Canonically (according to the Killing Floor 2 promo movie by Tripwire), the ZEDs were ripping through steel doors with their fists and breaking through walls. They were also biting through kevlar armor with their teeth and destroying modern military armor with their fists. Stipe probably stops at the Alpha Clot.
