@lubub55 - Here's a complete order of issues.
@kevd4wg: Ya. Abnett said in an interview that Marvel asked him to adapt one of his old Gaurdian comics, like Annihilation: Conquest into a prose novel. He told them he didn’t want to write a story that he already told, and would only do a Gaurdians prose novel if he could write an original story that takes place in canon. Marvel gave him the go ahead.
He goes out of the way in the novel to make sure everyone know that it’s canon too. The Rigellian Recorder I mentioned, in my original comment, is a main character. He refers to the universe as “The 616 Universe” a lot. He even mentions that multiple universes exist, but the story is taking place in the 616 universe.
It’s actully a pretty good book if you want to check it out. And if you like audio books, Graphic Audio has a really awesome version. It has a full soundtrack, separate voice actors for each character, and sound effects for all of the action. It feels more like watching a movie then listening to a book.
And Abnett is still the best Guardians writer (along with Lanning), so you know you’re getting good Guardians.
@kevd4wg: Rocket Raccoon and Groot: Steal the Galaxy.
It’s a prose novel by Dan Abnett. It’s the first prose novel by Marvel that wasn’t an adaptation of another comic, while still taking place in the 616 universe.
@allstarsuperman: Jealous nerd
Gamora was confirmed taking part in the single greatest display of sword fighting in the entire history of the 616 universe while facing a Space Knight. A Rigellian Recorder who had access to every single moment of history across the universe checked and confirmed that she and the Space Knight were in the middle of the greatest sword fight in all of 616. So I consider Gamora #1.
Hey, you’re back! I swear you might also be a long lost twin of mine based on the stuff you read. Cosmic Marvel...and also Dr Solar, Roland, Drizzt, and Strode... That’s way too much of a coincidence.
Never heard of Planetary though. I have to check that out now.
Also, I read garage sale Gold Key stuff growing up too. Doc Solar and Turok. Love that stuff.
@tparks: Any other thoughts on this my man? You excited for the new book? Any theories about what the story is going to be about, who we'll see "cameo", if there will be any deaths, and so forth?
I'm stoked for the new book.
As far as some of my thoughts and theories...
Belt of Beloth the Wise. It's gotta be...something, right? Why was it so important that the belt was lost, unless it was important? That just seemed so weird, and still bothers me that I don't know why he chose to have that belt go missing. - Biggest guess, is someone stole it. I doubt it's just buried or something. Someone out there has it for...something....
And Elva has to be bad. Or... at least not as much on the good guys side as she was in the first 4 books. It was Eragon's biggest mistake, and I don't think it has had the chance to haunt him enough. I'd like to see Elva become a threat.
MORE ANGELA!!! She's the greatest mysterious character in fantasy. I want to learn more about her, without ever getting to know everything. I like that she always has a mystery about her.
I also think there needs to be some new type of supernatural enemy. Something that tops dragons, shades, ra'zac, etc... There needs to be something bigger and badder. With all the new Dragonriders, it seems like the new threat is going to need to be huge.
MORE RORAN!!! Biggest scene stealer of the series. I could read an entire series about Stronghammer.
@krleavenger: Lol. I just know you can do it though!
Awesome list man.
So I'm guessing these will be done this evening?
Oh man. I picked a good day to log back in. I can't wait to dig into this.
