I decided to make a list of the best X-Men quotes of all the time.

The quotes from the comics, movies & cartoons.

Enjoy !

List items

  • " Mutants. Since the discovery of their existence they have been regarded with fear, suspicion, often hatred. Across the planet, debate rages. Are mutants the next link in the evolutionary chain or simply a new species of humanity fighting for their share of the world? Either way it is a historical fact: Sharing the world has never been humanity's defining attribute."

    X2 Movie

  • " We live in an age of darkness: a world full of fear, hate and intolerance. But in every age, there are those who fight against it. Charles Xavier was born into a world divided, a world he tried to heal... a mission he never saw accomplished. It seems it's the destiny of great men to see their goals unfulfilled. Charles was more than a leader, more than a teacher. He was a friend. When we were afraid, he gave us strength. When we were alone, he gave us a family. He may be gone, but his teachings live on through us, his students. Wherever we may go, we must carry on his vision. And that is a vision of a world united "

    X-Men: The Last Stand

  • " Cry, girl. It’s ok. It Ain’t the dying you should be afraid of, Jubilation. We all do that. But it’s not living your life T’ the fullest before your time… that should frighten you, girl. It starts with a single death in Washington DC. The assassin is Gambit but all mutants get blamed. People are afraid, they want action. They want protection, they want revenge.

Mutant control law is passed, calling for army of Sentinals. They march over nation, seeking out mutants, hunting them down like animals. Some fight back, but not for long. The sentinels herds the surviving mutants into detention camps. The camps are your final stop, you never leave, never !

In these times -- these awful, fractious times -- we...are all we have left. I'm taking the X-Club on a mission come daylight. I'll be gone some time. But when I get back, we're having it all out, do you hear me? These secrets will kill us. And I won't stick around to watch it happen."

    Uncanny X-Men 511

I have helped to save the universe, more than once. I have done all this and more and yet the hardest thing I have ever done was watch helplessly as my sister's life was taken by the Legacy Virus. Someday, there may be a cure that does not require a sacrifice. Someday, the violence will end. Someday... children like Illyana will not be victims of a war they are not a part of. But I cannot stand by for even one hour knowing somewhere, someone else's little sister is dying from this disease. Snowflake. I am coming home."

I've stood side by side with the toughest, most powerful heroes in the known universe and always held my own. But today... today I need to be something more. So go ahead, call me a joke if you want. Label me the X-Man with the lamest power ever. But a man of untapped potential? Don't you dare ever call me that again!"

    Wolverine and the X-Men #2

  • " I had a thousand daughters. A thousand bright lights, a thousand little minds...slowly awakening, blinking and shining...and you snuffed them out. Maybe you're just Jean Grey, gone insane. You know what I mean. All of you know what I mean. He was a soldier. To the last ounch and inch of him. Cable was a soldier and there are three blessing a soldier prays for.

To fight for things that matter. Things that are real. To find comrades who they love and trust, to fight alongside him. And to die on his feet.

You see someone lying in a pool of their own blood, eyes pleading for help,, does it matter … could it ever possibly matter.. What label society has put on her? It’s funny, the worse things get, the more prejudice and blind hatred I see,,, The more important… the more necessary Professor Xavier’s dream seems to me. With out it, life just becomes chaos."

-this is a great idea for a list!

I think Cyclops and Kitty deserve better quotes, though. I know they've both got some

"everything is so fragile; there's so much conflict, so much pain.. you keep waiting for the dust to settle, and then you realize: this is it. The dust is your life going on. If happy comes along, that weird, unbearable delight that's actual happy? I think you have to grab it while you can, take what you can get. 'Cause it's here.. and then, gone." -KP

<this is also a line I quote a lot..

Thanks, glad you like the list. That was pretty cool quote from Cyclops. I still love the quote I pick him, telling the Avengers to go to hell. I still think this motion comic things is a waste of money. Marvel could given us a real X-Men animated movies.

Thanks, you should create a list too. Some of the quotes I pick were pretty cool. Love the Bishop, Magneto and Chuck quote. I could of pick a better Cyclops quote. I do think the Kitty quote from Astonishing X-Men is her best quote. Loved her putting Emma Frost in her place. Your Kitty quote pretty cool too.

@time: The Marvel Knights stuff has all been great and it's a totally different division then their animation so it doesn't take away from the cartoons.

I just don't like them. I think it would of been better to have Animated movie of the gifted story arc instead of the motion comic thing. I mean how many DC animated movies are there. It's time Marvel gave us more animated movies. If not Marvel, why can't Fox give us X-Men animated movies. There so many stories they can do.

I loved the quote for Wolverine. It was one of the best panels between Wolverine and Jubilee.

I just read your quote you used for Cable yesterday. A lot of these quotes are from the 90's. I am currently reading Fabian Nicieza and Scott Lobdell's runs from the 90's. I am reading X-Force, X-Men, and Uncanny X-Men. I am currently on Fatal Attractions and about to read X-Men 25. I am really liking it so far.

Sorry for late reply I've been very busy. It's great moment between Wolverine and Jubilee. Maybe not Wolverine best quote, but still one of my favourites. The 90's were good times for X-Men comics. Some great stories back then. Fatal attraction is great story. I hope you enjoy it.

Have you seen the animated series from the 90's. You should watched that too.

Back then, Marvel care about the X-Men. Can't believe the X-Men might not appear in MVC 4.

@time1: The 80s and 90s were my favorites. Currently I am almost done with the 2000s, I am at Messiah Complex, and the entire decade feels mediocre compared to the 80s and 90s. I don't know why the 90s seem to get so much hate on the forums. I really liked Lobdell and Nicieza.

I watched it when I was a young girl, but I don't remember much about it. It was what originally got me into X-Men. I have re-watched a few episodes recently and I still liked it.

Yes, it is sad. X-Men are my favorite thing from Marvel. Sad that Marvel doesn't want to acknowledge them.
