T he Organization Since Spain finally united its cities under one banner there has always been a secret organization. A sect of select individuals that protect its boarders and destroy its enemies. The group, with swords and bows and arrows in the old days and guns and Kevlar and knives in the modern age, has always done the dirty work.
Only the highest authority knows of their existence, however no one knows their names. They operate under code names. Their group has adapted through the centuries. Today they are called the Armades Unidad de Armas Letales; the Armed Lethal Weapons Unit.
Their best operative; Tormenta.
A New Evolution of Mankind
When a genetic human change occurred giving people powers, the A.L.W.U. realized its operatives weren't capable of dealing with super-powered beings. Although extremely skilled, they were no match against people with super strength, flight, mind control, and a host of other unfair advantages that these Mutants could have. So instead, the A.L.W.U. looked into a super soldier serum like the one administered to Captain America during WWII.
Their various serums did not work in the trial stage, killing many subjects or driving them clinically insane, so the A.L.W.U. eventually gave up on a super soldier serum that they hoped would even the playing field. In a drastic turn of events, the A.L.W.U. decided that their best bet was to breed Mutants and take their children for their organization.
They staged events that would put two desired carriers in close proximity with each other in the hopes of a relationship forming. In doing so, they were able to choose the desired traits of their new operatives. These traits, for example, included invisibility or shape shifting.
From the moment the child was born a shadow was assigned to the family. Once this shadow could identify powers suitable for the A.L.W.U., they staged 'accidents' that would lead in the child's apparent 'death.'
The child was an A.L.W.U. member from that point on. There was no going back. His or her identity was erased; everything about him/her gone. They had to start anew.
Short but Sweet Katherin Jotts met her husband at work. At first, she wasn't particularly close to him. He had just moved in from another Social Security Office. They both had a secret that made them partners. Both had abilities the common man would never have. Katherin was the first to realize when she saw him, Jake Kyote, grab her and then jump seconds before a car rounded the corner and ran into a wall near where they had been. It was a drunk driver going ninety-five on a twenty-five.
She later asked him how he knew and he told her about a warning pain in his gut that told him he was in danger. He told her not to tell anyone. She laughed at him and showed her ability. For a moment she shimmered and then disappeared. He felt around for her but couldn't find her. She appeared behind him quickly and turned him around.
She told him she could disappear; match the surrounding area.
From that moment on, the two were inseparable. A few months later Jake got on one knee and asked her to marry her. A year after that her son Brycen was born.
Brycen Kyote, from the moment of his birth, was a great athlete. He was fast, strong, and intelligent. By five he was running a mile in six minutes. During the summer he was enrolled in Karate while his parents worked. He grabbed four trophies, beating older kids and getting his black belt with three stripes(Outranking his School's Master). It wasn't until eight that he realized he had more abilities.
And it wasn't until eight that his shadow realized he had abilities either.
Brycen's shadow was his Second grade teacher, Mr. Jacobs. Mr. Jacobs came to every event Brycen participated in, even when the boy decided he was flexible enough to be a gymnast. He ate many times at the Kyote's house. However during all this, Mr. Jacobs was waiting for Brycen to show some sort of extraterrestrial power that would prove he gained something from his parents.
He finally saw this when Jake accidentally knocked over a knife from a table heading for Brycen when he was over for dinner. Normally, the knife would have dug into the child's back. Brycen was no longer normal, it seemed. The eight year old moved away instantly, the weapon flying by where he had once been.
It was at that moment Mr. Jacobs realized it was time.
A few weeks later a fire was started at Brycen's Elementary school. The fire alarm, which would normally have gone off, was not working. Mr. Jacobs didn't react until smoke appeared underneath his classroom's door. It was then that he evacuated his class. The children quickly ran out. Brycen was the last, having been seated in the back.
Jacobs knocked the boy out quickly, incapacitating him with a dose of various drugs. No one ever found the two, but skeletal remains where found in the room in the back. However, there was no way to identify the skeletons as Mr. Jacobs and Brycen's.
Brycen awoke in a Shaolin Monastery on the hard, wood floor. He had a minor headache but it soon dissipated. The growling in his stomach would not. Luckily, Mr. Jacobs was there with a plate of soy sauce covered steamed rice and meat. It sizzled; brand new, it seemed, and good good timing on Mr. Jacobs part. His Second Grade teacher sat on his knees in gray robes. His sandals, if you could call them that, were near the door. He was eerily calm.
His former teacher offered him the plate of food and Brycen accepted it. As he ate he watched his teacher, the man had proven to be untrustworthy. Finally he finished and Mr. Jacobs got up. "My name isn't Mr. Jacobs. It is truly, Juza, " he informed Brycen. Brycen nodded to him and then followed Juza as he walked towards the door, slipping on his sandals fluidly as he went through it. Brycen was still in his normal clothes when they descended down stone stairs and into a courtyard.
It was here that he heard deafening noises as students complied to their masters orders. Almost in unison the large group-of five hundred it seemed- moved as one. They kicked, the yelled, and they jumped at the same time as if they were robots programmed to do so. Brycen tugged at Juza. The tall man turned and looked at him and Brycen pleaded to go home. Juza shook his head.
"This is your new home now," he said as he grabbed Brycen and walked forward again. "Your old home is gone. Everyone you know, dead."
It was at that moment that Brycen succumbed to the fact that he wasn't going to ever leave. He was trapped in this new world and he genuinely believed his parents to be dead. There was, of course, no reason to let 'Juza' kidnap him.
He was alone, and when you are alone you fend for yourself and adapt.
During his time as a student, Brycen learned the arts of Shaolin kung fu. He also learned many other forms of Martial Arts from teachers that Juza found. These teachers taught a young Brycen to view every item as a weapon and every person as an enemy. He spent many days praying with the monks at the Shaolin Monastery, mostly to find inner peace which was a major component to fighting flawlessly. He was told mind should not cloud your actions; pain should not be shown for it will be interpreted as weakness; anger should never build and should only be released.
Because of his genius, Brycen quickly mastered all forms that he became acquainted with. By twelve he was no longer a student, but a
master in Martial Arts. The Monks there gave him the gift of a contemporary uniform and robes in black and red. It was at this time that he was transferred to Japan and he met legendary Samurai. Although they still used the sword, these Modern Day Samurai mastered all forms of weaponry from machine guns to small knives.
They taught him to use weapons- from the less likely light bulb to a more likely switchblade- and also taught him their codes and rules. It was here that he learned respect for his opponents and to never attack someone unarmed. At fourteen the Samurai he had met announced he was no longer in need of their training. They gave him two identical Katanas made of a titanium and platinum meld.
At the age of fourteen, well disciplined and chivalrous, Brycen stayed in Japan. However, he was let into the hands of expert Ninjas. The taught him stealth; how to disappear. This was the easiest part of his training because of his ability to disappear and also his danger sense. Although he learned how to maximize his abilities he also learned the arts of a killer. It was the first time he was acquainted with poisons.
Brycen emerged at sixteen with vast knowledge in the arts of killing. His technique was unbeatable, his speed and reflexes and senses much keener than an Olympic athletes'. He was now a silent and callous killer.
Meeting The OrganizationBrycen met the agency when he was eighteen. By now he had mastered eight languages; English, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, French, German, Niger-Congo, and Russian. He was introduced to the other operatives and the head, Alberto Hemenez. Hemenez first job was to give Brycen a code name.
He allowed the eighteen year old boy pick this name. Brycen decided upon the word Tormenta. It meant in English, Storm. Brycen decided the name was a good fit because of his ability to move blindingly fast. Storms were dangerous and could kill. May it be a Hurricane or a sandstorm.
With that out of the way, Hemenez sent the young Tormenta into more training. Here he learned diplomacy and the way of a con-man, learning to create fake ID's, credit cards, and to create a whole new life that could be dropped in an instant. Tormenta created these aliases quite easily, enjoying the different people he could become. A doctor, a lawyer, or a police officer. It was quite easy.
By twenty two Tormenta was a top espionage operative in the world. Alberto finally gave him high-class espionage missions and he finally became the lethal weapon he was trained to be.
First MissionTormenta's first mission was the assassination of a political figure of a rising rebellion in the mountains of Portugal. The Spanish government thought it best that the group be dealt with quickly before it would destroy small towns on the boarder between it and Portugal. They wanted to avoid a group like this terrorizing their own country.
Tormenta posed as another recruit, someone with vast militaristic knowledge. The leader of this group, John Puinto of The True Portugal, found himself asking Tormenta for advice in war tactics. At first, Tormenta was hesitant. However, after Puinto offered him a position as his right hand man, he finally agreed.
It was at this moment that Tormenta found he had an advantage. During the night he observed Puinto's guards. The man always thought he would be attacked and his guards showed this. They had bullet proof vests and AK-47's. Weapons that would alert the rest of the people that there was an attack.
Tormenta lured these guards away, creating a diversion of a burning tent. The two guards ran to assist the situation while he slipped into the tent. Puinto was sleeping when Tormenta came to his bed and lit it aflame. The man burned alive, along with the tent, as Tormenta exited it and then picked up a bucket of water and threw it onto the tent to imitate someone trying to expunge the fire.
That morning the burning of Puinto's tent was interpreted as an accident when another tent near it combusted. His bones were buried on the campsite in front of everyone. Tormenta, being his second-in-command, told everyone this was an unfortunate accident. However, he told them, the uprising could no longer continue. Puinto had had various connections with politicians in the Portugese government; without them the takeover of its government would fail.
Puinto's followers dissipated during the day, returning to their rural towns to continue their normal jobs. Tormenta slipped back into Spain and made it back to the headquarters of the A.L.W.U. He was commended for his work.
Superheroes? After many events in the superhero community changed the landscape of the world, the A.L.W.U. realized it needed someone to infiltrate this new outbreak of unbelievably gifted people. Hemenez realized that it would take someone serious to deal with this new mission. He finally realized that Tormenta was the one for the job.
So he ordered Tormenta- now 24 with two years of missions under his belt-to join the superhero world and report his findings to the Spanish government. Strengths and weaknesses of everyone; including heroes and villains, were needed, Tormenta was told. The espionage agent was secreted into America to begin his new life. He was now John Stoudemire to his neighbors and 'friends.'
It was at this moment that he started his career in the 'superhero'-spotlight.
BetrayalTormenta, after months of infiltration, discovered that the A.L.W.U. central had been infiltrated itself. His mission had been falsified to get him out of the country and dismantle the secret organization in his absence. All the while, the information he sent was spread to various governments including the U.S., Britain, and Russia.
When he was asked to return to Spain, Tormenta declined and remained in America avoiding operatives from many nations. His abilities where well known, and they all wanted him for their intelligence offices.
While he was on the run, Tormenta plotted to destroy the A.L.W.U. to ensure that its many secrets remained secrets.
Only one person did find him though. Jean Luc LeBeau Sr.'s people had sought out Tormenta and offered him a job. They promised him protection and a calm life in France as long as he worked for the Sr. LeBeau as his assassin and protector. With nowhere else to go, Tormenta accepted the offer given to him.
A few weeks later he was flown by private jet to one of the many properties owned by the illustrious LeBeau family. He personally met his new employer and briefly with the infamous Jean Luc LeBeau Jr. who was under the persona Gambler. Tormenta knew a lot about Gambler by his actions, but held his tongue.
For the next months to come, Tormenta associated with everything the LeBeau's stood for, assassinating their opposition and protecting their family's prized possessions(the heirs themselves) along with LeBeau Sr.
When he was given a week's leave, Tormenta returned to Spain and destroyed A.L.W.U's headquarters and erased all the files pertaining to it. Officially, the organization did not exist and thus the Black-Clad Assassin left many agencies and organizations in the dark regarding its purpose and what it had accomplished. With very few blemishes to show his current feat, Tormenta returned to France and continued his work.

Legends & Legacies RPG
After the very brutal murder of Michelle Marie DeLa St. Croix, heir to the Cotillard fortune, Tormenta could see visible strains in the LeBeau family. Eventually LeBeau Sr., deeply distressed by this murder and in deep mourning, gave the Black Mamba the orders to follow his son to America and assist him in seeking revenge for the Cotillard family. Tormenta felt indebted to the LeBeau's and followed these orders to suit.
The two flew to Dallas, Texas and traveled to a home just north of the city owned by Jr. Congressional Woman Lady Mani. There Tormenta did the dirty work, and with titanium knives given to him by LeBeau Sr., the Black-Clad Assassin stealthily dismantled over twenty guards. He alone paved a path for his employer's son to take revenge for the Cotillard.
And so, Tormenta watched as Lady Mani was crippled by Gambler. The two left, and by the time reporters had reached the scene, the two allies were halfway across the Atlantic Ocean to safety in France.
Semi-known to Tormenta, Gambler and a few other legendary names had formed a temporary alliance and had decided to call themselves The Pillars. But, once they had joined together the team had started destroying themselves. That was why the Cotillard heir was murdered and Lady Mani crippled. A game of dangerous tag had formed, using others as tools.
So during their Mid-Atlantic flight the angelic Hawk flew to the Chambre De L and gave LeBeau Sr. only two choices; (a) shoot himself (b) let birds scavenge his body(they were gathering). Heroic to his lineage, Jean Luc LeBeau Sr. blew up his own oxygen tank after hurling it into the air. This caused the upper levels of the Chambre De L to be destroyed through a large explosion. Old Man LeBeau died in the explosion and as Gambler and Tormenta arrived in a limousine, the whole Chambre De L collapsed before their eyes.
At that moment Tormenta vowed to avenge the death of LeBeau Sr. at any costs. Knowing the consequences of letting emotions take over, the Black-Clad Assassin went to retrieve the hero Kurrent, another Pillar, who had came to meet Gambler countless hours before. As they returned to the Living Legend, the Disciple of Deception witnessed a red-haired woman in the tree-lines watching the whole event. He relayed this to Gambler just before Kurrent and the Cajun began their conversation.
Tormenta was sent to get a helicopter while the two talked. When he picked them up, they went to Arras, France to meet with the LaS. The trio entered a town hall to find themselves trapped by the assassins. They found themselves at a valuable position and betrayed the Living Legend. They declared Gambler a bastard LeBeau and a nuisance to there Cotillard legacy. By the end of a short conversation, a fight could not be avoided.
A fight ensued, but Kurrent, Gambler, and Tormenta weren't the only non-Cotillard's there. Away from the scene, the mercenary Risky used her sniper to enter the fray. Later, Hawk appeared and although Tormenta wanted to confront him the Black-Clad Assassin realized it was in his best interest to keep Hawk focused on the LaS assassins. With their combined forces the battle shifted. To further their advantage, Kurrent solved Gambler's hidden code spoken through his response to the Cotillard's. The Electric Ace shot an object that caused a blinding aura of light to engulf the scene.
Warned early, Tormenta shielded his eyes. Kurrent and Gambler had also, and the trio began an escape through a secret passageway. Tormenta and Kurrent are lead into a trap however, and Gambler closes the entrance back into the Hotel-de Ville. The Living Legend then speaks with an unknown voice and reveals his true intentions. With his own 'assassination' at the Hotel-De Ville, he effectively attracted the Pillars to do the dirty work in systematically erasing the Cotillard's. His plan was to use the Pillars as a scapegoat for the dirty work, and utilize the public outcry to regain his seat of dominance.
And so, the Living Legend set into motion events that he could never have foretold. The LeBeau family rose to prominence and absolute power, defeating the Champions of Peace and many other foes. This Age of LeBeau ended however, when Hawk had one final showdown with Gambler and killed him(using the powers of his son and daughter, both Omega-level mutants) leaving himself and his family to be the One Family to rule everyone.
Since he was a kid, Tormenta has had his Danger Sense save his life many times. He gets a feeling in his stomach- like one you'd get on a roller coaster- that warns him of impending danger. Like his father before him, Tormenta has been able to master this feeling, and coupled with his enhanced senses, he avoids potentially dangerous situations.
Tormenta is a very smart person. He is familiarized with various languages including Japanese, Chinese, French, Spanish, and German. It is because of this that he is the best at what he does. He can learn anything quickly without problems. It is because of this intellect that he has learned eight languages and counting and has mastered many forms of Kung Fu and how to use many types of weapons despite their differences. His mind has also helped to make him very adaptable. This adaptability keeps him calm in potentially deadly situations. He is a master of the mind, a person in complete control of his body.
Tormenta got his mother's power of invisibility. It is naturally like a lizard's ability. He shimmers before his body dissipates into the colors behind him. It helps him be untraceable, allowing him to disappear at will. It is, thanks to this power, he continues to live and hasn't died on a mission. It is also a good eavesdropping and ambush weapon in his arsenal. This makes him an excellent stealth weapon. If Tormenta moves fast, per say running, the place where he moves fuzzes as his body keeps changing itself to its new background. He can be spotted by infra-red light .
The powers below are based on the genetic engineering done on Tormenta. At the Chambre De L the scientists unlocked the Black-Clad Assassin's latent ability to control the density and mass of his own body through his molecules. He is still learning all the trades of this new ability and could eventually unlock new powers.
When he joined, the Chambre De L ran a few experiments on Tormenta and then used the Venin Rose as his sparring partners. The Black-Clad Assassin found he could pass through all solid matter by allowing his molecules of his body to travel through the space between whatever molecule he's trying to travel through. When he touches other people and objects they also become intangible. He found that when he passes through people they become unconscious and could kill by phasing them and then releasing them into solid objects. He can turn this ability on and off, but in times of danger uses it to decrease injuries. His power is not unlimited because if he stays intangible for too long his molecules lose cohesion essentially ceasing to exist.
Tormenta is able to disrupt electronics when he phases through them, effectively short-circuiting them. Although invulnerable to melee, weapons fire, and powers the Black-Clad Assassin is still vulnerable to magical attacks but is less vulnerable to psychic probing and psionic attacks. Also, the Black-Clad Assassin cannot phase through stasis fields because they can essentially stop the movement of his molecules keeping him from reforming into a solid object.
Tormenta, after various experiments by scientists at the Chambre De L, developed an ability to transform his molecules into a gaseous mist that he is capable of maneuvering. With this ability, the Genetically Engineered Assassin can travel through vents and other crevices to escape potentially 'sticky' situations. He cannot pass through solid objects or liquids in this form though.
Sublimation is a valuable tool to use after assassinations because it allows him to escape in a manner people would not expect.
Unarmed Combat and Weapons Mastery
Due to his intensive training, Tormenta has mastered many forms of Martial Arts like: Kung Fu, Krav Maga, Ju Jitsu, etc. He has also learned how to properly use all weapons and inanimate objects. He is considered the best at this. He is a dangerous foe in Unarmed Combat and with Weapons. You'd rather be bulletproof when you come up against him.
He is triple jointed making him especially dangerous and unpredictable.
Enhanced Senses Also due to his training, Tormenta has enhanced hearing, sight, and smell. This makes him an excellent hunter and tracker and also keeps him from being ambushed. Tormenta likes to know the situations he's getting into.
Tormenta is an extremely great escape artist. Because of his peak human strength and agility he is a slippery foe. He knows how to use his surroundings to his advantage and because of his extensive martial arts and parkour background Tormenta can find an escape any which, even the unexpected, ways.
