The Touch Of TzHaar
Ambroise Monreau is an archaeologist, merchant of magical trinkets and researcher of spirits, Professor of the supernatural, astral and spiritual creatures but before we dwell any further we must understand the first practice of his that started it all. Archaeology, It was a brilliant profession that motivated any mind to grail for more knowledge. However some artifacts were hidden away for a reason, such as the ancient inventory of the dead sorcerer TzHaar
Merely touching an artifact of what he did not know of, his young mind did not foresee the cursive potential of the mystic tool. The tool meant for traversing and communicating with the realms.
The tool was still lively, physically intertwined with the french archaeologist, it chose his body as the host. Replacing his flesh and life with Ectoplasma. The spiritual energy that bonded and connected with everything and everyone, he became the tool of communication between the infinite realms. Cursing him with the supernatural powers of Ectoplasmic properties, manipulation, shapeshifting, morphing and telepathy.
Telepathy
Having his biological body removed, replaced with Ectoplasma had switched his voice with telepathy, able to see into others minds and spirits and speak to them. Falling into two categories of his spiritual telepathy. Communication, the ability to transmit and receive from one mind to another. Perception, opening another minds like a open window and gather and produce information forcefully.
However he is not honed in the task of perception against intelligent life, it is a difficult task depending on the strength of their wills desire to resist and how many minds are present. But once he has a hold, he is a master of illusions, Increasing his size, reaching into the minds of evil-doers and reflecting their darkest fears and many other scare tactics that he uses to play into his advantage.
With the ability of mystic communication of minds he is able to understand almost anything from regular humans, foreign and alien languages, animals and spirits. Even the tiniest insects with the smallest of minds he can dwell into if he ever chose to do so.
Ectoplasmic Body
The core of a spirit and body is what the mist of what he's made of, Ectoplasma. Becoming a ghastly humanoid his body represents a ghost like figure. (outside of his suit)
He can use the ectoplasma inside of him as physical abstracts to unlock keyholes and linger in small quantities without being noticed. Being everywhere at once.
Just like energy, the spiritual mist can never be destroyed, only changed. With full control of his ethereal state he is basically untouchable by any known means. Becoming an ageless ghost.
Ambroise can use the Ectoplasma to dwell inside a corpse and bring them back to life temporarily to ask them questions or command them to fight for him. This is not permanent, a visiting spirit without any consent has a thin line to hold, especially if they wish to return to the afterlife.
Shapeshifting and Mimicking
The Ectoplasmic man can morph and shapeshift his infinite mist into spiritual creatures and plants he has confronted and studied thoroughly. Mimicking their strengths and weaknesses he can morph and enemante his body into several limbs and heads of spirits that wander the earth unseen by the naked eyes of the living.
Basic mimicking of creatures limbs and mindless jaws and horns. Controlling a produced swarm of astral tentacles and snakes, or sweeping away with transformed werewolf arms.
Advanced morphing and mimicking comes when the spiritual creature has a specific ability, such as the basilisk petrifying stare or the mermaids sonic scream and lullaby. Producing the complex biology and magical properties requires a heavy toll of concentration for Monreau.
Extracurricular Heroism
Out of his daily routine of being a professor of the supernatural world and his research for archaeology, the Ectoplasmic man would often find himself in the heap of trouble that followed his profession. From saving his students hides from a stray predator, or a rogue artifact caught in the wrong hands. He took it upon himself as a man with great power, he would claim responsibility for those that needed his protection, taking on a rather ludicrous outfit that acted as a containment suit for his humanoid mist body.
It's a theatrical appearance that matched his melodramatic heroric persona, naming himself "TzHaar" after the grand wizard who was the source of his powers. Upon wearing the costume Ambroise Monreau's personality would become heroic and his telepathic voice histrionic and booming as one would do to announce their superiority. Even though his identity was public and some people knew him personally, it wasn't just an act to him. Unlike the magicians that perform on stage, he took it to heart. The Ectoplasmic Man! A hero! It was his destined purpose once TzHaar has touched him with power, it was a calling that he could be just as grand and great as the legends and myths he teaches.
