Shikamaru Nara Respect Thread [Unfinished]

Ninjutsu
Shadow Possession Jutsu
Shikamaru's signature jutsu is the Shadow Possession, where he uses his own shadow to link up with another person's shadow. This allows him to take control of their movements, making them copy everything he does.
Here's Shikamaru catching Dosu in it and making him cup his hands over his head:
Shikamaru catches Naruto in his Shadow Possession before he can step on a trip wire:
Shikamaru can enlarge or shrink his shadows as long as they don't go over their normal surface area, as shown here when he thinned his shadow to barely noticeable and tricked Kin into thinking her string was what was causing the shadow on the floor:
Shikamaru's shadow is able to cover about 30 feet and catch Hidan before he could stab himself in the chest:
This is the distance his shadow covered before Hidan could move his weapon less than a foot:
Here's Temari explaining to herself about how Shikamaru can use other shadows to further lengthen his own and add to its total surface area:
I'm going to assume about 15 years after the end of the manga, when Shikamaru is older and now has his own son old enough to participate to become a Chunin, his Shadow Possession Jutsu was strong enough to capture both Kinshiki and Momoshiki Ootsutsuki. Kinshiki and Momoshiki are related to Kaguya, and Momoshiki was able to go toe-to-toe with Sasuke in terms of physical might:
Shadow Strangle Jutsu

Tayuya remarks that she feels a pressure from Shikamaru's shadow as it travels up her body to strangle her. Ultimately, however, Shikamaru would be too low on chakra to actually finish her off with this move:
Shadow Stitch Jutsu
Shikamaru is able to use his shadows to pierce and hold a target in place, like he did against Hidan to restrict his movements while also doing damage to him:
Shikamaru's Shadow Stitching destroys all of Sai's summoned animals:
Genjutsu Release
Shikamaru was able to use a Genjutsu Release after Kabuto tried to put everyone watching the Chunin Exams to sleep:
Speed
Shikamaru dodges needles thrown at him by Kin:

Shikamaru is able to evade attacks from all three of Tayuya's summonings:

Intelligence
Shikamaru sends his shadows along Kin's string to capture her, and uses her position relative to the wall behind her to knock her out. He disguises this by feigning an attack by throwing shuriken at each other. He also states that he can shrink and enlarge his shadow at will:
Asuma tells Kurenai that Shikamaru has always beat him at Shogi, a game that originated to allow war generals practice at coming up with strategies, and that he once had Shikamaru take an IQ test. He scored over a 200, putting him at the level of a genius:
Shikamaru chose to wait during his fight with Temari so that the sun would set behind him and make a larger shadow from the stadium wall, this increasing the length he could send out his own shadow:
Right before the above feat, Shikamaru created a parachute from his forehead protector, jacket, and a kunai. He threw two kunai at Temari before to distract her while he sent his shadow at her from below. All of this was to keep her attention away from the sky so that she couldn't shoot down his parachute, which added to his shadow and allowed him to stretch it out even further:
This was all part of a bigger plan, however, where Shikamaru intended to lure Temari behind the hole Naruto dug in his fight against Neji and use the two connecting holes to capture Temari in the jutsu. The hole Naruto came out of was behind her, and once she thought she was safe after Shikamaru's shadow started retreating, she let her guard down and that's when Shikamaru struck. He sent his shadow under the tunnel, using its shadow to make his longer, which allowed him to capture her:
Shikamaru states that he had thought up of about 200 more moves to use in his fight with Temari:
Even as a Genin, Shikamaru knew the pros and cons of staging an ambush:
Shikamaru creates false tracks to trick Sound ninja Jounin into following him instead of Naruto, Sakura, and Pakkun, and even uses small twigs to make fake dog tracks:
Shikamaru throws ninja stars and kunai at the captured Sound ninja in order to have their last trailing member save them and reveal where he was hiding:
Shikamaru outlines a strategy for how his team will follow the Sound Four through Konoha's wilderness. He placed Kiba at the front, knowing that his sense of smell coupled with Akamaru's would allow them to better locate the enemy as well as any traps, placed himself second to better give orders to Kiba and hand signals to the other members behind him, placed Naruto third because he can reinforce either the front or the back with his multiple Shadow Clones, put Choji fourth because of his amazing striking power to use in their eventual attack, and put Neji last because of his Byakugan, which would allow him survey both the front and be able to see anything they missed behind them:
Shikamaru set up a trap that allowed him to catch the Sound Four in his Shadow Possession. When Kiba and Naruto were pulled out of their hiding spot by Kidomaru, Kiba threw a smoke bomb in the space between the two groups and under the cover of smoke, Shikamaru sent out his shadow and captured them:
After being captured by Jirobo's Earth Style jutsu, Shikamaru devised a strategy to break his team out of the dome. After Kiba attacked the walls and after they healed all the damage, Neji confirmed that Jirobo was sucking away their chakra and using it to both refuel himself and fix the damage down to the wall. Shikamaru however noticed that certain parts repaired themselves slower than others, and made conversation with Jirobo to figure out where he was located outside the dome. He then instructed Choji to attack a certain part of the wall that he knew was away from Jirobo and thus had a smaller saturation of chakra, allowing Choji to break through and set them free:
Shikamaru devised a plan to steal Sasuke's gourd from Tayuya and Sakon that used him, Naruto, and Kiba. Naruto made Shadow Clones and had them transform into Kiba and Shikamaru and after Sakon came charging and took out the clones, Naruto began to charge his Rasengan to use it against the Sound shinobi. When Sakon grabbed Naruto's hand and prevented him from using the Rasengan, Kiba cam charging in from behind to strike at Sakon and Naruto, who was also a clone. Sakon dodged, but since he was in line with Tayuya, Kiba went straight for her, which was the goal all along. However, as Tayuya began to brace for combat, Shikamaru trapped her in his Shadow Possession Jutsu. The real goal, however, was for Kiba to trick Tayuya into thinking he was attacking her but to grab Sasuke's gourd instead, which he was free to do since Tayuya was trapped by Shikamaru. Shikamaru then maneuvered so that Tayuya bumped into Sakon, who had jumped towards her and couldn't change course:
Shikamaru is able to learn that Tayuya controls her summons by playing certain notes with her flute:
Shikamaru realizes that the ethereal worm-like things attacking him can't be hit by tangible options so he chooses to leave behind a paper bomb and smoke bomb to escape and hide himself:
Shikamaru comes up with a plan to capture Tayuya's own summons and use them against her. He set up traps and fired single kunai from various places to learn what moves her summons would take to block them, and then revealed himself before setting off a flashbang grenade to enlarge the summons' shadows in order for him to capture them:
To add onto the feat from above, Shikamaru was able to discover how Tayuya controlled her summons by matching her fingers on her flute to what that note made a summon do:
Shikamaru's real plan, though, was to trick Tayuya into thinking that capturing her summons was his main goal, which distracted her from his real target, which was to sneak his Shadow Possession Jutsu around the trees and under her feet:
Shikamaru pretended to be caught by Tayuya's Genjutsu in order to draw her in close so that he could initiate his Shadow Strangle Jutsu. After being told that her only weapon was her flute, he knew she didn't have any kunai or shuriken, so he threw one of his at a tree branch in front of her so she would pick it up and try to use it to stab him. After she did so and was about to stab him, he got up from his position on the ground and punched her in the gut, revealing that he had used his shadow to break his finger and from the pain caused by that, broke him out of her Genjutsu:
Shikamaru is able to discern how Hidan's jutsu works by listening to the type of words he used, by watching and taking note of his mannerisms, the type of weapon he used, etc. Shikamaru noticed that Hidan's weapon wasn't the sort to try and kill you in one hit, but one that would draw blood, which is the main component of the jutsu. When Asuma attacked with his Burning Ash jutsu, Hidan completely ignored it and immediately ran to the symbol he drew on the ground. Because of this, Shikamaru figured out that after Hidan draws the symbol on the ground with a target's blood, he can then transfer any injury Hidan himself receives onto the person's whose blood was drawn. His theory proved right when after he removed Hidan from the circle, Asuma cut the immortals' ear and wasn't harmed himself:
Durability
Shikamaru is thrown by Naruto out of the stands and into the Chunin Exams arena. The third scan shows how high the fall was:
Shikamaru is able to shrug off being near a triple paper bomb:
Shikamaru is able to survive being at the center of Kakuzu's punch that destroyed a part of the building he was sitting on:
