I decided to make a list of my favourite movie quotes or scenes.

List items

  • Boromir : Leave it. It is over. The world of men shall fall. All will come to darkness. My city will ruin.

Aragorn: I do not know what strength is in my blood, but I swear to you I will not let the Great City fall. Nor our people fail.

Boromir: Our people... I would have followed you, my brother... my captain... my king.

  • Erik Lehnsherr: You built these weapons to destroy us. Why? Because you are afraid of our gifts. Because we are different. Humanity has always feared that which is different, but I am here to tell you, to tell the world, you're right to fear us. We are the future. We are the ones who inherit this earth and anyone who stands in our way, will suffer the same fate as these men you see before you. Today was meant to be a display of your power. Instead I give you a glimpse of the devastation my race can unleash upon yours. Let this be a warning to the world and to my mutant brothers and sisters out there, I say this. No more hiding. No more suffering. You have lived in the shadows of shame and fear for too long. Come out. Join me. Fight together in a brotherhood of our kind, a new tomorrow that starts today.

  • Professor X: It's not their pain you're afraid of. It's yours, Charles. And as frightening as it may be, that pain will make you stronger. If you allow yourself to feel it, embrace it, it will make you more powerful than you ever imagined. It's the greatest gift we have: to bear their pain without breaking. And it comes from the most human part of us: hope. Please, Charles, we need you to hope again.

  • Charles Xavier: Raven, please do not make us the enemy today.

Raven: Look around you, we already are!

Charles: Not all of us, Raven. All you've done so far is save the lives of these men. You can show them a better path.

Hank McCoy: Shut her down, Charles.

Charles: I've been trying to control you since the day we met, and look where that's got us. Everything that happens now is in your hands. I have faith in you, Raven

  • Sarah Connor :

Three billion human lives ended on August 29, 1997. The survivors of the nuclear fire called the war Judgment Day. They lived only to face a new nightmare: the war against the Machines. The computer which controlled the machines, Skynet, sent two Terminators back through time. Their mission: to destroy the leader of the human Resistance, John Connor, my son. The first Terminator was programmed to strike at me, in the year 1984, before John was born. It failed. The second was sent to strike at John himself, when he was still a child. As before, the Resistance was able to send a lone warrior, a protector for John. It was just a question of which one of them would reach him first.

After Sarah makes her speech, the music plays and everything burns. Then we see the Terminator coming to the front of the screen. Brilliant intro.

  • Dr. Loomis: I met him fifteen years ago. I was told there was nothing left. No reason, no, uh, conscience, no understanding and even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, of good or evil, right or wrong. I met this six year old child with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and the blackest eyes, the devil's eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach him and then another seven trying to keep him locked up because I realized that what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply...evil.

  • Jack Burton: You can go off and rule the universe from beyond the grave.

    Lo Pan: Indeed!

Jack Burton: Or check into a psycho ward, which ever comes

    first, huh.

  • Darth Vader : You don't know the power of the dark side!

Darth Vader has a lot of great quotes, but I really like that one.

  • Han Solo : I got a bad feeling about this.

  • Luke: Never. I'll never turn to the Dark Side. You have failed, Your Highness. I am a Jedi, like my father before me.

  • Luke: The Force is strong in my family. My father has it. I have it and... My sister has it. Yes. It's you, Leia.

  • Theoden: So much death. What can men do against such reckless hate?

Aragorn: Ride out with me. Ride out and meet them.

    Theoden: For death and glory.

Aragorn: For Rohan. For your people.

  • Sam: I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.

Frodo: What are we holding onto, Sam?

Sam: That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo... and it's worth fighting for.

  • John Connor :

By the time SkyNet became self-aware it had spread into millions of computer servers all across the planet. Ordinary computers in office buildings, dorm rooms, everywhere. It was software, in cyberspace. There was no system core. It could not be shut down. The attack began at 6:18 P.M. just as he said it would. Judgment Day. The day the human race was nearly destroyed by the weapons they built to protect themselves. I should have realized our destiny was never to stop Judgment Day; it was merely to survive it. Together. The Terminator knew. He tried to tell us, but I didn't want to hear it. Maybe the future has been written. I don't know. All I know is what the Terminator taught me. Never stop fighting. And I never will. The battle has just begun.

T3 wasn't a great film, but it had it's moments.

  • Ducard: If you devote yourself to an ideal, and if they can’t stop you, then you become something else entirely.

    Bruce: Which is?

    Ducard: A legend, Mr. Wayne.

  • Lt. James Gordon: Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight.

  • The Joker: Why so serious?

  • Jor-El : What if a child dreamed of becoming something other than what society had intended? What if a child aspired to something greater?

  • Lara Lor-Van : His name is Kal, son of El, and he's beyond your reach.

  • Professor X: Mutants. Since the discovery of their existence they have been regarded with fear, suspicion, often hatred. Across the planet, debate rages. Are mutants the next link in the evolutionary chain or simply a new species of humanity fighting for their share of the world? Either way it is a historical fact: Sharing the world has never been humanity's defining attribute.

  • Private Hudson: That's it, man. Game over, man. Game over!

    Bill Paxton R.I.P.

  • Mufasa's Ghost: Remember who you are. You are my son and the one true king.
