Empty Feeling 1

Irredeemable has been perfect up until now, i don't know what Waid has in store for us, but i would've thought ending the arc with Scylla avenging his brother Charybdis would've been pretty good. i only think that because the last two issues of exploration and fact finding have found us less than useful facts.   We all know that Bette Noir had an affair with the Plutonian and we knew her husband is probably going to freak out about it. Also in this issue, we hear more about ...

The Baddest Of The Bad 0

While Superman is absent, Supergirl is tumbling around trying to help anyone without messing it up, and Nightwing and Flamebird are stuck in an infinite drama-loop. Superboy on the other hand, is trying to get his bearings on being back alive (again). He takes time off to be part of human culture and figure out if he is inherently evil or inherently good. Last issue he saved a girl vandal, escorted her home, and tried to find out more about her mother in an attempt to help her out (like superman...

HA! I knew it... 1

Ive been speculating to those that would listen that because Illyana officially died, this cant be her. I was mostly wrong, but at the same time, i was very right. i wont go into detail, but this is a downtime issue. There's no huge battles, no super-crisis and no ethical arguments. This is just an issue of character development and back story... mostly good. They don't really get into too much, just some foreshadowing and story about where Illyana is coming from and why she is so heartless and ...

The Attack Is On 2

So i'm sitting here thinking, there's no way this can possibly be good. We all know who's going to come back... they're on the cover, right? Really, that is only the beginning. the war is on and so far Norman is off to a head start. This book contains little to no resistance against Osborn's army of super humans but does a great job setting things up and answering the question, of Norman really being a threat to Asgard.I really like the idea that I'm not asking who will die or who will be resurr...

The Winner is... 1

So the question at the beginning of this issue is " Will Tam Survive?" because i don't think we have any doubt that Red Robin likely will come out of it somehow considering its his book and this is issue 8 of an ongoing series. Robin spends a second or two to mull over the possibilities before finally taking on the whole spider gang all by himself. There isn't much more to this issue than fighting and a swift reminder that Tim is a former Bat-Kid. This issue gives a huge nod to Tim being the ide...

Go go power-ring rangers 4

i didn't pay money for this book. I read a friend's copy while i waited for some new years drinking to go down. Now, i have read a lot of comic books in my time, and majority of them have been cheesy. Occasionally though, i come across a comic that is so deep and well written it blows my mind. A staggeringly brilliant comic with massive character development and explanations that really get your mind working to guess one step ahead or even trick and interest you into believing some of the things...

Detective Wolverine 0

In this book, Wolverine is feeling burned-out from all of the hustle and bustle of life as an X-man. He decides to get away from the madness for a while and takes a trip to Atlantic City. He runs into an old friend and a boardwalk that reminds him of one of those hazily remembered, dark moments from his past. This book is " detective wolverine" in his purest form. He's the lost guy digging around in a past that no one wants him digging around in and that problem that kept us interested in him fo...

You knew it was coming. 2

Okay, lets get this out of the way. No one should be surprised about this, its been coming for years. The Spoiler:   SPOILER WARNING: Click here to reveal hidden content.Doug Ramsey is alive again. So, thank you Illyana Rasputin for having the single cure for the Transmode virus as usual. When all else fails, use magik. I have said this before so before i review this one i will say it again. I am biased in favor of this team. My first comic ever was a DC book, but this was my first marvel com...

Hrmm... 0

A lot of people are giving Brubaker props and such... but honestly, This is stupid. like really stupid. Steve died, and i thought it was terrible when it happened but over time they have created the new Captain America based on this death the same way they built the new flash on the fact that Barry Allen died. Now they're both back and it sucks balls. Serious hairy nasty sweaty balls.   Now, about the book...Steve in his head, fighting Skull. Steve is telling Cap(Bucky) to kill Skull in his body...

Not what i expected 0

So i'm picking this up reluctantly. My local Comic guy shoved it into my pull box. I'm thinking... bleh.  So i'm reading and its actually a bunch of short stories from the island about how they're all adapting to life. It is utterly awesome. A Wolverine / Nightcrawler feature. Magneto and New X-men feature. After a couple of these stories you sit there and ask yourself, "Are the X-men losing or winning? Did Magneto have it right all along? Is Cyclops really a combination of Xavier and Magneto? H...

Only Partially Sucked 0

So i started to lightly skim through the story so that i could throw the pair in the fireplace and pretend that they never existed when something happened. It got interesting. Suckerboy Prime realizing he is not going to win and pretty pissed about it, (that's what he does, he throws tantrums) finds a way to throw in the towel on the fight that completely backfires on the black lanterns. Holy crap. Very nice. So the black lanterns leave a powered-up Superboy "placated" on earth prime.    As i tu...
