First off I'd like to say that I'm perfectly fine with what tpb prices are compared to single issue prices. Single issue prices are insane, especially when talking about Marvel, but when it comes to DC I think the average 2.99 is the perfect price. Still cheap, but not too big that it'll be a problem when buying multiple series. As for the tpb itself 12 bucks is actually a great price. Take the first volume of Batman New 52. It includes seven issues, and if you bought those seven issues alone it would cost about 21 bucks. You're saving 10 bucks right there. When it comes to tpbs I expect the lowest discounted price to be at most 10 bucks, but it's usually around 12 where the average is at. Anything less and I expect low quality and low sales were put into it. You are buying a book, and you're complaining about a reasonable price. Get over it.

Flash, Detective Comics, and Aquaman are great, but you should check out Superman. That one is just amazing and the best I've read.

@dclantern: That's a tough one. I love everything that's come out so far, but by far I have to go with the two issue mini arc of Superboy and Robin meeting. Seeing Super-dad mad as hell go at it with Batman was fantastic!

Superman, by far that title has blown my expectations issue after issue.

Detective Comics' first arc was really well done.

Aquaman, even though it's more of a saga than arc, has been awesome with the political angle.

@rainshadow777: Then you should check out GLC Oblivion and Edge of something because that fills in the space between the N52 title and the Rebirth series Hal Jordan and the GLC

@rainshadow777: That is true. Honestly though I think DC is listening, because in their trade solicits they have the first volume of Batman (King's new run) having issues 1-6 and the second volume 9-15. In between was the mini batman title event Night of the Monstermen which is being treated as it's own trade without double dipping into the other trades of each title. Hopefully this is what DC ha learned, because it just makes more sense when trade reading everything.

@rainshadow777: Well that's why I suggested the compendium, since reading just one title of this crossover will not make anyone understand this, you either have to get vol 6 of GLC to fill in the gaps, or get the whole thing in one. Still haven't gone and read the other issues, but you're not missing much if you just skip vol 6 altogether.

@dush_era4: Animal man is a really good read. The newer series from the New 52 approaches his character as a horror story. Swamp Thing actually sort of goes in tandem with it for the first three trades, but you don't need to read both series to understand one. It only enriches both by reading both.

All Star Western focuses on Jonah Hex and that's an underrated series. It's about Jonah Hex working in Gotham when it first got built basically.

Justice League Dark is technically part of the JL I guess, but they're so separate and niche characters for most people that I'd say you should check it out. It's basically DC's supernatural book where things can get weird and dark.

Forgot the best one of all: Terriers. Never should have been canceled, especially from that ending.

That's actually a pretty good idea!

I think I'd have Gerry Duggan give it a shot. I really loved his Nova run, mostly because it felt like Spider-man in space, and his work on Deadpool shows that he understands comedy at least, so if he just takes the template from Nova and put it into a body that's ten years older I think he could do some wonderful work for Spider-man.
