  • The energies created by the emotions of sentient life, visible as different wavelengths of light. This concept appears only in the DC universe.

    Overview

    The Emotional Spectrum was created early on when sentient life first existed in the universe and its thoughts and feelings became powerful enough to coalesce into in a whole band of energy. This band of energy conformed to the spectrum of visible light with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet all corresponding to a specific emotion. Each band of emotional energy is represented by a corresponding Emotional Embodiment.

    Rainbow Girl, a substitute Legionnaire in the 31st century, is known to be able to access the full powers of the Emotional Spectrum.

  • The energies created by the emotions of sentient life are personified as sentient beings comprised of those energies.

    Overview

    At the beginning of the universe, the Emotional Spectrum was created with the first sentient life form. With the first sensations of sentience came thoughts and emotions which never existed before. With more and more use, each emotion gained footing throughout the universe. These emotions gathered energy which coalesced into the Emotional Spectrum.

    Fueled by the Orange Light of Avarice, the Orange Lantern Corps is controlled by Agent Orange, who kills all those trying to take his power and uses their essence as his Orange Lantern Avatars. Unfortunately, Larfleeze believes everyone is looking to steal the Orange Light.

    The Sinestro Corps is a mirror organization to the Green Lantern Corps. Its members are chosen from those who can instill great fear and are given Qwardian Yellow Power rings. They are considered to be the evil equivalent of the Green Lantern Corps.

    The Sinestro Corps Oath reflects their position as the antithesis of the Green Lantern Corps.

  • The Green Lantern Corps are a group of interplanetary super heroes set within the DC Universe. They are overseen by The Guardians of the Universe and composed of 7200 Green Lanterns.

    The White Lantern Corps was formed by The Entity to combat Nekron and his Black Lantern Corps and end The Blackest Night.

    The White Lantern Corps was formed by Hal Jordan when merging with the Entity to combat Nekron and his Black Lantern Corps and end The Blackest Night. They ended the terrors of Blackest Night by bringing Black Hand back to life.

    The members were composed of resurrected heroes Nekron commanded to "DIE".

    As of now, the only member of the "corps" is Boston Brand who still wields a white power ring.

    Black Lantern Corps are composed of re-animated bodies of former heroes, villains and even normal people from all across the universe. They are powered by the corpse of the Anti-Monitor and are led by the Black Hand.

    The Anti-Green Lantern Corps was developed by the Weaponers of Qward. They were created to invade the positive matter universe using power rings of black light.

    The Lost Lanterns are members of the Green Lantern Corps who were the final defense against Hal Jordan when he went rogue and assaulted the Green Lantern Corps. They were left for dead, but later rescued by Jordan from the Manhunters. They still held a grudge for his initial attack.

    Before the Corps was reborn Kyle Rayner ventured out into deep space and assembled his own team of Green Lanterns. The New Corps turned back the genocidal army of the Van'n Imperium before disbanding.

  • A subdivision of the Green Lantern Corps, the Alpha Lanterns serve as the Guardians' Internal Affairs officers and are powerful shock-troopers.

  • The Omega Men are a group of alien freedom fighters contained within the DC Universe, from the Vega Star system. They first appear in Green Lantern #136 and aided the Titans, created by Marv Wolfman.

  • The Rainbow Rodeo created a backup team called the Deputy Lanterns to aid in Blackest Night. They consisted of various heroes & villains from Earth.

    An alien species. They are an offshoot of the Guardians of Oa. They embraced emotions while the Guardians turned their back on them. They are responsible for creating the Star Sapphire.

    The Zamarons left Oa eons ago, after their male counterparts, the Guardians, rejected all emotion out of fear that emotion would bring only chaos. The Zamarons believed such a course of action to be blasphemy, and sought to gather that which the Guardians rejected. And so, they searched the stars, and came upon a world encased in violet crystal. The Zamarons discover the crystal was generated by the violet light radiating from between the bodies of two lovers locked in an eternal embrace, which they declared the Violet Light of Love.

    Qwardians are an alien race from the Anti-Matter Universe. They reside on Qward and resemble humans except they are completely hairless and have large, prominent eyes. The Weaponers seem to have a military structure.

    Dominators are a violent alien race who try to conquer the universe for themselves.

    The Dominators fought a long war with the United Planets in the 30th century. Several attempts to establish peace were attempted. In one of the earliest, the Legion of Super-Heroes escorted a Dominion diplomatic team to secret talks, and had to fend off attacks from people from Earth who were opposed to the talks.

    Later, during the Earthwar, the war expanded involving the Khunds, the Dark Circle, and even Mordru, but at the end of it, a peace treaty was finally achieved with the Dominion.

    The Manhunters were the first attempt of the Guardians of the Universe to implant a security force across the Universe. Later they were replaced by the Green Lantern Corps.

  • The Halla's were the first race used by the Guardians of the Universe to replace the failed Manhunters after the Massacre of Sector 666.

    The Great Ten are a team of superheroes sponsored by the government of China.

    They were introduced in DC's weekly comic series 52. Several of the characters are based on Chinese mythology.

  • The Children of the White Lobe are described as a religious cult, and appear to be mutants resembling infant humanoids.

    The Children of the White Lobe are a race of mutants, considered to be a fanatical religious cult in the DC universe.

    Their purpose is still rather mysterious, but as shown during the events of the Sinestro Corps War they are powerful enemies. According to dialogue between two of the Green Lanterns, they can manipulate will-power constructs not unlike the Lanterns themselves, shown when they are seen creating a force fields around themselves and attacking and killing Green Lanterns with their powers. They also can generate devastating explosions with their will-power, and were being used by the Sinestro Corps as the trigger for the planet destroying "blink bomb" set to be detonated in Mogo's core.

  • The sector Galactic 666 was home to Atrocitus, his family, the Five Inversions and Green Lantern Morro. The sector was decimated by the Manhunters at the behest of the late Guardian Krona.

  • A massacre mandated by the Manhunters in Space Sector 666.

  • Survivors of the Massacre of Sector 666 and founders of the Empire of Tears, the Five Inversions were held captive on Ysmault.

  • Eons ago, the Empire of Tears reigned over three galaxies with the use of dark magic.

  • As a Maltusian, Krona is virtually immortal and invulnerable; he possesses vast psionic powers. He is obsessed with finding the origin of the universe itself and how it came into existence. Recently, he has been revealed to be the main antagonist of the "Brightest Day" story arc.

  • Given power by the Guardians of the Universe, the mysterious First Lantern was locked away and guarded by another group of the Guardian's species, after his powers were determined to be too great and dangerous. The Guardians used his powers to help create the Third Army.

  • Created by the Zamarons, an all-female offshoot of the Guardians, these gems were originally crystals which took possession of their wielders. The gems have since been crafted into violet power rings powered by love.

  • The Blue Lantern Power Core was created by the expelled Guardians, Ganthet and Sayd, to prepare for the Prophecy of the War of Light. The Blue Lantern Corp Rings are powered by the Blue Light of Hope.

    It comes from a spring inside of a cavern, from an unknown source deep inside the planet Nok .

  • Power Source of the Star Sapphire Corps

    Located on Zamaron in Space Sector 1418, the Central Battery houses the power source of the Star Sapphire Corps - a male and female encased in crystal, locked in a lovers embrace for all eternity. Zamaron is also where Star Sapphires will take female prisoners (such as female Sinestro Corps members) to be encased in violet crystals and be converted to the Star Sapphire Corps.

    The Black Lantern Corps destroyed the battery by ripping out the eternel love - Khufu and Chay-ara - that powers the Star Sapphire Corps.

  • The source of power for the Black Lantern Ring. It was formed from the corpse of The Anti-Monitor and resides on the dead world of Ryut in Sector 666.

  • After the events of Blackest Night, the White Power Battery emerged and crashed on Earth.

    The white power battery was created in Blackest Night #8 after the White Lantern Corps defeated Nekron and his Black Lantern Corps. It is currently unknown how or why it was created. Its power and location is also unknown although DC solicits claim that it'll play a big role in Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps during Brightest Day.

    In Brightest Day #0, it was revealed that the white power battery had landed in Silver City, New Mexico. It was found by Sinestro. In Green Lantern #53, the white power battery remains unmoved. Sinestro traveled to Coast City to find Hal Jordan. He informed Jordan that the Entity is asking for him.

  • The personal power device issued to each Green Lantern and sometimes to other Corps. The power battery serves as a power conduit to the Central Power Battery of each Corps and allows Lanterns to recharge their rings while in the field.

  • Primary Green Lantern

    Hal Jordan was chosen to be Green Lantern 2814 by the dying alien, Abin Sur. Hal has since been considered the greatest Green Lantern. He was a founder of the Justice League of America, host to Parallax and the Spectre, and a temporary member of the other corps.

    As a member of the Green Lantern Corps, Sinestro quickly became one of the Corps more distinguished members. Today, he is the leader of his Sinestro Corps and the greatest threat against the Corps.
