Totally agree on the Nightwing Rant. I've always loved Nightwing ... ok I loved pre-new 52 Nightwing, the current one is eh ... but this was just silly. Have they moved where Gotham City is in the New 52, because if not then this is just plain dumb. Not to mention impossible. They haven't given Dick super powers right? He's not a teleporter ... since he no longer really know Cyborg he hasn't been given Boom Tube Tech. So how does he go from Illnios to South New Jersey (unless it's moved again) carrying a Villain (who at one point was dangerous, but obviously now not so much).
Fortunately, I had my local shop grab a 3D cover version of this for me. It sounds like it's going to be off the charts awesome. This was EASILY the one book this month I was most psyched to get. Glad to hear it lived up to the hype.
I've always loved Green Lantern and continue to do so. I haven't bought into Relic ... but Venditti is doing a pretty good job. After all it was going to be hard for ANYONE to follow Geoff Johns GL run.
I liked this issue, and despite my early misgivings I love this series. My favorite of the 3 has to be last issue though. Sure the stuff with Martha Kent was too sappy, but I LOVED earth 2 Superman putting new52 superman in his place. Just awesome.
I agree the art is a bit too artsy at times, but the story MORE than makes up for it.
JLD is on my Pull List so I'm getting this anyway, but I actually excited about this issue. I wasn't a huge fan of the way Eclipso was handled on Team 7, but I loved the Sword and Sorcery take. So I can't wait to see how Dan DiDio handles him. ;)
I'm not sure I'm sold on the new look for Desaad, but I do like that the Darkseid's underrlings are a bit more powerful. Afterall, they are suppose to be New Gods. In the past, except so Darkseid ANYONE could beat up the Gods from Apokolips. Desaad, Kalibak, Steppenwolf, Granny Goodness ... all of them could be schooled by Zan, Jayna, and Gleek the Monkey. So I applaud the move to make them more menancing and a threat.
Now I agree with the look. He looks like a bad version of the Time Trapper ... but Care Bears villian!?! Lol, I love it! That's exactly it.
