timid, broken woman who has hit rock bottom. Now Caitlin is replaced by a woman who is not afraid to stare death in the face even if she does fear for her life and doesn't wish it to end.

To Caitlin's relief, words ring out from Samson's liaison and it seems to have an affect on Selebrity for Ultra-Woman finds herself released from the steel hard vice grip and she falls to her knees holding her throat and coughing. She gasps for air too, relieved she is very much alive. Caitlin owes the liaison her life.

By the time Caitlin stands to her feet, shaken but hiding it well, her hand is being raised in the air. She decides to play to the crowd. For the first time since this whole thing began, she finally acknowledges them. They are cheering for not only for her but also for Selebrity. Both names are being chanted repeatedly. Pictures and flashes from cameras appear as if the very stars have come down to Earth in observance of this spectacle. Caitlin still doesn't know what Selebrity has done behind the scenes to make Ultra-Woman look good. But now that she sees the cheering crowd, she holds her other arm over her head and more cheers erupt in response.

For the first time in a long time, Caitlin sees that the people are beginning to love her again. Newspaper articles will later be written telling of her possibilities of making a come back seem very likely now. Although the Sequel™ is still hated by a majority that group has shrunk quite significantly because of this televised event. Caitlin almost forgets all about Selebrity's attempt at nearly killing her as she smiles gratefully, unable to get enough of the crowd cheering both her and Samson's names. She smiles with gratitude at the liaison for saving her life, a look that tells all. Hopefully the woman will understand the meaning.

Once the crowd finally settles down, Caitlin lowers her arms. She rubs her throat, the skin is sore and tender, hurting at her touch. Glancing Samson's way, Caitlin can only hope he doesn't believe in grudges. She gets a call on her Data Sleeve and she taps a control to see what it is. That Netflix job about playing Red Sonja's sister? The casting director wants her to come in for an audition. Caitlin closes the message and lowers her arm, taking a deep breath as camera crews and reporters surround them from all sides. They ask a million questions. Caitlin just smiles as if shy, taking the time to answer a few of the questions but ignores most of the others.

With the last question answered, Caitlin decides to give Selebrity a positive image. To uplift him, to make him look good. Perhaps as a way to apologize for that move she performed on him. To stroke that bruised ego and perhaps do a little healing, "Selebrity's the coolest guy on the planet, he really is! It's been a great opportunity to have this chance to flex our respective powers for all to see. Without him, I'd be nothing. So as much as your cheering for me, thank for that by the way," She kisses her palm, then blows it at the cameras, giving a wink before she continues, "Selebrity is the real hero of this event. Let's give it up for the Superman of Super-Heroes!"

Caitlin begins clapping at the end of praising Selebrity and the crowd of reporters and media crews with their rolling cameras cannot help but follow suit. They clap in response, cheering for Samson...for Selebrity. The Superman of Super-Heroes. But inside, Caitlin hides her fear she could have died today and thus it shall be buried. To be forgotten and with the hope it never happens again.

@supreme_sapien: (OOC: No worries! ^_^)

No Caption Provided

Caitlin gives no heed, at first, to the reactions coming from the crowd or that she knocked them on their collective butts with her thunderclap. Her only focus right now is her training partner and never in her life has the Ultra-Amazon been in a training scenario quite like this.

Caitlin is happy to see the first two phases of her attacks succeed. Even her mighty right hook that seems to have the strength of Hercules behind it scores a hit. Like a pinball, the mighty Samson is sent flying backwards. The red haired beauty watches as Selebrity tries to deny the punch, digging into the Earth with such might as to scar the Earth itself from the passage his feet make. But Caitlin smiles when the force of her blow makes it hard for the Mighty Samson and he leans backwards to go with the flow.

Caitlin narrows her eyes, however, as Selebrity uses his power of flight to stop himself. She should know known things wouldn't be that easy. But just as the Ultra-Hero is about to make her next move, Samson beats her to it. Suddenly, but only for a moment, it almost became hard to breathe. It's almost like being in a near vacuum as an invisible hole of air gets sucked into Samson's powerful lungs. But the air rushes back to fill the void, making a whooshing sound as it does accompanied by such a raging blizzard of cold that would make Niflheim jealous with envy. Then there is the gale force winds of hundreds of miles per hour, which is capable of uprooting trees and sending straw through a two by four.

When Selebrity sucks in the air, Caitlin sees it as something of a telegraphed attack. She knows what is coming next so she braces herself. Despite this, there isn't really much to hang on to and dirt makes a terrible thing to do it with. So as the winds blast her with such concussive force as to nearly tear her away like so much trash, she digs in with her hands and feet. But she tears up the grass as she does so as the Ultra-Amazon is being driven back.

The cold is something else entirely. This isn't something like winter, but truly freezing temperatures that could end the life of a human instantly. Caitlin's been in space before and has been completely unaffected, but this cold is something she definitely feels and it chills her right down to the very bone. She speculates, however briefly, that perhaps Samson might be inducing absolute zero. If it's not, it's close enough in Caitlin's book.

As Caitlin struggles against the powerful winds and cold, her teeth begin chattering as she begins losing her strength. Cold is sapping it, making her feel like she's becoming statue of flesh and bone. She loses her grip and is blown back. The winds and cold blinding her to what Samson does next because the next thing Caitlin feels two fists slam into her midsection with a blow that feels like she's just been hit by a bull with super-human strength. Her torso aches and screams in complaint as pain finds it's way through her muscular physique. Rarely has Caitlin ever been hit so hard in her life. Even the air is knocked from her lungs.

Caitlin doesn't waste a moment. Perhaps it's a dirty move to some. If Samson doesn't like it, he can scold her for it. But right now, she doesn't know what else to do. So she brings her palms up and opens her eyes, then her arms flash with the movement of lightning quickness as she tries to slam her palms over top those ears in order to try and stun Selebrity. If this works, Caitlin immediately follows up this attack by attempting to grab onto one of his legs before attempting to do the famous Hulk move and slamming the poor man into the ground on either side of her like a child throwing a temper tantrum, turning the ground around them into a crater as dirt and grass fly up everywhere. Perhaps the crowd will laugh at this part knowing where Caitlin got the move from. That is, IF it succeeds.

The blows hit but seem to do next to nothing. However, Caitlin is not surprised since Selebrity is correct, she is holding back since it's a training session and she doesn't wish to hurt such a handsome fellow. Good on him for smiling, though. He takes it all in stride but at the same time he gently scolds her for fighting more like the famous Muhammad Ali rather than fighting like how she should be. The words the A-lister uses do sound harsh on the ears, like sandpaper rubbing on wood to scrub away the rough spots. But that handsome face speaks of a different story since he doesn't look furious at her or anything other negative thing. He's instructing her that she can do so much better. He's a teacher who is trying to raise her above her station. But he can only open the door, it is Caitlin who has to walk through it. At least, that's how the Ultra Amazon takes it all. Suddenly she feels a bit like Neo in the Matrix movie and Selebrity is Morpheus, trying to unlock her potential. The difference, though, is Caitlin is certainly not 'the one' and she isn't anyone special. That's Selebrity, the man of might and right. A star and unofficial king of Hollywood. At least, to Caitlin he is.

Caitlin sees he has more to say so she waits and listens. Then he does that dirt thing, lifting a mighty chunk of it like it weigh's nothing at all. Treating it like a feather before breaking it apart as easily as he would tissue paper. The strength to do that is nothing but impressive as she takes a shower of dirt and dust. Out of habit, Caitlin brings up her hands as she closes her eyes to prevent anything from getting in. She fully expects an attack. But she slowly opens one eye and sees the dust settle with nothing coming. The Ultra Hero lowers her arms.

Caitlin coughs as the last of the dust clears before she listens to the rest of what he is trying to get through to her. When he finishes, Caitlin glances at the wall he says one of them will go through. That's a big wall. Before, she held back because she didn't want to hurt him. But Selebrity wants to see what Caitlin can do. Unleash all she has and fight like someone who has powers, not like a boxer.

With only Ultra Strength and Ultra Invulnerability in her corner, Caitlin can only do so much. She lost the other powers she once possessed. But even with what she has, she can still do plenty. Plus, her greatest asset is her brain. He even pointed at the side of his head, indicating he wants her to use it. Not a bad idea at all. With much of her power gone, she will need to think.

Caitlin does think, but only briefly as she gets the spark of an idea. But suddenly she moves quicker than hurricane force winds as her powerful arms slide through the air like a pair of swords. Two hands clap together, resonating with the sound of thunder. This close to Selebrity, the sound propagates through the air at him in less than a second, reaching his ears like some invisible invader ready to do it's work. The sound that Caitlin creates from her clap is off the charts as no instrument can measure it. And as it reaches Selebrity's ears, it is Caitlin's hope that it causes the man to clap his hands over those ears of his, to distract him with the pain. It's an attempt that Caitlin hopes succeeds because, on top of it all, she also tried to do it unexpectedly. As per his instructions, Caitlin is trying to be unpredictable, hence the sudden thunderclap.

Provided the thunderclap works and Selebrity is effected by it to her satisfaction, Caitlin tears up the ground as if it's made of fragile Styrofoam in order to pick up a large boulder of dirt and rock before she launches herself at him through the air with such speed as to leave even a bullet train in the dust. Her arms come down to try and smash the dirt boulder into his face as part of her next attack phase. If he even thinks to open his eyes, it is Caitlin's hope the breaking up of the boulder, dirt and dust get into his eyes, nose and mouth in an attempt to not only blind him but choke him.

The final phase of her three pronged attack, provided the first two are successful, Caitlin then seeks to deliver such a mighty right hook as to lay waste an entire mountainside as an attempt to land a blow with such devastating force as to perhaps get him to go through that wall he warned one of them would go through earlier. Afterwards, if all goes according to plan, Caitlin waits to see what he does next OR if any phase of her plan fails, to be on guard for his counter offensive.

@supreme_sapien:

Caitlin is thinking he ignores her apology as he climbs into the SUV with her right behind him. She hopes she didn't offend him and that's what she is thinking. But her nervousness about that is quickly erased when Selebrity fishes out that phone with all the enthusiasm of a kid who gets to play with his new toy. Barely having time to even buckle in, despite her powers, she watches him do his thing while getting her name wrong.

Caitlin remembers when she first started out as a celebrity. She wasn't at all camera shy, relishing her time in the spotlight. But with her damaged rep and less than stellar confidence she barely manages a smile and a weak wave. Quickly realizing that Selebrity is going through the trouble of recording this and likely posting this as they speak, she decides it's probably a good idea to say something. "Hi everyone! Ultra-Woman here! Yep, that's me, the Sequel!" This marks the first time Caitlin is aware of that she's been referred to as such. She's guessing that's her new brand. Not every movie sequel is better than the original but if done right, they are. Terminator 2: Judgement Day is an example of one such sequel deemed better than the original by a great number of fans. A Sequel means a new start, a chance to be better than what came before. It suits her. She only hopes she doesn't disappoint.

Caitlin continues, "Right alongside everyone's favorite Selebrity! I hope you all have a great time watching what he has to offer today!" By stating her name as Ultra-Woman, it's a subtle correction to Selebrity, but she puts the spotlight on him by telling the audience 'everyone's favorite Selebrity', thus making him look good. Combined with her last sentence, Caitlin knows Selebrity's fans will tune in simply because this is him putting on a show. That also means more people will watch. At the end of the day, it'll make Selebrity look cooler.

However, by being with Selebrity, Caitlin knows that if this day goes well for him then it'll go well for her too. Her image will get a boost, one that is greatly needed. So don't mess this up, Caitlin. She thinks with shaky determination as Selebrity turns off his phone. That is all the time she gets to think on the matter, however, as Selebrity's handler begins to explain the whole thing to her. The apology is accepted even if the Ultra Amazon does not voice it. As a former star in Hollywood, Caitlin is fully aware of the wide range of personalities that exist among it's various stars. So Selebrity's abruptness with setting this all up doesn't really surprise her.

The thought of training is honestly a little exciting. A coliseum rented out for an entire day just for them! If anything, Caitlin needs training. Her powers are unstable and she isn't the hero she used to be. Plus, being the Sequel means she needs to be better than she had been. Then Selebrity jumps in before the Ultra Hero gets a chance to respond.

"Yeah gurl. We fit to go a couple rounds, see what ya got."

Caitlin considers it a huge honor to be in a training session with him. He's famous, perhaps more so than she had ever been. So she can't stop her own smile from appearing on those soft lips. Samson's smile must be infectious. "It's a huge honor, Selebrity!" She can't help but fan girl a little as she her shoulders perk up at the idea of mixing it up with this guy.

Soon, the ride comes to a stop and they all get out. Caitlin comes out last. Of course a crowd is here. The Ultra Amazon is a little apprehensive now since she is becoming self conscious about messing up now. But Caitlin focuses on Selebrity as she hides a smile, watching him show an impressive display of speed as he takes off his shirt. Perfect muscles ripple under his wall of tattoos which are pleasing to her green eyes as she takes him in. She feels her cheeks getting hot as the cameras flash and the cameras roll. For a moment, she stands there with her hands on her hips.

No Caption Provided

Caitlin waves at the cameras before walking to the designated area for their training session. Questions are asked before she walks over, but she ignores them. She's here for the training session, she can answer questions later and it looks like Selebrity himself is already ready when he points at her, daring her to take her best shot.

After a bit of stretching herself to loosen up, Caitlin smiles as she tries to hide how nervous she is. Taking a deep breath, she goes into the boxing stance, peek-a-boo style, before she throws a series of left jabs. Quick, sharp and precise. As she tries to land the jabs, she expects Selebrity to dodge them or block. He has a height advantage, possibly reach too. That means Caitlin will have to be an inside fighter and risk taking some blows in the process. Good thing she has something of an iron chin...unless her powers decide to give out at the worst possible time.

After the series of attempted jabs, Caitlin tries to land a combination on him with an attempted right hook and a left shot to his body, hoping to hit before backing off and seeing what he has to offer in return.

@supreme_sapien: (OOC: I'm going to assume the Data Sleeve can receive calls since she doesn't have a cellphone right now. If that's not okay, I'll edit my post).

Caitlin had drank half the wine bottle that had been stocked in her fridge last night and before that she scarfed down on a real meal that she hasn't had since being kicked out on the streets. Real food and GREAT for once! It feels good to have place to stay and some of the best food for a change. Diving for scraps was not fun and eating food that other people already chowed down was gross. But desperate times lead to desperate measures. But not anymore. Caitlin Riker doesn't have to worry about eating garbage food anymore.

A shower and then bed filled out the rest of her day and she sleeps through the night peacefully and for the first time in a long time. It's almost as if all of this was some dream. She has to keep pinching herself to make sure it's not. The days leading up to this morning were filled with simple pleasantries she hasn't gotten to enjoy for a long time. For someone who had once lived on the streets, this was heaven. Caitlin even played around with her new Data Sleeve and it was confusing as Samson had warned, but she quickly got the hang of it. Her own little PC on her arm is beyond cool!

No Caption Provided

Caitlin was already half awake when her data sleeve begins beeping loudly, informing her she has an incoming call. She moans, shifting position in her bed as she stretches. Yawning and wiping her eyes, Caitlin taps the button to answer the call, but before she can even say hello it's Selebrity's voice speaking rather enthusiastically.

By the time Samson finishes, Caitlin shoots upright in bed as if struck by a bolt of lighting as she realizes if he's about ready to pick her up, she's NO NEAR READY! Oh ***! She thinks.

"I...uh...right, I'll be ready! Bye!" Caitlin face palms at such an abrupt end to the phone call. That was soooo lame, Caitlin!

Caitlin throws off her covers. She has zero time to take a shower, so what did Samson say? Ah, wear something sporty. That means exercise. Sparring match maybe? Lifting weights? Either way, it's nothing fancy. Wait...Caitlin realizes she doesn't have anything to wear! But then remembers that this is a fully stocked penthouse suite and clothes have been provided.

In Caitlin's panic, she doesn't even stop to consider the words she heard over the phone call. The words questioning if she was ready and Selebrity's dismissal of them. Once again proving the man believes in the Sequel™. Perhaps when she has a chance to slow down, she'll think back on it and smile but for now she opens her closet and finds clothing her size. No thought is given to the idea that maybe Samson might have planned ahead since she's been living here for a few days now and already came to that conclusion. The closet is filled with expensive looking dresses, however, and nothing to wear that is sporty enough. Instead, Caitlin goes to the dresser and digs through the clothing until she finds what she needs. Something sporty. So Caitlin takes off her costume and switches to the sports wear along with a pair of tennis shoes. With a quick brush of her fiery red hair, Caitlin is not satisfied with it at all. But it'll have to do for now as she then packs a few things she needs in a back pack like bottled water, her purse and her security pass so she can get back into her new home. The costume is left behind and the bad luck that goes with it.

Caitlin locks her door when she leaves and makes her way hastily outside where she finds Samson waiting and looking like he's busy doing something on social media. Walking up to him and hoping she didn't keep him waiting for too long, she smiles shyly up at the tall man with her hands folded in front of her and back pack strapped to her back, "Ready! Sorry for making you wait." Caitlin smiles, looking at him with those emerald eyes of hers.
