"You were right. I'm supposed to bring you in alive. But 'alive' just means breathing." (Star Wars Issue #06)
"Boba Fett! Please, we need your help! And we've seen what you do -- you hunt bad men, murderers, criminals --"
"No...I hunt bounties." (Star Wars: Age of Rebellion - Boba Fett)
We all know him. We all (should) love him. We're starting to get some better feats for Boba Fett and hopefully have him be the badass we knew he was in the EU/Legends continuity. This will be my Respect Thread for the Canon version of Fett, and will eventually include his teen feats from TCW (The Clone Wars show) as well. Respect the unaltered clone, the man, the myth, the bounty hunter legend.

This will be my companion Respect Thread to Tectonic's Updated Avatar Korra Respect Thread he started in the later half of 2020. I will do my best to use the blueprint Tectonic laid out while also trying to incorporate my own layout.
This thread is NOT:
An opinion piece, it will essentially be a evidence/feats depository, and the intro's and captions will be careful to not have hyperbole in describing the images and gifs shown
There will be no scaling or character stacking to avoid escalation and inflammation, other characters will be rarely brought up who aren't directly related
There won't be calcs or pixel scaling, those types of analysis aren't needed here since it isn't a VS comparison
And, most importantly, IS NOT a way to somehow show that Aang is superior. There are no alternative motives to making this RT (like wanting to remind people about Aang and not get caught up on Korra, trying to one-up Korra's feats by using one's of Aang's that are better, etc.). This is simply a companion RT so that both of the Avatar's people love will have updated and immersive places where fans can look for any feat they want.
With that out of the way...
The Thread contents will be uploaded in Four Parts -
Part 1: Mastery of the Four Elements
Part 2: Physical Stats (Strength, Durability, Speed, Acrobatics, etc.)
Part 3: Spirituality and the Avatar State
Part 4: Aang's Legacy (Stats, Accomplishments, Hype, Future)
The Mandalorian, also known as Din Djarin, is a male human Mandalorian bounty hunter active in the galaxy during the year 9 ABY (After the Battle of Yavin (Ep. IV)). He is a Foundling, which means that he was an orphan taken into the care of Mandalorians after his parents were killed during the Clone Wars. The Mandalorian is shot by a group of about eight Jawas with their pulse guns that either tased him or shut down his armor and locked him up, which caused him to fall off their sandcrawler and land on top of a rocky outcropping. He was either unconscious for some extended period of time but he didn't require any special medical attention after falling 20 something feet straight onto his back. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 2]
The Mandalorian is sent flying out of a cave after taking a hit from a Mudhorn. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 2]
The Mandalorian shrugs off being stabbed in the shoulder by a vibroknife and then being slammed in the face with a small energy shield by Paz Vizsla. - [Book of Boba Fett: Season 1 Episode 5]
The Mandalorian is equipped with a set of beskar armor that resembles the great Boba Fett. It consists of the traditional Mandalorian helmet with the T-shaped visor, a chest piece, shoulder, arm, shin, and knee guards.
His body is shielded by beskar armor, his face hidden behind a T-visored mask, and his past is wrapped in mystery. No one is quite sure who this well-equipped stranger is. The Mandalorian is battle-worn and tight-lipped, a formidable bounty hunter in an increasingly dangerous galaxy.
The right shoulder guard is able to protect the Mandalorian from a blaster bolt. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 1]
The Mandalorian is given a piece of beskar from The Client as a down payment for his bounty, and he takes that piece to a smith and has a new shoulder piece made for his right shoulder. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 1]

The Mandalorian blocks all of Moff Gideon's strikes with the Darksaber on his armor, including his jetpack, helmet, and gauntlets. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 16]
A Mandalorian's gadgetry can include many hidden elements to surprise their enemies. On the wrist bracers of their armor, a small flame thrower can be concealed as well as a marvel known as "whistling birds," a flock of dart-like missiles loaded into the slender recessed sleeve.
"Whistling Birds are a powerful defense against multiple enemies. Use them sparingly, for they are rare."
Source: The Armorer, The Mandalorian Chapter 3
The Mandalorian has two Whistling Birds crafted into his new gauntlets as a replacement for the signet he refused from the Armorer in the Mandalorian covert. The Whistling Birds act as small seeking blasts, and even when they were technically aimed at the ground, they still flew up and around to hit the four stormtroopers surrounding the Mandalorian. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 3]
The Mandalorian uses his Whistling Birds to take out four targets who had blaster pistols aimed at him from all around, all within five feet of him. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 9]
The Mandalorian uses his Whistling Birds to take out several Pykes firing at him and Boba Fett from various places of cover. - [Book of Boba Fett: Season 1 Episode 7]
The Mandalorian uses his flamethrower to get a Mudhorn to stop pressing him into the ground with its horn. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 2]
The Mandalorian uses his flamethrower to fry a stormtrooper, which also reveals that he has a flamethrower in each gauntlet. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 3]
Fiber-cord
Among the Mandalorian's tools of the trade, a grapple line makes an essential tether to prevent a fatal fall or corral an enemy.
The Mandalorian has a fiber-cord in his right gauntlet that he uses to trip people up or to grab objects from afar. Here he uses one to trip a Quarren and prevent him from escaping outside. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 1]
The Mandalorian uses his fiber-cord to pull on a large turret, twisting it one direction and forcing the gunner to flail and let go of the controls. This left the gunner wide open to be taken out with the Mandalorian's blaster pistol and allow him to commandeer the turret. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 1]
The Mandalorian uses his fiber-cord to pull a stormtrooper towards him and kill him with his vibro-knife. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 3]
The Mandalorian catches a thug's feet with his fiber cord from a good distance away, and then uses that to hang him up from a light pole. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 9]
Amban Sniper Rifle
The Mandalorian is outfitted with an assortment of tools at his disposal, including a crude long arm phase-pulse Amban sniper rifle tipped with a forked ion prod electro-bayonet.
The Mandalorian uses his rifle to zap and taze a large creature, forcing it to release his ship's landing support. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 1]
We're given a look at how well the scope is for the Amban Sniper is when the Mandalorian uses it to scope out the area after he lands on a planet. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 1]
The Mandalorian can use this gun for melee purposes, this time defending from Trandoshan wielding ax weapons. The Mandalorian uses it as a club to attack them with and also quickly shocks a Trandoshan and knocks him back. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 2]
The Mandalorian can also fire special bullets from this gun that disintegrates its targets on impact. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 2]

The Mandalorian says that the handle of the Darksaber is of a quality of beskar he has never seen before, and the Armorer tells him that it was forged 1,000 years ago by the Mandalorian Jedi Tarre Vizsla. - [Book of Boba Fett: Season 1 Episode 5]
Beskar Spear
The Mandalorian uses the beskar spear and stabs a Darktrooper in the neck, managing to damage its neck and take it out despite his blaster, flamethrower, and Whistling Birds not doing nay damage. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 16]
The Mandalorian uses the beskar spear and defeats Moff Gideon using the Darksaber. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 16]
The Mandalorian stabs one fighter and throws his blade into another running at him, killing them both. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 9]
Explosives
The Mandalorian has adhesive explosives that are powerful enough to blow a hole in a wall. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 3]
Flash Charge
The Mandalorian has a Flash Charge that he can use to stun an enemy with a blindly bright light. He uses this when he and another bounty hunter are pinned down by a sniper on Tatooine and uses the bright light to overload the sniper's scope:
Flash charges are a part of the Mandalorian's arsenal, a simple tool of the trade that can blind an enemy's scope temporarily to avoid getting picked off by a deadly sniper.
The Mandalorian has a small telescope he can use to scout out a location. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 1]
Other Weapons
On the Razor Crest, the Mandalorian keeps a veritable arsenal behind locked doors, with everything from easy-to-conceal blasters to thermal detonators.
We see in a compartment in the Mandalorian's ship that he has a display case of at least 11 other guns, not counting the blaster pistol he keeps at his side. - [The Mandalorian, Chapter 1]
These were most likely lost when the Razor Crest was destroyed.

In the anime:
While helping to test scientific ninja tools, Boruto helps use a flying device but since it still needs some work on its motion control, it sends Boruto flying into a wall. - (Boruto Ch. 18)

Boruto is sent flying when he is smacked away by the monster Boro and although he is fine after the first hit, Boro slams him into the ground again and appears to knock him out. - (Boruto Ch. 43)
Skill/Taijutsu
Boruto uses Sasuke Uchiha's old move against Iwabe, first kicking him up high, following with a punch up high, and then ending by twisting his body to bring his other leg up to kick up top again. - (Boruto Episode 2)
Boruto is able to trick Iwabe with his Shadow Clones and then hit him with a three-piece combo with his real body and two clones. Boruto's skills and attack right here were enough to piss off Iwabe into using his staff, which he said he wouldn't use before the fight. So despite the Academy teachers all praising his taijutsu, Boruto was still able to hold his own and get the better of Iwabe. - (Boruto Episode 2)
Boruto makes good use of his Shadow Clones in a spar with his aunt Hanabi, creating a clone in close quarters and swinging it at Hanabi, creating a clone after being thrown in the air to push off of him to shoot at Hanabi, and then throwing a kunai at Hanabi's head knowing she would dodge it so that the clone behind her would deflect the knife back at her, forcing her to dodge again. - (Boruto Episode 9)

Boruto nonchalantly hits the center bullseye on a target with a shuriken. - (Boruto Ch. 12)
In the fight against Ao, Boruto planned to have the now cyborg ninja wield the Chakra Blade and force him to hold onto it, knowing how fast it drains a user's chakra when active. The rest of his team, Sarada Uchiha, Mitsuki, and Konohamaru fire off jutsu after jutsu at Ao, forcing him to use the scientific ninja tool he acquired on his arm to absorb it. Boruto then followed it up by sending a clone to attack him from above with the Chakra Blade, hoping and successfully forcing Ao to defend him and making him believe the Chakra Blade was important to Boruto when he was relieved of it. Ao then grabbed the Chakra Blade to stab Boruto's clone but Mitsuki came in and wrapped his arm around Ao's hand, making him hold onto and keep holding on to the blade and thus draining him of his energy enough to slow him down. - (Boruto Ch. 21)
Boruto then uses his own chakra absorption gauntlet to cancel out Ao's, which lets his Rasengan make contact with Ao and deal significant damage to his chakra absorption gauntlet and render it useless. - (Boruto Ch. 21)
Boruto arms one of his clones with his chakra absorbing gauntlet in order to trick Ao into believing it was the real one, while Boruto hid underneath him and cut him nearly on two with the Chakra Blade after tricking Ao. - (Boruto Ch. 22)
Equipment
A "*" indicates that Boruto only used this piece of equipment for a short time and is not what he carries around as standard.
Scientific Ninja Tool*
The Scientific Ninja Tool was created by Konoha's Scientific Ninja Tool Corps. in order to make using higher-end jutsu easier and to make the lives of Shinobi far less taxing and gruesome by ensuring that a ninja doesn't need to push their body to the limit in order to train. Any jutsu can be stored in this tool by simply using it on a special scroll that absorbs and contains the jutsu then shrinks to almost the size of a large pill that can then be used with the tool, basically allowing whoever wields the Scientific Ninja Tool the ability to use whatever jutsu was on the scroll. Konohamaru used it to tie up a large panda with Shikamaru's Shadow Paralysis Jutsu and then showed Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki how the tool works by putting his Rasengan in a scroll and firing it off. - (Boruto Ch. 01)
Boruto uses Water Bullet Jutsu to flood the roof of a building and prevent a group of Mist ninja from taking his team's flag in the second part of the Chunin Exams. - (Boruto Ch. 03)
In the anime:
Boruto then follows that up with a Lightning Bullet Ibuki Jutsu to shock and knockout all of the enemy Genin. - (Boruto Ch. 03)
In the anime:
Boruto is able to use his shuriken training he had been doing with Sasuke Uchiha in tandem with his Scientific Ninja Tool to throw a shuriken straight but not directed at Yurui and then have a Wind Style Jutsu go off and send it flying to the side. This allowed the shuriken to cut Yurui's bubble he was blowing and blow it up in his face, knocking him out. - (Boruto Ch. 04)
In the anime:
There are three different versions to this event where Boruto uses his Scientific Ninja Tool to escape Shikadai's Shadow Paralysis Jutsu. One is where Boruto creates dozens of Shadow Clones to surround Shikadai and one is where he creates only one behind the original and forces Shikadai to release the jutsu to dodge a thrown kunai. - (Boruto Ch. 04)
In the anime:
Chakra Blade*
The Chakra Blade is a scientific ninja tool that uses one's own chakra to create the weapon's blade, hence the name. You hold the handle, pull the trigger with your index finger while pressing a button with your thumb, and the tool takes your own chakra to form a blade. - (Boruto Ch. 18)
The one major drawback though is the Chakra Blade at this time currently has too high of a chakra expenditure to be a practical weapon in combat. When Boruto had this active for no more than a few minutes while he and his team were going over their plan to combat Ao, he felt wobbly and fell over, saying he could feel the blade sucking the strength right out of him. - (Boruto Ch. 18/21)
Paper Bomb
Even during his Academy days, Boruto was using Paper Bombs. - (Boruto Episode 6)
Boruto uses a sort of flashbang weapon to try and stun Hanabi in their spar. - (Boruto Episode 9)
Foam Spray
On his mission to check on Konohamaru Sarutobi by the crashed airship that held Kawaki, Boruto is given a few Foam Sprays by the former Class Rep from the Academy. These Foam Sprays spray a healing foam that boosts one's own innate healing powers, heals wounds, and become film-like and seal open cuts. - (Boruto Ch. 18)
Ninjutsu
Boruto is able to use Wind Style, Lightning Style, and Water Style jutsu by the time he takes the Chunin Exams. - (Boruto Ch. 01)
m
Boruto notes that he was able to pick up the tree climbing exercise quickly and that it was super easy to do, showcasing that he has tremendous chakra control. - (Boruto Ch. 35)
Kakashi explains the technique for climbing trees helps to gain better chakra control and build stamina in order to use ninjutsu effectively in a fight and to make sure one isn't wasting too much energy when performing a jutsu/can keep chakra control throughout a battle. - (Naruto Ch. 17/18)
Shadow Clone Jutsu
Boruto learned how to create three Shadow Clones without any training. - (Boruto Ch. 01)
Although the reason Boruto was able to catch on so quick to this jutsu was most likely because of it being Naruto's own signature jutsu, Shadow Clone jutsu is still a high level technique from a forbidden scroll that was locked away and forbidden to use by the First Hokage. - (Naruto Ch. 01)
The Shadow Clone Technique is actually a Jounin level jutsu. - (Naruto Ch. 100)
Boruto uses three Shadow Clones to help throw his main body up at least two stories of the Academy building. - (Boruto Episode 4)
By the time of the Chunin Exams, Boruto is able to create four clones of himself. - (Boruto Ch. 03)
Boruto uses his Shadow Clones to take out four members of the Mujina Clan. - (Boruto Ch. 14)
Rasengan
The Rasengan is a jutsu that concentrates chakra into the user's palm and creates a swirling vortex of it, capable of blowing people back dozens of feet even in its weakest version. It was molded after the Bijuu Bomb and is a class A jutsu.
Boruto goes through nearly the same methods that Naruto did back in the day in learning how to create and use the Rasengan, and after only a few days, is able to create a small one by focusing with both of his hands, not too different from how Naruto first made his. - (Boruto Ch. 02)
While Boruto's Rasengan is incredibly small and nowhere near the size of a completed and mastered Rasengan, it has a unique ability to be thrown, vanish halfway along its journey, and then reappear to detonate later, becoming a "Vanishing Rasengan". - (Boruto Ch. 02)
Here's Sasuke Uchiha describing the Vanishing Rasengan. Boruto unconsciously changed it's chakra nature to make it vanish and is able to throw it to make it a ranged attack. - (Boruto Ch. 09)
Boruto uses his Vanishing Rasengan against Momoshiki Ohtsutsuki, which is brushed off because it disappears before it connects but then knocks Momoshiki over on his side (in the anime). - (Boruto Ch. 08/09)
Here it is in the anime. - (Episode )
In the anime:
After the fight against Momoshiki and Kinshiki Ohtsutsuki, Boruto is able to create a normal sized Rasengan. - (Boruto Ch. 14)
Boruto's Rasengan sends Shojoji flying across a room strong enough to make a hole in a wall, with this being the damage it did to the wall. - (Boruto Ch. 14)
Boruto is still able to throw his normal sized Rasengan. - (Boruto Ch. 16)
At this point in time, Naruto says Boruto has a nice Rasengan and that he's been working on it to improve it. - (Boruto Ch. 16)
Boruto uses his Rasengan to send Ao flying away into the side of a building. - (Boruto Ch. 22)
Boruto's Rasengan is able to destroy Boro's arm up until his forearm. Boro immediately regenerates it though. - (Boruto Ch. 42)
Transformation Jutsu
Boruto transforms himself into Shikadai to trick Metal Lee. - (Boruto Episode 3)
Boruto knows the Transformation Jutsu and transforms himself into a woman. - (Boruto Ch. 12)
Lightning Triplet
Boruto can combine his Lightning Triplet Jutsu with the shuriken jutsu Sasuke Uchiha was teaching him to create even deadlier shuriken attacks. This amps the speed and cutting power of the shuriken with his lightning, however we don't see the extent or how powerful and dangerous they are since they're repelled and then dodged by Boruto. - (Boruto Ch. 14)
Thunder Bolt
Boruto can use the Raiton Style Jutsu Thunder Bolt, where he basically throws a bolt of lightning with his hands at a target. He uses this in tandem with his Wave Surge Jutsu to charge the water he summoned to make it even deadlier in a spar with Naruto. - (Boruto Ch. 16)
Under the effects of Karma, Boruto's Thunder Bolt jutsu manages to destroy one of Naruto's Shadow Clones. - (Boruto Ch. 29)
Water Style, Wave Surge
Boruto is able to use the Wave Surge Jutsu, creating a large amount of water without any outside source to supplement him. The amount of water Boruto summons can be seen here when Naruto makes a wide earth wall to dam it off, and this was the size of the arena they were fighting in. - (Boruto Ch. 16)
Summoning Jutsu
The Summoning Jutsu is a jutsu where the caster makes a pact with blood with an animal that allows them to summon them wherever they want.
Boruto is able to summon Nue, a large chimera, without seemingly signing a contract with it. The entire body of Nue doesn't appear, however, just its tail, which still damages the roof of the Academy and knocks Chocho off the edge. - (Boruto Episode 4)
Nue can absorb chakra through its tail, grows in size when it absorbs chakra, and then can be detonated when it has enough chakra to become a large bomb. Its original purpose was to be sent into enemy territory, go on a rampage, and then be detonated for maximum damage. - (Boruto Episode 13)
Karma
After Momoshiki Ohtsutsuki's defeat, he was able to implant a Karma into Boruto's right palm. - (Boruto Ch. 10)
Karma is when an Ohtsutsuki basically converts themselves into a backup file and implant it into a host's body. This eventually allows the Ohtsutsuki to slowly overwrite and take over the host's body. - (Boruto Ch. 46)
Karma's limitation is that it cannot absorb physical matter but only energy or chakra matter. By that, it means that Karma can absorb a jutsu that makes water but not a jutsu that pulls water from an already existing source. - (Boruto Ch. 41)
Boruto uses his Karma to absorb the Trance of True Flames, flames of purgatory that can't be put out by normal means, in order to save his sensei Konohamaru. - (Boruto Ch. 23)
Boruto protects his team from the after effects of Kawaki's large chakra blast. - (Boruto Ch. 25)
Karma increases ones physical abilities and even Naruto comments that he feels Boruto brimming with more power than before after Kawaki helped him activate it. - (Boruto Ch. 29)
Naruto notes that Boruto's speed, power, and strength of his jutsu are all increased when he used his Karma in their spar. - (Boruto Ch. 29)
Boruto can use his Karma in tandem with Kawaki's to open a space-time portal, which allows them to teleport to where Naruto was being held. - (Boruto Ch. 39)
Boruto uses his Karma to absorb acid fired at Kawaki. - (Boruto Ch. 40)
Boruto and Kawaki use their Karma to teleport Naruto out of the container that he was sealed in. - (Boruto Ch. 43)
Transformation
Through his Karma, Boruto appears to be able to partially transform into Momoshiki Ohtsutsuki (he sprouts a horn on the right side of his head) in the same way Nine Tails used to emerge in Naruto back in the day, that being in desperate life-or-death situations.
Momoshiki appears to partially transform in Boruto and save him from being pummeled to death by the monster Boro. - (Boruto Ch. 43)
In this form, Boruto, or Borushiki, can fly and is strong enough to destroy monster Boro's arm with a kick as well as kick his whole body away. - (Boruto Ch. 43)
In this form, Boruto, or Borushiki, can absorb chakra from someone through the Karma mark. He absorbs some of Naruto's chakra, kicks monster Boro around a bit, and then kills him with an extremely large Rasengan. - (Boruto Ch. 43)
Jougan
Jougan is a unique ocular ability that manifests in Boruto's right eye. It looks almost like a Byakugan without any pupil in the eye, but doesn't flex the veins around the eyes like the Byakugan does. Boruto doesn't know how to consciously activate this ability so far.
Toneri Ohtsutsuki talks to Boruto through his dream and tells him that his Jougan is the only hope against the destruction that he says will eventually come to pass. - (Boruto Episode 8)
He then further tells Boruto that his Jougan will help him shoulder the fate of the world. - (Boruto Episode 8)
Boruto's Jougan instinctively activates and notices a shadow possessing Denki. - (Boruto Episode 1)
This isn't just a one-time thing either, Boruto's Jougan activates whenever he comes into contact with and sees someone who is being possessed by the shadow, this time seeing it had overtook his Academy teacher Shino Aburame. - (Boruto Episode 6)
Boruto's Jougan opens up a portal on Nue and teleports him away to another dimension. His eye then opens a portal above himself, Sumire, and Mitsuki, which allows them to go into the same dimension. - (Boruto Episode 13)
Bultar Swan was a female Human who trained with and served the Jedi Order during the final decades of the Galactic Republic. After becoming a Jedi Knight, Swan was routinely sent on peace missions, including one to the Fondor system to investigate the alleged reappearance of an ancient starship and to mediate a dispute over salvage rights to the vessel. In 22 BBY (years before the Battle of Yavin), Swan was dispatched to the Sepan system to negotiate the cessation of a decades-long civil war, and later in the year, she joined a massive Jedi strike team that was sent to the planet Geonosis to rescue two Jedi and a Republic Senator, who were due to be executed by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The ensuing battle launched a three-year galactic conflict known as the Clone Wars, during which Swan served the Republic as a Jedi General. She led Republic forces into battle on worlds such as Aagonar and Amaltanna; a battle on the latter world saw all of her troops die at the hands of the Separatist Droid Army. Swan would be a part of the Clone Wars until the end of the conflict, which saw Chancellor Palpatine execute Order 66 as Darth Sidious, causing all clone troopers around the galaxy to turn on their Jedi Generals, killing most of them in the process. Swan would survive the attack and soon meet up with other survivors on Kessel, but were led into a trap that brought Darth Vader to them from one of their own. Swan was killed when another Jedi chose to try and kill Vader in cold blood, striking down Swan beforehand.

Bultar had an unusual fighting style that combined teras kasi and Verdanaian "sliding hands" methods, which required her to maintain physical contact with her opponent to judge their moves. She was taught these styles by Anoon Bondara and Micah Giett and later by Plo Koon to combine all she new before with a strong lightsaber defense. This resulted in a fluid and acrobatic style where she aimed to block her opponent's attacks with her lightsaber and aim to disarm them before switching to unarmed combat to force them to submission:
Part of Bultar Swan's expertise in combat came from her unusual fighting style, a blend of teras kasi and Verdanaian "sliding hands" methods that required her to maintain physical contact with her foes to judge their next moves. She learned this combination of styles from Anoon Bondara and Master Micah Giett. After Master Giett's death in the Yinchorr system, she learned from his longtime friend, Master Plo Koon, how to meld her martial arts styles with a strong lightsaber defense. In practice, Swan excelled at drawing opponents toward her by minimizing her own physical movements, and then striking forward in a flawless attack of blinding celerity.

At an early stage of her training, Bultar developed an interest in unarmed combat techniques. In particular, she studied teräs käsi and the Verdanaian 'sliding hands' fighting method.

Typically, Bultar Swan's fighting style included various phases, starting with the enticement of the opponent. By remaining almost completely still, she would lure opponents into the attack. Bultar would then formulate her own counter-attack and move with awesome speed. Her attacks would often contain a complex routine of moves that all blurred into a whirl of motion -- usually ending with her opponent dazed and confused on the floor.

Bultar was adept at unarmed fighting methods, including sliding hands and teräs käsi. Using these techniques she was able to defeat a foe without taking their life. Indeed, Bultar had, until the Clone Wars, an exemplary reputation for having taken no lives in combat.

A decade before the Clone Wars began, the Jedi Order came up against a Sith warrior named Darth Maul who used teräs käsi in combination with his double-bladed lightsaber to devastating effect. Bultar had learned of the technique from fellow Jedi on Coruscant. She combined it with her 'sliding hands' study to create her own combat technique. Her mastery of the disciplines enabled her to defeat opponents with ease, but without having to kill them -- a very different approach from that of Darth Maul.

Bultar was part of the Jedi Strike team of 200 Jedi that went to Geonosis in order to rescue Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Padme Amidala from being executed by Count Dooku and the Separatists. The Jedi enter the Petranaaki arena to combat a large amount of B-1 battle droids and the new Super Battle droids, as well as battling against some of the Geonosian warriors. The Jedi were outnumbered, however, and soon huddled together in the center of the arena before being saved by Jedi Master Yoda and the Clone troopers. Bultar was one of the dozen or so survivors out of the entire group:
She was one of the 200-member Jedi taskforce that arrived on Geonosis on a rescue mission to free Jedi captives from Separatist forces. Her skills with the lightsaber were put to the test as she faced off against Geonosian warriors and a seemingly endless horde of battle droids.

Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Padme received death sentences from Dooku, to be carried out by the teeth and claws of wild beasts in the Geonosian execution arena. Meanwhile, two hundred Jedi Knights, led by Mace Windu, arrived outside the arena in their Jedi starfighters. They failed to force a surrender from Count Dooku, and the arena exploded in violence as Dooku unleashed his super battle droids. Mace Windu beheaded Jango Fett, yet Dooku's forces held the upper hand until Yoda's armies arrived aboard laser-spewing Republic gunships.

"In a time when all choices are evil, choosing the least of all evils is a virtue."
"No, Master Skywalker, you know nothing of what I have been through in my life. I've been eyeball to eyeball with the dark side more than you will ever know. You stand back and see good and evil on a grand and cosmic scale, but I've been right down there, right at the point where light meets dark. I know that border intimately and while I've toed the terminator line, I've not strayed as much as a micron over it. I've been called out to a domestic disturbance and walked into an apartment where the woman of the house is lying there on the floor, in a pool of blood and vomit. Her nose has been pulverized. Her eyes have been blacked and are swollen shut. Her throat has bruises that show a hand and fingers, and fading bruises cover the rest of her body. Standing over her are two teary-eyed toddlers the age of your niece and nephew. And lying there, on the couch a room away, is her glitbiting husband, his fists still raw and bloody from the beating, his clothes splattered with her blood. His snores are enough to cover her sobs. I've seen that and had every fiber of my being wanting me to give that animal the rudest wake-up he's ever had. I've wanted to beat him so badly he'd look like a rancor's chew toy, but I didn't. I pulled back. I've walked into a warehouse and arrested a spicelord in his office. He opened a case and it had over a million credits in it. A million—more money than I'll ever see in my lifetime. It was mine, he said, if I'd just take it and walk away. No one would ever know. But I'd know, and I didn't do it. My father died in my arms, his life leaking out of him. I had no good-bye. I had no chance to tell him I loved him. I had to hold him, feeling his life fade, hoping for a response, anything to let me know I'd not failed him, and I didn't get it. I went out and I found the bounty hunter scum that killed my father, and I arrested him. There wasn't a person in CorSec that would have whispered in protest if I'd shot him 'resisting arrest.' I could have marched Bossk into One CorSec Plaza, right there in the lobby, and blown his head off in front of hundreds of witnesses, and they'd have all said the prisoner was escaping and a threat to others. I could have killed him, I could have avenged my father, and I didn't. And when our Imp liaison officer let Bossk go, I didn't hunt either one down. I don't know if you think that makes me weak or just stupid. Maybe by not taking revenge I can't be the kind of Jedi you want, maybe by not having wallowed in the dark side and returning you can't be certain of me. I don't know, but don't tell me I don't know the dark side, that I don't know its temptations. I've been there, and I've walked away."
Corran Horn was a Force-sensitive Human male Corellian pilot who served as a Corellian Security Force investigator, a Rogue Squadron ace and New Republic hero, and later a Jedi Master of the New Jedi Order. Born to Nyche and Valin "Hal" Horn on Corellia, Horn lived his early life unaware that his grandfather was Nejaa Halcyon, a Jedi Master. He followed his father and adoptive grandfather into the Corellian Security Force, where he excelled. However, he came into conflict with his Imperial Intelligence liaison officer, Kirtan Loor, and eventually fled Corellia after the Battle of Endor in order to evade execution. Horn spent a year lying low on Garqi before saving several locals from the Empire and making the decision to join the New Republic.

Corran was part of the Jedi Academy inaugural class. Members of the class were noted for radiating power, according to the spirit of Exar Kun, and becoming more powerful with each day, according to Luke Skywalker:
Dissatisfied with serving in a military capacity, Master Skywalker spoke before the Senate, asking permission to seek out students and form a school to train new Jedi. Corran is counted among some of the "notables" to come out of the Jedi Praxeum and is considered a "key Jedi" in the early stages of the Yuuzhan Vong War:
Even after the Emperor’s defeat, Luke Skywalker’s journey—and the story of the New Jedi Order—was just beginning. Seven years after the Battle of Endor, Luke founded the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin IV in an effort to rebuild the ranks of the Jedi. It has already been noted that members of the Halcyon Jedi bloodline inherited the inability to use the Force to perform telekinetic feats. Dating back thousands of years, this trait was often mistaken for a weakness, but the Halcyon Jedi so greatly excelled in other areas of the Force that they easily compensated for this "flaw."

During his training on Yavin IV, Corran would routinely wake up early and go for long runs in the jungles of Yavin as a way of staying in shape and having something different from the other students that was just his own. Here's an instance of him going on a ten kilometer run after a long day of training and after being almost bored to death from hearing stories of the Old Republic:
After a particularly grueling day I ended up lounging around with the rest of the students in the early evening. We'd spent half the day listening to one of the auxiliary Holocron gatekeepers spin stories of court intrigues in the Old Republic—intrigues that must have been fascinating when you knew who he was talking about, but the gatekeeper's stunning inability to characterize anyone meant that I lost track of what was going on almost immediately. After that another gatekeeper told the story of how Yoda had become a Jedi. That story was actually pretty good and undoubtedly saved my life because a minute more of the Old Republic stories and I'd have slipped into a coma. After that I went out on a ten-kilometer run just to convince myself I was, in fact, alive.

Corran is slammed back against a wall by Kyp Durron being strengthened by the Sith spirit Exar Kun, cracks some of his ribs from the strength of the hit that crumbled stone, but is only out of it for less than a minute:
Even though I braced myself for another attack, it did no good. Kyp's previous Force blows were like light breezes compared with a full-out gale. I slammed back into the wall with a teeth-rattling impact. As my body absorbed Force energy and fed it back out, the shield I'd created grew in size. More importantly, my surprise and survival instinct opened me up to the Force and allowed it to flow into the shield. Even so, Kyp's attack jammed the shield back against the wall and I watched stone crumbled beneath its rim.
The safe area I had began to shrink, and my chest became tight as it compressed my ribs. I looked Kyp straight in the eyes and tried to shoot into his brain the image of the mask of hate he wore, but the world around me went black before I could tell if I'd had any success at all.
I awakened probably less than a minute after that, judging by how much of the grain gruel had been consumed in my absence. I hung in the doorway to the dining room, my ribs a bit sore.

Corran heads into Exar Kun's Temple on Yavin IV in order to set up explosive charges to destroy Kun's seat of power. While there, the Dark Lord pays Corran and visit and becomes annoyed at his remarks, using the Force to throw and slam Corran around the Temple until he gets bored of him. Kun would then show Corran images of his wife, father, mother, old Rogue Squadron friend, and potential children in an attempt to break Corran and make him give in to his anger. Corran would punch the ground in frustration, breaking his hand in the process, before being rescued by Mara Jade:
Kun flicked a finger at me, sending me whirling across the courtyard. I tried to gather the Force around me to protect myself, but the shock at my error kept me from it. I slammed into an obsidian wall and heard a bone in my right forearm crack. I clutched the limb to my chest, but Kun spun me again, smashing my flank into a low wall. Ribs crunched with that impact and I felt something inside go, as well.
Kun was enjoying himself, probably for the first time in millennia, the very thought of which made me vomit. Kun's laughter echoed through his stronghold as he pitched me around, dancing me and rolling me back and forth across the courtyard. I thought his actions were haphazard, especially when he lifted me into the air, then dashed me down, shattering my left leg, but even through the pain I had a clarity of mind. He wanted me thinking, not dead, yet, and that made my stomach roil again.
Eventually, like a child tiring of a toy, he let me go. I slumped to my side and involuntarily flinched as his shade came to cover me. "Just because you never saw me affect the material world, it doesn't mean I couldn't. And even if it is something of an effort to do so, here, in my stronghold, it is a pleasure beyond your possible ken."
[...]
"No!" I slammed my right fist against the courtyard stones, breaking it and grinding the bones in my arm. I latched onto the pain and used it it to recapture control of my mind.
[...]
Exar Kun's attack had messed me up more than I knew. My left leg and right arm were broken, as well as my right hand. I'd cracked a half-dozen ribs and had bruises and lacerations on my liver and kidneys. My blood chemistry was all off and the Two-Onebee that looked me over thought I'd ejected from a crashing fighter and never had my parasail open.

Corran pulls Jacen Solo out of the way of coralskipper debris that was going to crash on him:
The young Jedi frowned and gathered the Force to himself. He grabbed the hatch cover Ganner had used as a weapon and flicked it up into the air. He slammed it against the cannon muzzle and summoned all the strength he could to hold it there. Jacen felt an immediate shock of pressure through the Force, so he redoubled his effort.
The hatch cover glowed red, then white, then evaporated from the center out. A little spurt of plasma squirted down, and Corran batted it from the air with ease. On the coralskipper, from the nose back, little golden lines traced their way along the ship's back body. They seemed to define where bits and pieces of it had grown together. Then a nova filled the cockpit and blew out the viewports. Burning plasma geysered into the air, and the ship hung there for a moment before dipping its nose and plunging into the ferrocrete.
It hit hard enough to ripple the surface, knocking Jacen down. Pieces of the ship shattered and started bouncing across the plaza. Jacen began to comprehend his danger from them, but before he could act, Corran came sprinting over, hauled him up by his shoulders, and pulled him clear. A huge section of the coralskipper's tail toppled over on the spot where Jacen had fallen.

Amphistaff spun and lightsaber rose. A slash blocked high, a low cut burning grass but not leaping legs. Combatants slipping past each other, turning, striking, blocking. The amphistaff's hiss rivaling that of the lightsaber. Weapons flashing forward, retreating, then riposting.
Luke felt the Force wreathing Corran. It strengthened him and quickened him, but could not predict for him what his enemy would do. The amphistaff cut and stabbed, always missing Corran by centimeters, or being parried aside. The Yuuzhan Vong managed to whirl his amphistaff around in time to parry Corran's lunges, or to bat away slashes. They seemed, the two of them, to be perfectly matched. Defeat will come from a single mistake.

Corran is able to keep fighting Yuuzhan Vong commander Shedao Shai after being stabbed through his right hip by an amphistaff:
Corran closed and lunged at Shedao Shai's upper chest. With two hands on the amphistaff, the Yuuzhan Vong parried the argent blade high, then ducked his head and whirled around in a circle. The amphistaff snapped straight against Shedao Shai's right forearm, then he lunged.
Pain exploded from the Jedi as the amphistaff's tail stabbed deep into his guts. The tip tented the back of the robe over Corran's right hip, then the Yuuzhan Vong yanked the amphistaff free, spinning the Jedi to the ground. Corran curled around the holes in his right flank, drawing his knees up. His lightsaber lay smoking on the grass.
Luke wanted to reach out, to help quell Corran's pain, but he held himself back. The Jedi Master drew some small comfort from the fact that the strike had not severed Corran's spine. Could have gotten arteries, and his guts are holed, but he could survive this, if Shai gives him a chance.
Shedao Shai drew back several steps, then tugged off his mask and tossed it aside. He raised the gore-streaked amphistaff to his lips and harvested incarnadine fluid with his tongue. His lips closed for a moment, his eyes following, then he nodded.
"I vowed I would taste your blood as you die, and now I have done that."
Corran coughed once, pain flaring through the Force, then rolled up to his knees. "Good for you, pal, glad you're happy." He winced as he scooped up his lightsaber and staggered to his feet. "Had I been in your boots, I would have vowed something else."

Corran is able to block an enraged Shedao Shai's "bone-jarring" blows repeatedly on his lightsaber with one hand until he was forced due to his hip injury to use two hands:
Shedao Shai's eyes snapped open. Though Luke could not read him through the Force, the fury and hatred coursing through the Yuuzhan Vong was unmistakable. The warrior darted forward, bringing the amphistaff up and around in a two-handed overhead blow. He smashed it down on Corran's upraised lightsaber, driving the Jedi back a step.
Again and again he rained blows down with bone-jarring impact. Corran retreated, giving up a step or two with each attack. As Shedao Shai's fury built, so did his strength, forcing Corran to raise his left hand from the hole in his side to the hilt of his lightsaber. Another blow battered the silver blade, and another, buckling Corran's legs, dropping him to his knees.

With both of them running with the aid of Force Speed, Corran tackles Tahiri Veila to the ground to save her from thud bugs:
The two Jedi stumbled through the newly broken terrain. The ship was on the ground, and Nom Anor was running toward it. Tahiri ran as she never had before, drawing on the turbulent Force around them. Corran was just ahead of her. They were gaining on the executor. If they could reach him before the warriors on the ship could debark, they might yet be able to save Sekot. She clung to that hope, as the breath ripped at her lungs and her heart stuttered unevenly.
Without warning, Corran lashed out at her, sending her sprawling. Even before a sense of betrayal could register, she saw he was going down, too. Less than a heartbeat later, a swarm of thud bugs whirred through the space where they'd just been.

Corran jumps at least four stories from a speeder onto a street. He then kicks a man so hard he sends him skidding backwards for a meter:
A man dressed in an eye-hurting green jumpsuit fell out of the sky and landed beside the sniper. He was broad-shouldered, not tall, and had a bushy red beard that fell nearly to his waist. Even at this distance, something about him shouted disguise to Wedge.
The sniper looked up at the man from the sky, losing his fix on Wedge.
Wedge glanced up for a moment. The airspeeder that had been heading his way was now moving from a position directly over the sniper and back toward the traffic lane -- back toward Wedge. The bearded man had to have come from it, and had to have dropped four stories to land beside the sniper.
The red-bearded man kicked the sniper full in the face. The force of the blow snapped the man's head back and sent him skidding for a meter across the sidewalk.

Corran is described as thick chested:
She turned her head to see a thick-chested man with a trim, graying beard and startling green eyes. He stood two meters from her, staring at her, smiling. He wore Jedi robes.
"Horn," she said.

Corran easily catches a blow dart that Alema Rar fired at him:
"I'll say this once," Corran said. "Give up now."
She raised her blowgun and fired.
Horn plucked the dart from the air. He opened a datapad, dropped the dart onto the screen, and snapped the device closed.

Force Knowledge
The Jedi taught a meditation technique that builds up a wall of discipline in order to put pain out of your mind:
Even without the Force, his Jedi training gives him ways to survive the pain; he can drive his mind through a meditative cycle that builds a wall of discipline between his consciousness and the white. Though his body still suffers, he can hold his mind outside the pain.

The Jedi had a new, deeper understanding of the Force after the Yuuzhan Vong War:
The war against the Yuuzhan Vong had brought the Jedi a deeper understanding of the Force—one that no longer saw light and dark as opposing sides—and he had known before he came that the Fallanassi might find this new view disturbing.

Jacen Solo was one of the first Jedi to discover that the Force acted in many ways, without a true light or dark side, and that there were ways in which it could be attuned to at least recognize the alien invaders. The former Jedi Master Vergere was instrumental in guiding Jacen to this realization, having spent more than 30 years in the presence of the Yuuzhan Vong. After the surrender of the Yuuzhan Vong at Coruscant some five years after their invasion began, Jedi Master Skywalker contemplated this new understanding of the Force. It was not a simple delineation between light and dark, but a more profound definition of the ways in which good and evil fought for control of an individual. Ultimately, he chose not to return the Jedi to their roles as an unbiased police force serving only the light side.
Luke reasoned that the Jedi Knights of the Old Republic were once a meditative Order that was drawn deeper and deeper into the machinations of the Republic when its Chancellors called for their help in mediating disputes. As this escalated into the battle legions of the Clone Wars, the Jedi became less interested in the nature of the Force and more interested in separating good and evil into light and dark halves of the Force. The Jedi of the Old Republic, according to Skywalker, lost sight of the fact that the Force moved through individuals, not from them. His new Jedi Order was predicated on the belief that the Force would provide its own guidance to each individual, who was bound to act in the best interests of the Force.

The Jedi academy at Ossus taught a centering exercise where trainees had to learn to detach themselves from their emotions in order to have sound judgement and remain focused on their task regardless of what they're feeling at the time:
The slidewalk carried them past a sunken basin, where a group of adolescent apprentices stood under the watchful eye of a training Jedi Knight. They were surrounded by twenty grown adults, who were shouting insults at them and pelting them with missiles ranging from kitchen leftovers to sting balls.
"My word!" Formbi gasped. "What kind of drill is that?"
"It's a centering exercise," Luke said proudly. He was counting on this part of the tour to persuade Formbi to speak on their behalf on the Chiss capital world, Csilla. "Young Jedi must learn to detach themselves from their emotions, to remain focused regardless of whatever they are feeling at the time."
"There are several other versions," Mara added. "A five-day fast while the rest of the academy feasts around them, a three-day swim in a warm bubble pool, an all-night tickle where they're forbidden to laugh."
"That may sound silly, but that's actually the most difficult test," Luke said. "And if they fail, they repeat the other exercises."
Formbi stared at them as though they had told him they were Sith Lords. "You people make the Ssi-ruuk look kind!"
"Jedi Knights often find themselves in tumultuous situations," Luke replied. "Their judgement must remain sound, no matter what they are feeling."

Luke Skywalker notes that Corran has strong mental defenses despite not having any training, and that it felt as if Corran was trying to keep Luke from his mind when Luke was trying to get inside to help him find Mirax, his wife:
Luke smiled easily. "Just open your mind to me. I want to probe you. You'll feel something—a little pressure. It might even tickle."
"Okay."
He drew in a deep breath and as he exhaled I felt a wave of peace wash out over me. I did my best to relax as the Jedi's eyes half-closed. I felt something in my mind, something gentle yet firm, like a reassuring pat on the back, press against my consciousness. It grew more intense and shifted from point to point—if something as ethereal as a mind can be said to have points. I felt different angles of attack and an increase in pressure that verged on painful, then it evaporated and Luke sat back.
I looked at him expectantly. "What?"
He grinned boyishly. "Very interesting. Were you trying to resist me?"
I shook my head. "Not at all. Was there a problem?"
"A bit. I could pull off some surface impressions, but you were locked up pretty tightly."

Corran, without consciously knowing what he was doing, creates an illusion of lifting a rock and holding it in the air before the other students of the Jedi academy when he was actually trying to lift it with Telekinesis:
Luke had arranged us in a circle around a huge boulder buried halfway into the ground. He nodded toward it. "You have all been told repeatedly that size does not matter. This is true. However, this does not mean all tasks will be simple. This rock, for all we know, is really just the top of a long plinth. We don't know how big it is. Moving it may not only take a titanic effort, but a sustained effort. With the Force flowing through you, you will be able to move it. If the Force is not flowing, the task will not be completed."
He looked at each and everyone of us openly. "Who would be first to try?"
Gantoris took a step forward. "Master, I would."
"Master, if you please," I bowed my head toward him. "I would be the first to do."
Gantoris sneered in my direction. "You? You will do nothing."
Luke looked at me. "Do you think you are ready?"
I shrugged. "I believe I must do this. Perhaps in focusing on small things I have closed myself down to the Force. To feel it I must open myself to something more grand." I looked around the circle, making eye contact with everyone. "I must move this rock, therefore I will move it. This I believe."
[...]
Newly empowered, I reached out for the stone. In a heartbeat I plumbed its depths. I knew its size and mass, I knew its contours and its weaknesses. I knew I could shape the Force into a hammer and shatter it, but that was not the task at hand. My task was to move it, to rip it from the ground, to raise it up so all could see what I had done.
I poured the Force into my effort. At first I felt resistance, but I expected that. The stone had been firmly stuck in the ground for years. I tugged at it and could see it rocking back and forth. Small pebbles cascaded off it, bouncing down into the grasses at its base. I worried it like a loose tooth, then I prepared to pull it.
I gritted my teeth against the effort. I felt the stone shift. Before my mind's eye I saw it quiver and shake. Slowly, slowly at first it began to move upward. A micron here, a millimeter there, then a centimeter, then two. Then four and six and twenty. Rich brown loam fell from it as the lower half of the stone began to rise above the surface. Faster it moved now, slowed only by the occasional clumsy bump against the side of the hole it had inhabited. My control was not yet fine, but I knew it would get better, so I pushed on, working on lifting it higher.
The stone came fully clear of the ground, but that was not enough for me. I could feel the Force pulsing into me, full and insistent. I channeled it back out through my mind and made the rock's ascent smooth. I lifted it and lifted it up so high that when I opened my eyes, I knew I would be able to see beneath it and find Master Luke across the circle from me. I would lift it so high, in fact, that not even Gantoris could deny what I had done.
Finally I had success. The stone hung in the air better than two meters above the ground. I held it there and redoubled my effort to quell the list in it. I wanted it as firmly embedded in the Force and air as it had been in the ground. When it stopped moving, I smiled and opened my eyes.
The rock remained in the ground.
I stared at it and tried to remember if I had heard it crash back down into the ground. I couldn't remember such a sound, nor could I remember feeling the shockwave that would have resulted from a crash landing. I glanced up at where the rock should have been, then back down. I couldn't believe it had not moved because I knew I had felt the Force, and I knew the rock had flown.
Then I noticed that all the others, every single one of them, were looking at the spot in the air where I had seen the rock floating. Tionne and Streen wore open expressions of wonderment. Kam wore the smirk with which he rewarded good efforts. Gantoris looked as if he'd seen a ghost and the others just looked amazed.
Across from me Luke should his head, then passed a hand over his eyes. He glanced back at the spot in the air where the rock should have been, then his gaze flicked toward where it really lay. He looked around at the other students, then gently passed a hand through the air, causing them to blink and rub their eyes.
Gantoris looked at the rock and then accusingly at me. "What did you do?"
"What Keiran did, was feel the Force." The Jedi Master nodded to me, then advanced and rested a hand on Gantoris' shoulder. "He opened the pathway to his future. What he did or did not do here should not concern you. Instead, be happy knowing yet another of you is past the first hurdle on the road to becoming a Jedi Knight."

Corran is able to put a picture in fellow Jedi Academy student Streen's mind of an empty audience chamber in order to lower the wind storm he was summoning:
A raging windstorm howled through the Grand Audience Chamber and battered me as I burst through the stairwell doorway. As I entered the room, I saw Leia leap for her brother's legs and get carried upward toward the ceiling by the cyclone. At the heart of the storm, Streen danced around in a circle, his arms spread wide, his eyes open but unseeing. He clearly meant for the storm to blow Luke and Leia out through skylights and hurl them into the jungle, where the fall would kill them.
And without any telekinesis, I was powerless to halt the storm. Something urged me to despair over the fact, but I brushed it aside. I'll just have to make Streen stop it himself.
As the turbolift door opened and Kirana Ti boiled into the storm armoring Streen, I set myself and concentrated. Summoning the Force, I projected into Streen's brain a vision of the room that did not include me or Kirana or the other apprentices coming out of the lift. I also showed him that the room was empty save for himself. Those he wished to blow out of here were gone, sent off on the fate he had intended for them. I shoved into him a sense of his mission having been accomplished fully and totally and I felt an alien wave of satisfaction roll back out from him.
Then Kirana Ti battered her way past his defenses and tackled him. The wind died, allowing Luke and Leia to plunge toward the ground. Kam Solusar and Tionne rushed forward and used their telekinetic abilities to catch the siblings and lower them to the ground slowly.

It really came as no surprise when, as I lay down in my bunk, an oily, glistening black stain seeped into the ceiling above me. It resolved itself into the shadowy image of a tall, slender, sharp-featured man. He wore archaic clothes and long hair. He knitted his long fingers together at his waist.
"Your mind-trick was quite good, Keiran Halcyon."
"High praise from a Dark Lord of the Sith."

Corran puts an image into the mind of a pirate of the pirate drawing his weapon and aiming at Corran, seeing Corran draw a pull out blaster, and firing three times so that Corran didn't have time to fire his blaster. The pirate ended up firing into his own leg because he hadn't moved it out of it's holster and Corran didn't have a blaster:
Laanars looked right and left, disbelief on his face. "How stupid can you be?" His right hand dropped to the butt of his blaster as he stared me right in the eyes. "You're dead."
Using the Force, I filled his mind with the image of his blaster being drawn and pointing straight at my forehead. I painted a look of terror on my face, but gave him the impression that I'd been concealing a hold-out blaster up my right sleeve. He saw it appear in my hand and swung into line with his body. He had no choice. He pulled the trigger three times.
But his blaster hadn't yet slid even halfway from its holster. All three shots struck him in the right thigh, collapsing the leg. He went down screaming and thrashed in the aisle.

Corran is able to sense a Force sensitive trying to probe his way into his mind and is able to divert the probe away from learning too much:
In the wake of that jolt I felt a presence creeping into my mind. It came tentatively and gently, a roly-poly lintnerf rolling and hopping over the surface of my consciousness. Had I not been trained in the ways of the Force I never would have noticed it, or I would have put it down to the Admiral's penetrating gaze. As it was, even with my rudimentary skill in the Force, I felt its intrusion and sought to deflect it away from any deep probe.
I recalled how Luke had entered my mind by making his thoughts flow along with mine. I reversed this technique. Since the prober was looking for information about the Force and Jedi Knights, I'd supply it. I dredged up every memory of Jedi Knights from every trashy holodrama and news documentary I could remember. I created a pool of such images, allowing the prober in, then encysting her in that wealth of data.

Corran creates an image of Imperial Captain Zlece Oonaar in the mind of Jacob to freak him out and put him on edge. Jacob had previously called for the execution of Captain Oonar but Corran used an image of the Imperial Captain to make Jacob freak out in a public cantina:
Jacob sat with his back to the corner of the room. I sat at his left, with my back toward a wall, but slightly exposed along my flank. Another chair sat across from him and could not be seen by most of the rest of the room because of a pillar. I had a bottle of Savareen brandy sitting in front of me, and a snifter in my right hand. Jacob drank lum, but never enough to get roaring drunk, just mildly suggestible. We sat there, chatting in low voices about the latest rumors concerning Shala the Hutt, when I pushed the empty chair out with my left foot, as if someone were drawing it back to sit.
I tapped the Force, letting it fill me, but turned my head toward the chair and away from Jacob. "You can't sit here. This is a private table." As I said that, I reached out with my senses and projected an image into Jacob's brain.
Jacob's head came up and he blanched. "Not possible."
The figure he saw sitting down opposite him spat out a thick golden credit coin, that bounced once on the table. My left hand swept out to grab it, then I slapped down the credit I'd palmed. My left hand recoiled. "It's cold."
The figure across the table from Jacob wore an Imperial Captain's uniform, albeit a bit too small, and had a mouse under his left eye. In fact, Captain Zlece Oonaar of the Crusader looked exactly the way he had after the Survivors had tried him and Jacob had ordered his execution. Jacob himself had stuffed the gold credit in his mouth, following the old superstition of buying off the evil things the dead would say about the living, then had him pitched out of the Backstab's main airlock.
Zlece Oonaar looked directly into Nive's eyes. "You can have your gold back. The dead don't speak ill of the dead."
I grabbed Jacob's left wrist with my right hand. "What does he mean?"
Jacob's mouth hung open. "I don't know."
Zlece nodded slowly. "You know. You know you should have died the day all your friends did. If you'd fought harder, they might have lived. You failed them, and now you will join them. Doom is coming to Courkrus. All your victims will be avenged."
Jacob stood abruptly, tearing his wrist from my grip, and he threw his mug of lum through the phantasm. I let the image fade into a bloody mist that drifted away as the mug shattered against the pillar. Jacob stood there, gape-jawed and trembling, then looked around at everyone else in the cantina. Their attention had been drawn to him when the mug exploded, but they had seen nothing prior to that.
Jacob pointed at the chair. "Did you see him?"
Other people started to shake their heads.
He looked at me. "You saw him, didn't you, Jenos? You saw him."
I shuddered and drained my brandy snifter. "I saw him. He was that guy we took, the one we tried." I fingered the coin. "You put this in his mouth."
"But we left him in space." I poured more brandy into my snifter and looked up at Jacob, ignoring the tightening knot of people closing in on us. "What did he mean, 'Doom is coming to Courkrus'?"
Jacob snatched my brandy away from me and swallowed it all in one gulp. "I don't know." He put the snifter down again and tapped the rim for a refill. "I don't know, but it is not good. Not good at all."

Once they were away, I slipped into the Jedi uniform, donned a hooded cloak and slipped out into the night. Corran projects an image into a woman's head of him fading into nothingness:
"W-who are you?"
I guided her to her feet and walked with her toward the alley mouth and the street light slanting into it. "It is enough that I am known to be here."
I let her walk into the light, but I remained in the shadows as I let her hand go. "Just tell them that doom has come to Courkrus. Their victims will be avenged, and those who fear justice will never sleep securely here again." Then I projected into her mind an illusion of my fading into nothingness while I slipped past her and moved further along the street. I shadowed her to make certain nothing else happened to her, then, when she found safety, I returned to my home.

Corran creates an illusion of himself running down an alley in order to make a man and a woman chase after him, but tricked them and made them run straight into a wall:
One evening I let a trio of the Fastblast's crew catch a glimpse of me ducking into an alley. I'd been drinking with them earlier and had talked up how a group could go hunting the Jedi and snag him, winning themselves that great reward. The Fastblasters—two humans, male and female, and a male Kubaz—worked themselves up into a frenzy, then I excused myself and made as if to head home. I wished them luck with their hunt, hoping they would find the Jedi before the other hunting groups, and they took the bait.
The Fastblasters came running and as they rounded the corner of the alley, I projected into their minds the image of me fleeing before them, my cloak flapping back, water from a sewage rivulet splashing up with each step. The humans raced after me at full speed. The Kubaz, who didn't quite see the image I projected, slowed and raised a hand to warn his compatriots. Before he could do so, I rose from the shadows that concealed me near the alley mouth and clopped him on the head with the butt of my lightsaber.
Bereft of his warning, his two companions ran at full sprint into the brick and plaster wall I'd hidden with my illusion. The woman rebounded hard from the wall. Her blond hair wrapped around her face as she twisted through the air and crashed down in a trash midden. The man, who had been a step behind her, had begun to twist to his right, so he took the impact on his shoulder. Even from ten meters away, I heard his collarbone snap. He bounced back, took a couple of stumbling steps in my direction, then dropped to his knees.

Corran tricks a man into thinking that he didn't hear a door's tone or see the light that unlocked it, forcing the man to input the code to open the door more slowly so that Corran could learn the code for himself:
The Blackstar Pirates felt invincible in their sanctuary behind the Mynock Hole and I knew my intervention there would shake them to their core. In an earlier visit as Jenos Idanian, I took a seat that gave me a clear vision of the datapad they used to gain entry into the back. By casually studying the people going in I learned they used a four digit code, but most of the pirates hit the numbers too quickly for me to read them exactly.
I waited for an older man well into his cups to approach the door and set myself. He punched the in and waited for a light to go on and a tone to sound before he would be free to push the door open. I reached out with the Force and simply made him forget he'd seen the light and heard the tone. He frowned, then more carefully and precisely punched the code in, letting me read from his actions what the combination was.

Corran makes pirates in a cantina forget they saw him as he walked past them into the back:
A rainstorm hit Vlarnya the evening I decided to carry my war to the Blackstar Pirates, and the atmospherics certainly added to the tension growing in the Aviary. It also helped that virtually everyone wore hooded cloaks as sheets of rain lashed the city. I was soaked by the time I reached the Mynock Hole, but went unnoticed among the other dripping, cloaked figures in the cantina. I even swept into the back area warded by pirates without being the subject of much scrutiny. Moving with authority and raising a hand to the datapad to punch in the combination appeared to be normal to the pirates seated there, so I only needed to devote a tiny slice of the Force to making them lose the seconds of their life in which I passed them by.

Corran makes most people in a room see lightning and hear thunder as he leaves into a strong rain outside:
I held the lightsaber before me in such a way that its harsh light deepened the shadows within my hood. "This is no more your sanctuary. This is no more a place where chance holds sway. Doom has come to Courkrus, and if you stay, your only safe bet is on death."
With that I walked to a door in the exterior wall, slashed it open and let rain slant in. Lightning struck and thunder blasted as I stepped through into the night—well, it did at least for most of the humans I could reach—and then I was gone except from their nightmares.

Corran, in a split second act of instinct, manages to put the image of Nikkos Tyris into the head of the Saarai-kaar, leader of the Jensaarai, to distract her from killing him:
I felt a jolt run through my lightsaber, numbing my hands as the blade flickered and died. She recoiled, clutching at her smoking armor, her own lightsaber going out as it fell from her hand. Snarling, she nodded sharply at me, and I heard a rustling. One of her students' discarded cloaks wrapped itself around my ankles and dumped me unceremoniously on my back. I blacked out for a second, then saw the Saarai-kaar standing over me, her golden blade raised for an overhand blow that would split my head in two.
Without conscious thought, I reacted through the Force. Into her brain I projected an image of Nikkos Tyris lying there in my place.
She hesitated. "Master?"
Mirax's stunbolt hit the Saarai-kaar square in the chest and dropped her out of my sight.

Corran makes an image of red mist around himself as he walks in a cantina:
To heighten the tension concerning the confrontation, I decided to return to the Crash cantina. I projected a red mist condensing into my form to cover my appearance, and almost laughed aloud as previously brave men and women recoiled from me, moving away from the bar toward the furthest reaches of the room.

Corran uses the last of the energies he absorbed from several explosive mines to put a vision into the minds of any and everyone he could find near a warehouse:
I felt the firestorm's power begin to wane and I knew things were almost over, but I still had lots of energy left in me that I had to vent somehow. I looked up and allowed my smile to broaden. Everyone knows the Jedi came here to die. Let's show them he did no such thing!
I expanded my sphere of responsibility and touched every mind I could find. Into them I projected a simple vision, one that would terrify many and reassure others. I let them see the shaft of fire stabbing up into the sky, and at its bottom was the hilt of a lightsaber. A giant figure of a man clad in green and black rose up through the black smoke, then the fire vanished as he switched his lightsaber off. He faded back into the smoke and was no more.

Luke had known Corran for many years, and trusted him implicitly. Indeed, when the Yuuzhan Vong invaded the galaxy, Luke left Corran in charge of the academy for a while, confident that it would be in safe hands.

Corran puts the smell of stink, a sour smell that slashrats exude when making a kill, into Ganner Rhysode's brain to stop him from attacking two Yuuzhan Vong warriors. The effect is so strong that Ganner drops to his knees and gags, throwing up a little of his supper:
The first Yuuzhan Vong warrior hammered the slave with a left hook that snapped off the coral spike on the man's right cheek. The blow spun him around. The Yuuzhan Vong then drove his right fist into the slave's back, precisely over the kidneys. Corran winced in sympathy as the slave went to his knees.
A quick burst of fury alerted Corran to a new problem. Ganner had brought his lightsaber to hand but had not yet ignited it. Knowing what Ganner wanted to do, but also knowing it would get them and the students killed, Corran acted. He used the Force to drill through Ganner's sense of outrage and pumped the acrid scent of stink straight into his brain.
Ganner immediately dropped to his knees and doubled over. He covered his mouth with his gloved hands as his chest convulsed. What little was left of his supper leaked out through his fingers and puddled in the sand. He shot Corran an incendiary glance, then his body heaved again.

Corran allows himself to be burned by a lightsaber so that he could absorb and use that energy and sensation of pain to put that sensation into the minds of two people who were being held by the Embrace of Pain. This caused the Embrace to slacken its hold on the two, allowing Corran and Ganner to free them:
Corran raked fingers back through his brown hair, then stepped up to Denna and stabbed his stiffened fingers deep into the man's armpit. Through the Force, he could feel a jolt of pain running through the man. He also saw the rack's restraints slacken slightly.
"That's it. They're being held in a constant level of pain. If the rack senses too much, it lets the pressure off. We have to put them in more pain, a lot of pain, to get the rack to release them."
The younger Jedi frowned. "How? Beat them up? Break some bones? Stab them with lightsabers?"
"It would do the trick, but it would kill them, obviously." Corran smiled grimly. "I will just have to make them think they're in pain."
Ganner's head came up, and he gave Corran a respectful nod. "Ah, yes. Get to it."
"Not that easy." Corran began to roll up his left sleeve. "It will take some work."
"What are you talking about?"
"Ever broken a limb?"
Ganner nodded. "My leg."
"You remember it hurt, right?"
"Yes."
"But you don't remember how much it hurt. The mind is like that. You forget the really sharp pains so you'll continue going on. Women forget the pain of childbirth or we'd all be only children." Corran sighed. "I can project pain into them, but I've got to feel it to get it right."
"How?" Ganner's question came very tentatively.
Corran moved between the two racks and stood facing Vil, with Denna behind him. "You face Denna. When the machines slacken fully, you've got to make one cut, get the restraint straps. You do him, I'll do Vil."
"Okay."
"Now the hard part." Corran extended his left forearm toward Ganner, with his hand open and palm up. "One of the other Force abilities I have is pretty rare. I can, under certain circumstances, absorb a certain amount of energy without much damage to myself. To get the pain I need, I want you to press your lightsaber against my forearm. Not too hard—I like the limb just fine. Just hold it out, maybe, and I'll move my arm up into it."
Ganner's jaw dropped. "You can't be serious."
"You want to save these two or not?"
"But—"
"But nothing. Are you ready?"
Ganner nodded and extended the lightsaber.
Corran could feel the buzz of it against his flesh as he slowly raised his arm. The blade's heat vaporized hairs, filling the area with the stink of singed protein. Corran knew that scent was nothing compared to what would follow. He swallowed, once, hard, then flattened his hand and raised his arm another centimeter.
Silver agony flashed right up his arm and into his brain. By reflex he started to use a Jedi technique to shunt the pain away, but then stopped himself. He concentrated, soaking in the energy of the blade. He looked out through slitted eyelids and saw his flesh reddening, then beginning to blister. Smoke rose from it, and the pain built. Then, as he saw the first hint of charring, he latched onto the Force and poured the torment out and into the students.
One second, two, three. Corran let the burning sharpness flow through him and into Vil and Denna. They twitched while he trembled. They shrieked while his flesh crackled. His clenched jaw ground his teeth together, and he tasted blood.
The racks slackened, dropping each student half a meter toward the floor. The restraining straps snapped taut, all glossy and black like wet leather. Corran ignited his own lightsaber and whipped the blade around, severing each strap, then he dropped to his knees and fell over Vil's prostrate form.

Corran uses the Force to summon slashrats to his position in order to have them kill a Yuuzhan Vong warrior:
Corran's breathing became labored. His chest heaved with every effort. He knew he was done and again called to himself images of his family. Happy images. Images that made him proud. He saw them through various times and situations, flashing finally on his most recent and strongest memories of them.
He reached out through the Force in one last desperate gamble. He half closed his eyes and let his smile slacken. The Yuuzhan Vong, with the help of his amphistaff, had risen to his good left leg. The warrior stared down at him, his bare face all scrunched up, uneven teeth and uneven features giving Corran a nightmare image to carry with him into eternity.
Then a frenzied explosion of slashrats burst up through the holes Corran had gouged in the shell's floor. One of the toothy rodents sank its teeth into the Vong's left forearm, crushing it as if it were an eggshell. Two others bit into the nearly severed right leg and tugged, dragging the Yuuzhan Vong out of Corran's sight.
If the Vong screamed—and Corran decided he never would have—the sounds of snarling slashrats fighting over his body drowned it out completely.
With a smile on his face, Corran pushed himself back as best he could from the killballs that were feasting on the Yuuzhan Vong warriors. With his last memory of his son, he had recalled how Valin had made the garnants attack Ganner, so he had reached out with the Force to summon the slashrats for a Yuuzhan Vong meal. The snarling, growling packs of slashrats showed how effective that strategy had been.

Sense/Empathy
Force Sense is a basic power allowing Force sensitives to sense their surroundings, feel and determine the thoughts or feelings of others, feel ripples in the Force signifying important events, the presence of the dark side, or even sense the future, while Empathy is the power to sense, communicate, and manipulate emotions.
Corran is skilled in the ability "Empathy":
—The New Jedi Order Sourcebook
Corran senses remorse and confusion from Gantoris:
The Master shook his head slowly. "I can tell you that Gantoris already regrets what he has done here. Stretch out with your feelings. You'll feel it, too. He is teaching himself where the line is and how to stay on the light side of it."
I did as I was bidden and did sense both remorse and confusion from Gantoris.

Corran senses despair and anger radiating off of a large blue crystal in the Blueleaf Temple on Yavin IV:
I walked closer to it, being careful not to step into the circular pit surrounding it. The nearer I drew to it, the colder I felt. The energy pulsing out of it was not palpably evil, but I could sense a host of negative emotions like despair and anger.

Corran is able to extend his sense of awareness to sixteen meters and up to two hundred and fifty meters if he focused on one direction:
We managed to expand my sphere of responsibility up to sixteen meters for fine control, which meant I could pretty much own a city block. If I focused in one direction I was good up to two hundred fifty meters for fine control on picking off blaster bolts, or line of sight for sensing presence.

Corran senses shock, outrage, sorrow and despair from the other Jedi Academy students as he nears Luke Skywalker's comatose body:
As I mounted the final flight of steps, new sensations cascaded down from the top of the pyramid. I sensed the other students up there, and their emotions ran from shock and outrage to sorrow and despair.

Corran stretches his senses out during a dog fight with Tavira's fighters and Rogue Squadron and is able to sense elation, pain, hope, terror, anger, and determination. He would then narrow all of those feelings down to ones directed at him and his fighter so that he would be able to dodge and evade shots at him more effectively:
I kept my hand light on the stick and expanded my sphere of responsibility. Everything outside my cockpit seemed completely chaotic, a kaleidoscope of possibility and probability that shifted every nanosecond. Energy filled the void, traveling back and forth between the big ships, while smaller bolts sprayed out in all directions. Proton torpedoes and concussion missiles raced at targets as if homing on the fear of those who had been targeted. Elation and pain, hope and terror, anger and determination all swirled about—where they intersected I could hear death screams or whispered affirmations of survival.
Out of all of this I sorted the feelings directed toward me, the mental energies concentrated on my clutch. As they hardened, as they seemed to come to a point, as if light sliding along the narrowing blade of a knife, I knew to juke right or left, up or down. In response I'd feel shock and anger or disbelief, then a gathering of concentration again.

Corran pushes his senses out while also trying to keep them low and "flat" to prevent being discovered, and is able to sense a group of pilots two Coruscant blocks away:
Realizing I was taking a risk, I tapped into my personal Force reservoir and pushed my sphere of responsibility out. I consciously flattened it, making it more into a flat disk, in the hopes that Tavira's advisors wouldn't pick up on it, then I focused it even more forward, ignoring the spaceport landing facilities. Keeping it in a semi-circle, I pushed it out and sensed nothing in the terminal. In the jungle beyond it I found all manner of lifeforms and various Caamasi homes. Then, at a distance that would have covered roughly two Coruscant blocks, I found my pilots.

Corran's senses help him feel like a "super predator" and allows him to sense both creatures and humanoids throughout a small city, strong enough that he could have taken a census of the local wildlife in seconds if he wanted to:
The difference was, this time, I had the Force as my ally. My sense of the city and the area around me became acute, allowing me to register the various life sources. Had I wanted to, I could have taken a census of crunchbugs or feral tuskettes in seconds. I didn't, though—other data drew me on into the night.
When on patrol for CorSec, I'd been a predator looking for prey, hoping I didn't find it in sufficient quantity to kill me. With the Force, I almost felt like a super-predator. I sensed where everyone was, where their attention was directed. I could choose paths of confrontation that would keep things quiet, or would make for a big display.

Corran senses half a dozen people in a warehouse, as well as their emotions:
The warehouse looked no different than it had before, save the side door was open and no light bled out into the night. I extended my senses toward it, letting the Force flood through me, and picked out only a half-dozen large lifeforms, including Shala on his dais. The others remained hidden deep in the warrens surrounding the central pit. Their nervousness shone like a beacon, but I found Shala frighteningly calm. He was just waiting for me, so I deigned to keep him waiting no longer.

Corran senses a fair amount of life on Bimmiel while he was still in orbit:
"No indication of any atmospheric changes that are out of the ordinary. Bimmiel has an elliptical orbit, and we're on the outward leg now. Corran senses groups of small creatures around a camp:
Reaching out through the Force, Corran searched for life beneath the sand. Again he found insects and the small mammals—with many of the latter huddled together deep in a crevasse in the rocks. Others were moving through the sand, into one of the tents and back out again. Their course was so regular that Corran assumed they were moving along a tunnel and raiding a food store of some sort.

Corran senses a slashrat moving through the sand towards him and Ganner Ryhsode:
"I should have thought to bring water, though." Corran frowned, then his head came up as something tickled his awareness. Something is moving out there. He glanced at Ganner. "Feel it?"
"Yes, coming in along this dune line, coming fast." Ganner pointed directly north. "The sand is shifting a bit there."
Corran turned and fingered his lightsaber. Sand moved, ever so slightly, falling from the crest of dunes and down. He sensed a life-form speeding within the lighter, dusty layer of sand near the surface. It burned brightly in the Force, almost blinding in intensity as it raced closer.

Corran feels excitement and resentment from Ganner Rhysode:
The two Jedi continued on in silence—at least, audio silence. When one is attuned to the Force, the emotions playing through another can feel as sweet as music sounds, or as harsh as breaking transparisteel looks. Excitement tinged with resentment trailed off Ganner, so Corran decided to give fewer orders and invite Ganner's input on little choices, like how to work around a rising line of stony outcroppings that capped the hills overlooking the lake.

Corran senses something wrong with Yuuzhan Vong captives, which Ganner Rhysode notes that they are slowly dying:
The second thing that he noticed was that he got a Force sense of inhabitants only in the smallest of the shells. He glanced over at Ganner. "Something is wrong with the people."
The other Jedi's eyes narrowed. "It is as if there is static coming through the Force from them. Their link to the Force is weakening. I think they're dying."
"Good insight."

Corran senses that slashrats are staying twenty meters away from a Yuuzhan Vong camp:
Ganner pointed a finger at the village and circled it around. "Notice anything about the slashrats?"
Corran stretched out with the Force. He found slashrats easily enough, but they were all twenty meters from the Yuuzhan Vong village. They were active and would move toward it, directly or at an angle, then turn back. Some would even tunnel deep under it but never come up through the heart of it.

Corran feels fear and then fury coming from a Yuuzhan Vong slave:
Corran felt the slave's fear spike through the Force, then a severe burst of static rattled through Corran. The slave's fear vanished to be replaced by fury. With fingers hooked into claws and a feral scream falling from his lips, the slave charged headlong at one of the Yuuzhan Vong.

Corran senses a man going through a forest that would have been difficult for anyone not attuned to the Force because of the way he moved through the trees:
A sense of determination tinged with apprehension came to Corran through the Force. He looked to the south where a solitary young man ambled up the trail through the rain forest. Because of the Force, Corran had no trouble spotting him, yet the way the man moved through the forest would have made tracking him tough for anyone else. Clearly the man had lived on Garqi long enough to learn how to avoid detection in its forests.

Corran senses anguish in Ithorians and the death of Ithor while he was in bacta treatment:
He rested with his back against the door, less because of true fatigue than a reluctance to do what he had come to do. Threading his way through the Ralroost's passageways had been draining. Dodging groups of Ithorians in the narrow corridors made the journey hard, but it was not their physical presence alone that wore him down.
Through the Force he could feel their anguish. After his wounding he'd slipped into a Jedi trance and had been transferred immediately to a bacta tank. He had been floating there, barely conscious, when the Yuuzhan Vong attacked Ithor. He could feel life on the planet being extinguished, as if something were blotting out all the stars in the sky one by one.

Corran senses that the Sekotan ship he is flying in, a ship made from materials from Zonoma Sekot, is eager to return home and becomes more alive in the Force as they approach the planet:
"I don't think it's biology," Tahiri said. "I think it's the Force."
They both turned to her. "Explain," Corran said.
"This ship exists in the Force," Tahiri explained. "You can feel it, can't you, Corran? And the nearer we get to Sekot—"
"The stronger the connection becomes," he agreed. "Yeah, I've felt that." It was as if the ship was eagerly returning to a long-lost family.

Corran and Tahiri Veila use the Force to search for Luke Skywalker and his team on Zonoma Sekot, but because the planet is so strong in the Force and because they are still on a ship in orbit, the task is too difficult:
"For how long? If we can't find Luke—"
"I'm trying," Tahiri informed him. "I've been trying since we got here. But all I can sense is that planet. It's so strong in the Force it drowns everything else out."
"I'll try, too," Corran said. "It may be our only hope. Shaper, if there's anything you can do for that last dovin basal . . ."
"I will attend to it," Nen Yim replied.
They watched the moon grow. Both Jedi continued to reach out through the Force, but if Jacen and the rest were there, Tahiri clearly couldn't sense them. It was like listening for a voice in a sandstorm.

Corran senses Tahiri Veila's anger as she searches for Nen Yim's killer:

Corran senses Tahiri relax as she uses her Vongsense:
"We failed," Tahiri said. "Whatever Nom Anor was going to do, he's already done it, I'm sure of it."

She closed her eyes, and he felt her relax, reaching out to someplace he couldn't go.

Corran senses Leia Organa Solo as one of three mystery people on Corellia that had alerted Wedge Antilles and his family:
The interior of the hangar was in darkness, so it took his eyes no time to adjust. Across the access way between rows of rental hangars, three people were making a hurried approach. They stopped well short of Wedge's hangar and clustered around a personnel door two hangars down.
"Not our problem," Wedge said, rubbing his eyes. He'd gotten to sleep only an hour or two earlier, after a long session of performing vehicle repairs and maintenance. Myri had been right to awaken him, but he was anxious to get back to sleep.
"I think it is." The voice was Corran's, from just behind Wedge, and Wedge started.
He turned to offer Corran a mock glare. "Ex-CorSec and Jedi. Makes you twice as sneaky. What makes you think it's a problem? You can't even see out there."
"But I can feel." Corran gestured toward the distant arrivals. "One of them is Leia Solo."
Wedge whipped around and put his eye to the peephole again. The three people had disappeared, presumably having gone through the door. "You're sure."
"I'm sure."

Corran and the other Jedi Masters sensed a disturbance in the Jedi Temple which was a GAG squad trying to arrest Han and Leia Solo:
Corran and Kyp shot each other a nervous glance, then Kenth said, "We'll start as soon as you are ready, Master Sebatyne."
Saba flicked her tongue between her lips, trying to figure out why they would be waiting for her. "This one?"
"That's right," Corran said. He cast a glance over her shoulder toward Ben and Master Skywalker, then lowered his voice to a barely audible whisper. "You felt that disturbance on the upper access level a few moments ago?"
"Yes," Saba replied. "What was it? A newz crew trying to sneak holoz of the funeral?"
"Not exactly," Kyp said, also speaking softly. "It was a GAG squad."
Saba's jaw fell. "A GAG squad? Inside the Temple?"
"I'm afraid so," Kenth replied. "They tried to arrest the Solos."

Tutaminis
Absorption, or Tutaminis, or Negate/Absorb/Dissipate Energy, is a Force ability enabling one to absorb various forms of energy and channel it for personal use.
Corran is proficient in the abilities "Absorb Energy", "Deflect Blasters", and "Dissipate Energy":
—The New Jedi Order Sourcebook
Corran is proficient in the abilities "Negate Energy" and "Rebuke":
—Jedi Academy Training Manual
Corran is stated as being one of the few Jedi in the New Jedi Order, numbering around one hundred at the time, who has mastered the use of Tutaminis:
Rather than resisting the effects of energy damage, you actually absorb the damage and turn it to your advantage. Corran Horn is one of the few Jedi who have mastered this esoteric technique.

While on a training session with Luke Skywalker and the other Academy students, Corran is brought to a large pool under in an underground grotto. The students calmed themselves and eased into the Force easier than before but soon they were able to feel searingly hot gases that were released from the crust of Yavin IV and were making their way and would soon superheat the pool they were in to temperatures hot enough to roast the students alive. Corran sees that Tionne isn't going to be able to escape the pool quick enough so he manages to absorb all of the heat coming up and keep the pool at a cool temperature:
Somewhere, deep inside the moon's crust, searingly hot gases had been released and were jetting their way upward. They would bubble up and into the pool through the same cracks that allowed the water to fill the basin. In a heartbeat or three the water would be flooded with hot gasses, roasting us alive.
I fought panic and would not have made it but for two things. Above the splashing of others striking for the side of the pool, Master Skywalker's voice rose. "A Jedi feels no heat or cold. A Jedi can extinguish pain. Strengthen yourselves with the Force." The calm strength in his words banished my fear and allowed me to concentrate.
The second thing was a choked gasp from Tionne. She had lunged for the side of the pool but her slender fingers had failed to hang on. She sank abruptly and came back up, sputtering. She coughed hard and noisily sucked in air, then realized she would never get clear. In the lichen's light reflected by her pearly eyes, I saw that she knew she would die.
I refused to let her die. The frustration, pain and sorrow that had tortured me when my father died in my arms, became transformed into a determination that Tionne would not die here. I knew I had it within me, using the Force, to prevent her death. I opened myself to the Force, adamant that I would do whatever I needed to do—even dying—to save her.
The Force flooded into me as the superheated gasses hit the pool. I felt the heat hit my feet first and expected the Force to channel it around me. Instead the heat poured up through me. The Force insulated me from its destructive potential, then seemed to digest it into energy I could use. Without thinking I gestured toward Tionne with my cupped right hand and raised it.
As if riding a repulsorlift couch, the silver-haired apprentice rose from the water and drifted to the side. I set her down as gently as I could. She dropped to one knee and coughed again, with her silvery hair flowing down like a curtain between us.
I turned about to see if there was anyone else who needed help, but the roiling surface of the water had reverted to a more placid state and everyone else appeared to be fine. I sensed no pain, just surprise and gratitude and confidence. A smile blossomed on my face as I realized that I, too, had survived a lethal challenge by using the Force.

The Jedi Master watched me cautiously, his blue eyes intense even in the dim light. "Do you know what you did here?"
"As nearly as I could tell, the Force allowed me to serve as a conduit for the heat."
"Very good. There is another Jedi power that manifests with the absorption and dissipation of energy. My father had skill in it. He could absorb or deflect a blaster bolt without harm." Luke's voice became colder. "He even managed telekinetic tricks with the energy he pulled in."
"I don't like the sound of that, Master." I opened my hands towards him. "I just knew Tionne would die if I did nothing. Lifting her from the water seemed the most direct method for saving her. I did not think, I just acted."

Corran creates a small shield over himself with the Force after absorbing some of the heat created from a landing ship:
A quick blast from the transport's landing jets lifted debris on a searing wind that made some of the other apprentices duck back or raise their hands to shield their faces. I pulled the heat in and immediately used that energy to impose a tiny Force shield before me. It split the wind and saved me the annoyance of having to blink grit from my eyes and spit dirt from my mouth.

Corran absorbs some of the Force Push Kyp Durron used against him to create a shield that kept him from being blown back:
Kyp struck at me again through the Force, but I expected it this time. I relaxed and let the Force energy flow over and through me. I absorbed enough of it to let me create a shield that split the attack. The fact that I didn't end up being ground back against the wall surprised him.

Corran absorbs the energy from a taser-like weapon on two different occasions, the second time releasing it into the ground:
The Weequay jabbed me in the back with a truncheon which, I imagined, could deliver a nasty jolt to me if he only pushed the red button near his thumb. "Boss Booster wants you."
"Good, I want to see him, too."
"Surrender lightsaber."
I turned slowly on my heels and faced him, setting myself. "Not going to happen, quark-for-brains."
He poked me with the truncheon again and hit the button. I felt the tingle of the electricity, but just absorbed it. I smiled as I did so. "Power cells are dead. Really. I don't feel a thing."
The Weequay hit the button again, but my smile did not fade. I bled the energy off into the decking, which raised the fur on the head of a passing Bothan, but none of the guards seemed to notice. The Weequay looked at the stun baton as if it had betrayed him, then pressed his free hand against the tip and hit the button.
I snatched the truncheon from the air before it cold hit the floor, and looked past the Weequay's twitching form. I reversed the baton and offered the handle to another of the guards. "Clearly, it's defective. Now if you will take me to Booster . . ."

Corran absorbs a blaster bolt with his hand to save a Kubaz:
I turned to stalk back down the alley to the street. Even without the Force, I would have heard the snap of his blaster being pulled from the holster. Already three meters away, I turned, lit my lightsaber, and deflected the first shot into the alley wall, where it left a little guttering flame. Two more shots missed wide, I blocked a fourth to my left with the lightsaber, then saw that the fifth would miss right and drill the Kubaz struggling to his feet.
I reached out with my right hand and blocked the bolt, sucking as much of the energy in as I could. The shot stung, sending a jolt up my arm, but I shunted the pain aside and funneled the spare energy into telekinesis.

Corran is able to absorb nearly all of the energy from numerous mines that were set up to destroy an entire warehouse. He used a lot of the energy to expel the blast upwards so that it wouldn't damage the surrounding area and hurt any bystanders and with the excess energy at the end, he put an image into everyone's mind he could touch that he had survived the encounter:
I thumbed my lightsaber on and pointed it up at him. "Tell Shala I have all the credits I need to pay his price right here. Where would he like them deposited?"
The Hutt laughed, which was not the sort of warm friendly sound one usually associated with laughter. His shoulders bounced, his fat bounced more, and a greenish foam crested the lower lip of his mouth and cascaded down his chin. The sound, however, that was even uglier. As it trailed to a wheeze, I heard a click and saw the Hutt raise his right hand. In it he had a remote with a big red button held down by his thumb.
The droid spoke again. "Shala asks me to inform you this is a deadhutt switch that will set off a variety of explosives here. He says that he has enough explosives here to destroy everything for a kilometer around us. If you do not surrender, many innocent people will die."
All around us I saw little red lights come on and begin to blink, making me groan inwardly. In the light from above I caught enough detail—crosshatched panels curving inward with a red light blinking on top—to know I was looking at Merr-Sonn Munitions LX-1 laser-flechette mines all pointed in my direction. When detonated, the panels would absorb the energy from the explosives and the laser diodes would spray out clouds of laser bolts. To complicate matters, the mines usually had a three meter backlash of pure explosive fire, which would feed into the chemical drums I'd passed on my way in. That would trigger subsidiary explosions that would make quite a mess.
Based on the drums I saw, and what I knew of the mines, there wasn't really as much explosive power here as Shala said there was. Either he is lying or . . . I glanced up and above the spotlight, and caught the blinking of another LX-1. Or he was told things are a lot different than they are. Here at stupidity central, we'll be vaped, and the neighborhood will get quaked, but we're not talking square kilometers of wastage.
I shook my head. "Your Twi'lek set all this up for you?"
The Hutt mumbled. "Master Shala says he is most pleased with Rach'talik's work."
"Me? I'd want a refund." I smiled up Shala, and gave him a cold laugh of my own. "You've made two mistakes, Shala. One, you're at ground zero yourself. Two, you think I can't stop you."
I rotated my right wrist, twisting the throttle control up, and whipped the lightsaber around in a slash aimed to slice the deadHutt switch in two. With the twist I turned the lightsaber's emerald out of the way and I brought the diamond into line with the Durindfire beam. This extended the blade from 133 centimeters to 300, narrowing it, but bringing the Hutt's hand easily into striking range. Quick flick of the wrist, cleave the control in two, and the day would be saved. That would be the easy way.
Easy is not for a Jedi.
With a puff of smoke, the lightsaber's blade sputtered and died.
I remember the look of surprise on Shala's face. I'm pretty certain it came from watching the lightsaber blade grow out at him, but I'm not wholly convinced of that. I think, though, the horror that tinged his expression, that came from the realization that in his surprise, he'd dropped the remote.
Rach'talik, in addition to wanting to replace Shala, was a virtuoso with explosives. The LX-1s went off in sequence, not all at once, washing the area with wave after wave of laser flechettes. Each blast scoured the center of the warehouse from a different angle, guaranteeing that no unexploded mines would be hit, but adding laser fire to the chemical fires and exploding drums.
And he even saved the blast from above for last, maximizing the chances that Shala would live long enough to know he had been betrayed.
Had Rach'talik gone for quality instead of quality, I, too, would have been reduced to a greasy, steaming stain on the duracrete. I knew, from the second I saw the remote fall, I had only one chance at survival, and only one chance to try to contain the damage. I sank within myself, touched the Force, started it flowing, and sucked in every stray erg being sprayed on my direction. I felt sting after sting, as if I were sliding through a Sarlacc's gullet, and it felt as if I were descending into a black pit of pain. I directed some of the Force to help me blunt the pain, but that made it much more difficult to hold on to all of the power I was absorbing.
I knew I couldn't hang on to it for long, and I knew I needed to use it to contain the explosion's deadly force. As I had done in the grotto to save Tionne, I channeled all of it into telekinesis and raised my left hand. I twisted my wrist, starting the energies swirling into a vortex. I could feel the air begin to whirl around me, tightening, quickening. Flames from the chemical fires leaped toward the center of the room, spinning themselves into the vortex. Loose debris, flaming bits of duraplast and rattling, clattering pieces of scrap metal flew into the air, filling the fiery cyclone with dark specks.
I pushed and drove the vortex up and out through the roof, enlarging the hole the last mine had already opened. Chemical drums sailed up, exploding as they went, pulsing green and purple fire through the rising funnel. Flames wreathed me and I sucked their heat in, then vented it back out, up and out, building the fire-storm's strength until it ripped the warehouse's roof off and crumpled it like a discarded piece of flimsiplast.
The warehouse's doors banged open, then ripped free and flew like sabacc cards into the maelstrom. The warehouse's viewports imploded as air rushed in to feed the firestorm. I no longer needed to push, it had become a thing of its own, almost living, certainly breathing. I felt it tug at me, but the energy it fed me kept me rooted in place. I reached out with my mind, pitching up into the column of fire the last several unexploded chemical drums, watched them blossom brilliantly, then smiled. The explosion had been contained, drawn inward. Though the warehouse's corrugated metal walls glowed dully from the heat, they had not buckled. The tremors from the explosions had rippled out through the ground, but beyond that—and the fiery spear thrust into the sky—only the warehouse would be damaged by the Hutt's deathtrap.
I opened my eyes and nodded as I surveyed the destruction. Shala had set a trap, and, in turn, had been trapped himself. I should have died, but I survived—survived in a way that Corran Horn of CorSec could never have managed. I had survived—no, I had won. Shala's spectacular defeat would certainly crack the resolve of the other groups.

Corran allows himself to be burned by a lightsaber so that he could absorb and use that energy and sensation of pain to put that sensation into the minds of two men who were being held by the Embrace of Pain. This caused the Embrace to slacken its hold on the men, allowing Corran and Ganner to free them:

Telekinesis
Telekinesis is a common Force ability that affords the user the ability to alter and distort the environment and reality around them.
**This section will mostly cover TK feats that Corran was able to accomplish after absorbing energy into him via Tutaminis and using that energy to bolster his Telekinetic abilities, as without that outside help, Corran isn't adept at TK at all. These feats will be marked with a "*".
*Using the energy he absorbed from extremely hot gases, Corran is able to lift Tionne out of a pool and set her outside of it:

*Corran uses the energy from a blaster bolt he absorbed to pull a blaster from a man's hand:
I closed my right hand into a fist, then pulled. I wrenched the blaster from his hand, snapping a couple of fingers as I went, then tossed it high onto a roof.

*Corran uses the excess energy he had thanks to absorbing several explosive mines to create a large vortex that sucked in the fire, air, unexploded mines, and several pieces of debris inside of a warehouse and shot it up through a hole in the roof and safely away from anyone nearby:
Had Rach'talik gone for quality instead of quality, I, too, would have been reduced to a greasy, steaming stain on the duracrete. Corran uses the Force to cushion his fall as he descended down a lift shaft, causing him to land hard but not fatally:
He took his jacket off. Outside, a steady pounding began as the rain came. Thunder crashed nearby. He reached out and touched the cable experimentally, then wrapped the jacket around it, getting a firm grip. He swung himself over the guardrail and reaffirmed the grip.
"This should be fun," he said.
"It looks like fun," Tahiri said. "Be careful. I'd hate to have to explain to Mirax what happened to you."
"Just watch those lifts," Corran reminded her.
Then he let his body slide out into the air.
For the first few seconds, he was in true free fall, accelerating toward the bottom of the shaft at the exponential speed of gravity. Then he began to tighten his grip, creating friction against the cable. His rate of fall slowed, but his arms complained, and the jacket warmed quickly. He relaxed again, clamped down again, alternating.
Above him, the top of the shaft had already diminished to a circle so small that Tahiri's face was barely visible. Below him, the light strips on the walls still met together in a point.
He had a long way to go, and proceeding like this he wasn't going to make it. His arms would wear out long before he reached the bottom, or more likely the jacket would burn through. He'd known that from the start, but had needed to experiment with the cable for what he was about to do.
He closed his eyes, feeling the air rush past, feeling the living Force around him, the great pulsing life of Sekot, the unseen floor, his own body, all one in the Force—
And relaxed. He kept his hands loosely around the cable, but put no pressure on it. He was really falling now, his body trending horizontal as the atmosphere pushed against it. Fear tried to rise up and take him, but he batted it away. There was nothing to be afraid of—he knew he could do this.
Of course, he'd always had a little trouble with levitation . . .
He had to get the moment exactly right, and he had to trust the Force to let him know when it was.
It came. He clamped down on the jacket, and his arms felt like they were coming out of their sockets. The smell of scorched synthleather filled his nostrils, and he felt the floor coming up, still too fast. He pushed, pushed in the Force—
—and slammed into the ground. He felt his knees buckle, released the jacket, and rolled.
"Ouch," he murmured.

Force Shield
Force Shield, or Force Barrier, is an ability that creates a protective barrier of energy over the user.
Corran creates a small shield over himself with the Force to protect against the high winds from a landing ship:

Corran is warned of a surprise swipe from Brakiss:
Brakiss spun and nearly slashed my face with his stick. Fortunately for me I'd had forewarning about the arc of his arm and ducked beneath it.

Heal
Force Healing is a light-sided Force technique that can heal wounds and ease pains.
Corran is proficient in the use of Force Heal:
—The New Jedi Order Sourcebook
Corran, learning to heal himself with the Force from one of his grandfather's journals, is able to speed up the healing process of his injured hand. The injuries he had were two broken bones in his left hand and lots of edema, cuts, and abrasions on both hands:
I actually managed to do a lot during the time I was healing, and my imminent elevation to Tavira's side helped me immeasurably. When I was asked, for example, why I didn't use the bacta tanks on Courkrus to speed my healing, I said Tavira would think me weak if I could not endure the pain. That satisfied most folks, while the Jedi healing techniques Elegos uncovered from the journals actually allowed me to speed my healing.
Source: I, Jedi
Corran knows Jedi healing techniques that would normally heal the dozens of little cuts he had across his body, nose, and scalp, if not for him being exhausted after absorbing the energy from multiple mines that would have destroyed a warehouse:
It was at the point when I realized that I was naked that the first wave of exhaustion hit me and I began to notice other things. The imploding viewports had shattered into tiny little transparisteel fragments that had scourged me. I was bleeding from dozens of little cuts, including one across my nose and another somewhere in my scalp. I knew a simple Jedi healing technique could seal them and accelerate healing, but I found I was having trouble concentrating.

Corran is able to shunt away the pain from being stabbed through his right hip during his fight with Yuuzhan Vong commander Shedao Shai:

Battlemind/Enhance Ability
Battlemind is a Force power where one's morale and fighting spirit is augmented through sheer focus, giving them the drive to fight through the hardest conflicts, overcome old age and fight while low on stamina.
Corran is proficient in the ability "Battlemind" and "Enhance Ability":
—The New Jedi Order Sourcebook
Corran uses the Force to strengthen and quicken him during his fight with Yuuzhan Vong commander Shedao Shai and Luke describes the Force as "wreathing" him:
Luke felt the Force wreathing Corran. It strengthened him and quickened him, but could not predict for him what his enemy would do.

Corran uses the Force to augment his speed to help sprint after Nom Anor:
The two Jedi stumbled through the newly broken terrain. The ship was on the ground, and Nom Anor was running toward it. Tahiri ran as she never had before, drawing on the turbulent Force around them. Corran was just ahead of her. They were gaining on the executor.

Corran uses the Force to jump into his starfighter's cockpit:
Wedge and Corran angled into the Flag Hangar, each skidding as he made the hard turn from the corridor. Their astromechs had done a preliminary power-up, and the canopies of both snubfighters were already open. Wedge was first to his vehicle, but Corran, rather than climbing the ladder hanging from his cockpit, leapt lightly into his pilot's couch. Wedge swore at the Jedi under his breath and climbed his ladder.

Force Meld
Force Meld or Jedi Meld or Battle Meld, is a powerful Jedi technique where Jedi can join their minds together, becoming stronger than if they stood alone, and allow them to communicate with each other through the Force. In Outbound Flight, it is revealed that a Jedi Master of great power and depth in the Force is required to successfully utilize it.
.
By telepathically linking their minds together, Jedi can draw on one another's strength for support. Initially referred to as Force-meld or Jedi meld, the power became most commonly known as battle-meld because of its more frequent use in combat. Battle-meld permits a group of Jedi to become stronger than if each stood alone, while also enabling them to communicate with one another through the Force. Using a combination of the group's minds and perceptions, each individual Jedi gains a sense of the entire battle arena, helping them to better discern where to move tactical elements and when to press an attack, hold back, or withdraw. By narrowing his or her focus, a Jedi can also sense the distinct personalities and feelings of the individuals who make up the meld.
— Jedi vs Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force
Corran takes part in a Jedi Meld while flying a StealthX starfighter to attack the Dark Nest's nest ship with several Jedi, some of which are Luke Skywalker, Mara Jade Skywalker, Jacen Solo, Kyle Katarn, Kyp Durron, Kenth Hamner, and Tresina Lobi.
Corran and the other Jedi pilots are able to sense an inattentive ship while in approach to a planet and maneuver to avoid it, keeping themselves hidden from the Dark Nest:
The Jedi StealthXs appeared—as always—as though by magic, an entire wing of dark X's hanging against the crimson veil of the Utegetu Nebula. They floated there for just an instant, then drifted over to the black ribbon of a stellar dust cloud and vanished, darkness merging into darkness. It all happened so quickly that any picket ship pilots who happened to be looking in that direction would blink, question what they had seen, and check their instruments. And their instruments would assure them that their eyes had been mistaken.
The StealthXs continued their approach in full confidence that they remained undetected, and soon the bright disk of the yellow planet Sarm began to swell in the forward panels of their cockpit canopies. The Jedi pilots kept a careful watch for sentries—both on their sensor screens and by reaching out in the Force—and easily avoided a single inattentive blastboat operated by pirates. The StealthXs reached Sarm unobserved . . . and unsettled. The Jedi knew better than to underestimate a foe—especially during a war. The Killiks would not leave themselves exposed like this without good reason.
Source: Dark Nest III: The Swarm War
Corran fills the meld with heaviness after losing one of his pilots during an attack run:
By the time the last weapon detonated, the Gorog were in such a state of shock that all defensive fire had ceased within a kilometer of the impact area. Luke swung his StealthX around and found a cloud of steam, bodies, and equipment tumbling from the crater, so thick it obscured the ship's hull. He could sense by the exhilaration in the meld that Kyp's attack on the stern of the ship had also gone well, but there was a certain heaviness in Corran's squadron that Luke knew all too well: a Jedi had fallen in the assault on the bow.
Source: Dark Nest III: The Swarm War
Corran fills the meld with tension as his and Kyp Durron's squad prepare for the second phase of the Jedi's attack:
Once Luke sensed that his squadron had re-formed behind him, he continued forward, using the Force to clear a path through the cloud of flotsam and bodies still pouring from the Gorog nest's interior. He knew by the growing tension of the meld that Corran and Kyp were also returning to begin the second, more dangerous phase of the assault. And he shared in their hope that the Alliance battle fleet would arrive soon. Once the Jedi began the final destruction of the Dark Nest, they were going to need all the support they could get.
Source: Dark Nest III: The Swarm War
Corran senses alarm through the meld from Kyle Katarn, Kenth Hamner, and Tresina Lobi:
Luke and Mara and Jacen passed the fortieth deck and continued down to the fiftieth, the shaft narrowing to barely more than the spread of a StealthX's wings. The excitement in the meld turned to fear and anger and all the other emotions that boiled to surface in the midst of a pitched battle, then Kenth and Kyle and Tresina Lobi began to radiate alarm, warning Luke and Kyp and Corran that trouble was on its way.
Source: Dark Nest III: The Swarm War
Corran senses Luke Skywalker calling for aid through the meld:
"Lomi Plo is here," Luke commed. At the same time, he was reaching into the battle-meld, calling Kyp and Corran and the rest of the Jedi to his side, letting them know it was time to close the trap. "She came after us."

Master Zao is a blind Veknoid Jedi Master who was active during the later and final years of the Galactic Republic. He did not accept missions from the Jedi High Council but chose to follow the will of force, acting as a leaf and going wherever the wind or the Force takes him. Zao also chose not to participate in the Clone Wars as a Jedi General, still traveling the galaxy as a leaf blown in the wind, which allowed him to survive the events of Order 66 and the Jedi Purge. He would meet up with Jedi Master K'Kruhk and help him and a group of younglings escape and create a community where they could live and train in peace. Zao was unique not just because of his philosophy on the Force and Jedi as a whole but also because he used a lightsaber cane.
This thread will be divided into the following categories:

Other/Misc.
(Star Wars: Darkness Issue #03) Zao cooks a simple stew that is in balance with everything and the Force and how a being reacts to his cooking tells him a lot about their standing in the Force. Criminals and sketchy beings have severely disliked it and accused Zao of poisoning them while Jedi like T'ra Saa and Tholme have found it extremely nourishing and well balanced:
(Star Wars Republic Issue #73) Zao gives Master Tholme a lesson on how the Jedi should serve the Force instead of the Republic:
(Star Wars: Dark Times - Fire Carrier Issue #01) Zao teaches a group of younglings that if you go into a situation already knowing what you're looking for and not leave yourself open to the Force, you can miss out and go down the wrong path. The main point of the lesson is to be aware and observe but not to assume:

(Star Wars: Dark Times - Fire Carrier Issue #02) The imminent danger Zao sensed while at the camp was danger for all the refugees. Everyone was given a datapad that would light up when their group was ready to be lifted off-world, but the shuttle that was supposed to take them instead brought everyone on board to another part of the planet and killed them:
(Star Wars: Dark Times - Fire Carrier Issue #03) Zao then tells K'Kruhk that there's no use looking for survivors because he can sense the echo of the refugees's death and that they were dumped from high in the air and fell to their deaths:

(Star Wars: Darkness Issue #02/03) Zao, alongside Jedi Master Tholme and Quinlan Vos, defend themselves from a large group of criminals before the cantina they were in was attacked by feral anzati. They then defend themselves from the anzati until they retreat. You can't see Zao in all of the scans since the comic is mostly focusing on Quinlan Vos but Zao appears afterwards uninjured:
(Star Wars: Darkness Issue #04) Zao holds off more feral Anzati outside of Volfe Karkko's chamber alongside Jedi Masters T'ra Saa and Tholme. They continue to do so until Vilmarh Grahrk comes with his ship to finish off the Anzati:
It was T'ra Saa who first discovered the resurgence of dark side energy that emanated from Volfe Karkko after the Anzati was released from his stasis field by Aayla Secura. She teamed with Quinlan Vos and two Jedi Masters, Tholme and Zao, to defeat the Anzati Sith magician.
Saesee Tiin is a Jedi who doesn't get enough of the credit he deserves. He's a great pilot only behind Anakin Skywalker, a powerful Jedi, and one of the most skilled duelists the Jedi Order has produced. He's a quiet and solitary guy but prefers the tough missions and is apart of probably the greatest Jedi strike team ever, consisting of himself, Agen Kolar, Kit Fisto, and Mace Windu. Saesee has been sitting on the Jedi High Council for decades, suggesting that despite his solidarity and desire to be alone, he's still highly respected by his fellow peers. He was chosen as one of the few to arrest Chancellor Palpatine, however the Sith Lord proved to be too strong for Saesee and the group. There's already two other RTs for Saesee made by Silver2467 and WollfMyth209 but this is going to be my take on the character.
This thread will be divided into the following categories:

Strength/Speed
Saesee carries someone with one hand and deflects blasters with another:
The two judicials who had fought beside Tiin were wounded. The Iktotchi carried one of them under his left arm, while he continued to divert bolts with the lightsaber clutched in his right hand.

Saesee moves his blade in a blur and deflects fire from half a dozen shooters:
Not far away, Saesee Tiin led another pair of judicials in a charge against a half a dozen terrorists entrenched in a narrow alley between two of the pyramids, his blade a blur of cobalt as it parried bolts and sent blasters flying from outstretched hands.
Source: Cloak of Deception
Tiin also produces a shield out of his Lightsaber along side Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ki-Adi-Mundi:
Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Tiin, and Ki-Adi-Mundi surged from the pyramid entrance, engaging the terrorists that had driven them back. A quarter of the way across the immense plaza, the Jedi spread out in a wedge formation, their constantly moving blades fending off blaster bolts loosed from ahead and to either side. Behind the energy barrier fashioned by the lightsabers, Yaddle, Depa, Vergere, and two of the judicials raced out to divert fire from the rear.

Saesee Tiin's strength in the Force was among the greatest of the Jedi.
Saesee's flying practise also helped to hone his Force abilities. By the time he arrived at the Jedi Temple, he was already adept at channeling his Force connection. As he progressed in the Order, he was acknowledged as having one of the strongest Force abilities of all the Jedi.

Jedi Masters are the top of the heap in the Jedi Order, they know powerful secrets that few Jedi even can comprehend and only few survive to even make it to Jedi Master:
Jedi Masters have reached the top of their craft within the Jedi Order. A deep understanding of The Force is a must, for a Jedi Master is able to unlock powerful secrets that few Jedi even dream of comprehending. It is not a journey made quickly, and few Jedi survive long enough to complete it.

Telepathy
Telepathy is the power to sense, communicate and manipulate the thoughts of others.
Saesee's telepathic powers were greater than any on his homeworld:
One of the more intriguing Jedi telepaths on record is the Iktotchi Jedi Master Saesee Tiin, who served on the Jedi Council during the Clone Wars. Like all Iktotchi, Master Tiin was a natural telepath, but his powers were much greater than any other on his homeworld.

Despite such hushed criticism, Tiin was a formidable warrior and an incredible pilot. His Iktotchi heritage granted him strong telepathic abilities.
Source: Star Wars Databank
In the Great Holocron, Saesee states that he never had trouble communicating his thoughts or comprehending the thoughts of others and that he was a natural receiver and transmitter of thoughts:
"When I was a Padawan, many of my fellow students believed that my inherited telepathic abilities gave me an unfair advantage in my education. It is true that I never had difficulty in communicating my thoughts or comprehending the thoughts of others, but I do not believe that this made my education any easier. For unlike my peers, I was a natural receiver and transmitter of thoughts, a condition that I--not then able to organize incoming thoughts or consistently contain my own deliberations--often considered a hindrance and, at times, an embarrassment."
Source: Jedi vs Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force
In the Great Holocron, Saesee talks about how he could and often did incorporate his abilities into a fight:
"I did my best to seal off my mind from others. I found that I could home in on the minds of specific beings if I maintained eye contact. I also learned to incorporate my abilities during a fight.
In combat, telepaths do have a distinct edge. Even if one fights by instinct and reflex, most cannot stop themselves from emitting monosyllabic thoughts that project their next movement. During my training bouts at the Jedi Temple, my opponents unwittingly revealed their every move, allowing me that crucial fraction of a moment that enabled me to be the one who would remain standing."
Source: Jedi vs Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force
In the Great Holocron, Saesee inscribes a recording where he states that he can use Telepathy to project his own thoughts, isolate his brain waves, intercept thoughts, communicate across space, discern lies, and probe memories:
"I'd thought I knew more than I needed to know about telepathy, but Master Omo showed me that I was wrong. He showed me how to use the Force to isolate my own brain waves, intercept stray thoughts and screen dozens of minds at once. How to whisper across space, yell without noise, keep secrets, and sift through layers of lies and buried memories to uncover the truth. How to seek out information from the stars themselves, allowing one to astrogate a starship through lightspeed without a nav computer."

(Star Wars: The Stark Hyperspace War Part 4) Saesee links his mind with the Jedi of the Council and Sha Koon and enhances their mental abilities in order to contact Plo Koon on another planet:
Saesee appears to read Qui-Gon's mind regarding the Living Force:
"I'm not worried, Masters," Obi-Wan said good-naturedly. "I'm only thinking forward." He waited for Qui-Gon to offer some piece of wisdom regarding the living Force, but for once his Master kept silent.
"Right you are to think forward, Padawan," Yaddle told him. "Deal lightly with matters of consequence, and decisively with those of little consequence. Difficult it is to face a crisis and solve it gently, if not resolved beforehand you are, for uncertainty will impede your efforts. When comes the time, thinking forward allows you to deal lightly."
Her big eyes shifted to favor Qui-Gon. "Agree do you, Qui-Gon?"
He bowed his head. "As you say, Master."
Diagonally across the table from Yaddle, Saesee Tiin glanced up and smiled, as if reading Qui-Gon's thoughts.

Farsight
Farsight is a Force ability that allows a Jedi to sense the occurrence of distant events or get brief glimpses of the future.
Saesee was known in the Jedi Order for his ability to see the future:
Saesee Tiin was also one of the few Jedi Masters who never took a Padawan. He served on the Jedi Council at the time of the battle of Naboo, and was known for his foresight and his ability to foresee the future.

All Iktotchi have the ability to peer into the future:
Old Republic scouts discovered the Iktotchi some 3,500 years before the Battle of Yavin—and were surprised to find the Iktotchi were waiting for them. Members of this species had an innate form of precognition that allowed them to foresee that the scout ship was coming several weeks before it actually arrived.

All Iktotchi possess a natural gift of low-grade precognition. For most of them, it manifests itself in prophetic dreams that predict events that will shape the lives of millions. Most Iktotchi are unable to control when they have precognitive visions, but instead receive them as particularly vivid dreams or daydreams.

Instinctive Astrogation
Instinctive Astrogation is a Force ability that allows a Force user to calculate astrogation routes without the use of a nav computer, using the Force to feel through the myriad of hyperspace routes to determine the safest path.
Saesee is able to pilot a ship without the use of a nav computer and instead relies on the Force to plot courses through hyperspace, which he states he learned from his Master Omo Bouri.
Each Jedi connects to the Force in his or her own way, and Tiin's Force abilities allowed him to focus his thoughts to control his starfighter even while traveling through hyperspace. While flying at lightspeed, Tiin had no need of a nav computer. He increased the Sharp Spiral's performance by taking hyperspace shortcuts and flying dangerously close to mass shadows.

Sense
Force Sense is a basic power allowing Force sensitives to sense their surroundings, feel and determine the thoughts or feelings of others, feel ripples in the Force signifying important events, the presence of the dark side, or even sense the future.
Saesee senses the dark side that festers Darth Maul's personal ship, the Scimitar, and how it tempts him with fantastic journeys:
"That ship is alive with the dark side, Master Yoda. I can feel it clinging to my robes. And worse, it still tempts me, calling me back with promises of fantastic journeys to the far reaches of the galaxy."

Lightsaber and Combat Skill
(Canon) Saesee is a master of the lightsaber:
The imposing Saesee Tiin was a member of the Jedi Council during the final years of the Republic. In addition to being a skilled, courageous master of the lightsaber, he was also a capable starfighter pilot.
Saesee is one of the finest warriors in the Jedi Order:

Mace Windu sent only three Republic cruisers to put down the uprising. Though the cruisers carried some of the best Jedi in the order--including Windu, Adi Gallia, Eeth Koth, Plo Koon, Micah Giiett, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Qui-Gon's Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi--the Yinchorri possessed cortosis-weave armor that could resist lightsaber cuts.

Mace Windu considers Saesee Tiin among the four greatest Masters the Jedi Order has to offer as he picks Saesee, Agen Kolar, and Kit Fisto to accompany him to arrest Chancellor Palpatine, the suspected second Sith Lord:
"Minutes ago," Mace said, "we received confirmation from Utapau: Kenobi was successful. Grievous is dead."
"Time it is to execute our plan."
"I will personally deliver the news of Grievous's death." Mace flexed his hands. "It will be up the Chancellor to ceded his emergency powers back over to the Senate."
"Forget not the existence of Sidious. Anticipate your action, he may. Masters will be necessary, if the Lord of the Sith you must face."
"I have chosen four of our best. Master Tiin, Master Kolar, and Master Fisto are all here, in the Temple. They are preparing already."
"What about Skywalker? The chosen one."
"Too much of a risk," Mace replied. "I am the fourth."

Shaak Ti then echoes this statement to Anakin Skywalker when he tries to go help Mace Windu and his team, telling him that the three Windu brought are the best in the Order:
She stepped aside, allowing him to the pad; she had no reason to keep him here against his will. He punched the code angrily. "If Palpatine retaliates," she said reasonably, "is not your place here, to help with our defense?"
"I'm the chosen one. My place is there." His breathing roughened, and he looked as if he was getting even sicker. "I have to be there. That's the prophecy, isn't it? I have to be there--"
"Anakin, why? The Masters are the best of the Order. What can you possibly do?"

Saesee is a celebrated swordmaster:
Most of the Jedi are deployed on distant worlds, but Mace manages to assemble a trio of celebrated swordmasters to assist him in arresting Palpatine: Agen Kolar, a Zabrak known among the Jedi to strike first and ask questions later; Saesee Tiin, a solitary Iktotchi who has never chosen a Padawan learner; and Kit Fisto, Nautolan master of Form 1 lightsaber technique, who distinguished himself on Geonosis and Mon Calamari, and who partnered Mace in battling Grievous on Coruscant.

(Jedi Council: Acts of War Issue #3) Saesee Tiin is able to hold off dozens of Yinchorri warriors alongside Jedi Masters Mace Windu and Qui-Gon Jinn and Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi in time for a rescue team to reach them and get them out of there. What makes Yinchorri so dangerous is that they are immune to telepathic influence by the Force, are extremely aggressive reptilians, and are equipped with cortosis shields that short circuit a lightsaber after contact is made between them. After another group of Jedi join the fight and divert attention away from Saesee and his group, he jumps down the ledge he was on and takes out a tank, killing its drivers and leaving it inoperable. Saesee then continues to fight until the Jedi make a large enough dent in the Yinchorri forces to retreat to their ship. As you can see from the scans the fighting keeps going, but these are all the ones with Saesee actually shown. We later see him with the Jedi as they prepare to retreat:

When the Yinchorri began attacking Republic outposts, the Jedi were called in to put an end to the so-called Yinchorri Uprising. Only after taking many losses were the Jedi able to destroy the base on Uhanayih and force a surrender.
Source: The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia
The reptilian Yinchorri controlled several worlds in their star system, including their home planet Yinchorr and the colony moons of Yitheeth, Yibikkor, and Uhanayih. Stirrings of aggression against neighboring planets prompted Chancellor Valorum to dispatch a Jedi team to assess the situation. The Yinchorri dumped the bodies of the Jedi investigators on Valorum's doorstep.
They also had the advice and silent backing of Darth Sidious.
Yoda stopped a Yinchorri assault against the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, but Mace Windu's team walked into a bloodbath on the worlds of the Yinchorr system. The Jedi casualties included Micah Giiett, who sacrificed himself to slow the advance of Yinchorri troops. Ultimately, Valorum won Senate approval of an emergency measure to blockade the system, forcing the Yinchorri to surrender in the face of an overwhelming power.

(Star Wars: Infinity's End Part 1) Saesee spares evenly with Jedi Master Mace Windu:
(Star Wars: Jedi Mace Windu) Now although this was just a spar and not at all intended for the two Jedi to go at each other as if to kill, but compare it to the spar between Mace Windu and Quinlan Vos a few months after the battle of Geonosis. Quinlan admits he hasn't picked up a lightsaber in a few months since he's been undercover, but just from the beginning you can see the sweat forming on his forehead and that Mace holds a clear advantage he didn't against Saesee, seeming to hold back and still physically strike Quinlan. Yes the spar is a little longer in this case, but you have to admit that a member of the Jedi High Council and one of the greatest duelists in the Order would fare better against Mace than a somewhat rusty Quinlan Vos did:
Saesee Tiin was a member of the Jedi Strike team that was led by Mace Windu and taken to Geonosis in an attempt to rescue Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padawan Anakin Skywalker, and Senator Padme Amidala. The force was 200 hundred Jedi strong but they were severely outnumbered, needing the help of Yoda and the new Clone army to save them from being captured or worse by Count Dooku and the Confederacy:

(Star Wars: Republic Issue #66) Saesee Tiin helps Mace Windu, Kit Fisto, and Agen Kolar infiltrate a bounty hunter base to find out who put bounties on Jedi. Mace and Kit split from the group and left Saesee and Agen to secure the control room while battling dozens of bounty hunters:
During the battle of Coruscant, Saesee led the defense in space until he noticed a damaged Republic cruiser that was doomed and bound to see the death of most on board. Saesee takes his fighter and lands it on the ship, ordering the clones to join him as he attempts to take control of a Separatist ship and use it against them. Saesee leads the charge as the damaged Republic cruiser flies over a Separatist ship, Saesee jumps out, lands on the outside of the ship, and cuts a hole inside with his lightsaber. Once inside, he fights his way to the bridge and takes control, using the ship's cannons to fire on other Separatist ships:

Piloting Skill
Saesee Tiin learned how to fly a variety of starships on the moon of his homeworld, was trained to instinctively fly any craft, and was known throughout the Republic military as an excellent dogfighter:
This Iktotchi Jedi Master was born on the moon of Iktotch, where he learned to fly a variety of starships. Over time, after Force training under the guidance of Jedi Master Omo Bouri, Tiin could instinctively fly virtually any craft. He was known in the Republic military as an excellent dogfighter, but was also something of a loner who preferred solitary contemplation over crowded meetings.

Saesee received his own personal starfighter, the Sharp Spiral, after saving a diplomat from a convoy of pirates:
Although Jedi avoid personal possessions, Saesee Tiin cherished the Sharp Spiral. He received the SoruSuub Cutlass-9 patrol starfighter from grateful Duros diplomats after he rescued their convoy from pirates. The vehicle was competent from the start, but Tiin drastically redesigned the craft to suit his own unique abilities. He removed the starship's deflector shields to make room for a handcrafted hyperdrive and later replaced the vehicle's blaster cannons with military-grade lasers confiscated from a Hutt arms dealer. A small proton torpedo launcher was concealed beneath the starfighter.

Of all Saesee's epic acts of bravery and skill, none can surpass those he achieved in his own specialized starfighter, the Sharp Spiral. Saesee had been awarded the Soro-Suub Cutlass-9 patrol fighter by a group of grateful Duros diplomats after the Jedi had saved them from space pirates. Due to his skills, Saesee was permitted to keep the gift and immediately set about modifying it. The already superb performance of the ship was improved to levels that matched Saesee's skills.

Saesee is noted for having defeated three battle cruisers by himself without allowing the enemies to land a single shot on his ship:
It was in the Sharp Spiral that Master Saesee Tiin performed one of his most famous deeds. For some years, Saesee had established close links with a group of independent conscience-fighters called Freedom's Sons. The group fought for liberty and were usually allies of the Republic. However, when a faction within Freedom's Sons became corrupt, Saesee set out to apprehend them. It was an unbalanced fight—Saesee in the Sharp Spiral and the rogue Freedom's Sons members in three battleships. Despite outgunning Saesee many times over, the renegades could not land a single shot on the Sharp Spiral, so fast did it fly. With cool calm, Saesee went about destroying the shields, engines and weapons systems of all three ships. He then left the ships stranded for Republic forces to pick up.Source: The Official Star Wars Fact File #114
The Sharp Spiral's most dramatic mission pitted the starfighter against three warships piloted by rogue members of the Freedom's Sons. Although the Sharp Spiral lacked deflector shields, Tiin was able to fly rings around the trained soldiers. With Jedi precision, he destroyed every key component on the warships, including the deflector shield generators and control towers. The disabled ships were left floating in space until Republic authorities arrived to arrest the mercenaries.
