@thetruebarryallen: I mainly ask cause I had asked Floopay about Overwatch Reaper's Powerset, and he said it was a 2 pointer, and his powerset is pretty simmilar to Emily's (Or any mark user really) mark.

Interesting -- I'm certainly willing to remove abilities if they prove too strong for the class limit, I made sure to look at power limits for both the class and powers in general and I didn't see anything game-breaking or limit pushing, but I could be wrong. I believe in Shadow Form I can still be injured since in-game enemies can still react/respond to it whereas Reaper has some functional intangibility from what I remember in the cinematic.

@thetruebarryallen: Do you get everything the Mark Provides?

I'm under the impression that I get what Emily Kaldwin was able to do.

  • Shadow Walk - Limited (30 second) shadow form, harder to spot, can move through small cracks.
  • Mesmerize - Quick distraction -- makes people forget they saw me/clouds memory.
  • Far Reach - Mobility -- can anchor onto a point or thing and move to it or move it to me (limited TK basically).
  • Doppleganger - Version of myself -- last 30 seconds.
  • Domino - Can link fates -- what happens to one target happens to another. Doesn't work on people or things stronger than me. Also discussed adding a rolling mechanic so it's possible for the link to fail -- critical failure (1) hurts me instead.

I'm certainly willing to limit it if needed or if other people think so, but given the gameplay limitations/time limits I think it's within the class limits.

No Dark vision though since it breaks the sensory limits of the class.

At some point she met V3 with whom she built the robot 'Styx' with, though the two had a falling out. Team History

Following the events in the Ruins both Medusa and Styx were visited in their dream(s) (do androids dream of electric sheep?) by an entity calling itself the 'God of Rock' and were given new abilities. Styx has developed a craving for blood that he cannot understand, and Medusa has been given "new responsibilities" alongside a new set of magical powers.

Rock on, you two. Rock on!

The Bard & The War Forged

Medusa and Styx stood near the back of the room during the briefing, the machine focused on getting all the details of the mission while his maker observed the other sods in the room who decided to take up the job.

Their commander, who could only be described as a futuristic amazonian, caught Medusa's eye, she admired her strength, and enjoyed that she stood several inches taller than her second in command.

When the briefing ended she leaned forward -- they wanted introductions but not one person had yet spoken up.

MEDUSA: Might as well break the ice...

She took two steps forward, and started.

MEDUSA: Oi! Name's Medusa. This is scrap heap is Styx. Introduce yourself to them.

STYX: I am Styx.

MEDUSA: Guess he's feeling shy today. Anyways, if you don't know us, I'm a bit insulted, but we've got time to change that. Now, we're all here for the same reason, we saw the chance to earn a piece or two just by killing some [expletive] were-wolves--

STYX: Li'thzergians.

MEDUSA: --right, Lizard-a-gens. Now, as far as strengths go Styx here is built to take and dish out punishment in close quarters. As for me--

Her neon-pink mowhawk ignites.

MEDUSA: --got my hair. Psychokinetic they say. Razor sharp. Can grow longer right-quick if I need it to, good for stabbing, slicing, cutting, poking, prodding, and sticking. Now, Styx, how'dya think we'd best be used here?

STYX: I would be strongest on the front lines; you are a mid-range combatant. I hesitate to nominate you for the leadership position for second squad -- intelligent, but reckless. Also, you might rub them the wrong--

MEDUSA: What he's trying to say is I'm a personality. Now, I'm willing to do what needs doing, but, truth be told, if it comes down to your life or my life, chances are I'm going to go with my life. No offense to you lot but we've all just met now. Personally, if I had my say, Styx and I would prefer going with the big lady, and I'm sure we're not the only ones, eh?

She looks at some of the soldiers in the room, surely she can't be the only one.

MEDUSA: Anyways -- that's it for us. I'm sure you're all dying to get a word out now so I'll hush up and let you get to it.

With that Medusa retreats back to the wall, leaning against it with Styx by her side. She didn't know what she was getting into, but she hoped the idiots she was getting into it with weren't going to be as hopeless as some of them looked in this moment.

People Watching

Unable to find the commander for their upcoming mission both Medusa and Styx decide to head to the market to laugh at all the poor sods who decide to spend money on the items currently for sale.

@floopay - Not much my folks want to do in-character at this point. We'll just wait for the mission while loitering.

No Place Like Home (Medusa Post #2)

Medusa stood in the central plaza listening in on several conversations, from this she learns of a variety of rumors regarding the attack. She also heard that The Automatons had put themselves for hire up on the Mercenary Board.

MEDUSA: Hah, so they sold-out already? That didn't take long.

She reached down into her pocket to grab a smoke --

MEDUSA: What the...?

-- and found nothing. She began patting all of her pockets with zero success.

MEDUSA: 'Fer Christ's sake, been here no more than ten minutes and some bastard's already groped my pockets?

She left out a heavy sigh and sat down on a bench, waiting for Styx. Eventually the big lug made his way into the plaza and she called him over.

MEDUSA: Oi! Tin Head! Over here!

Styx acknowledged her and headed her way. When the two were reunited they made their way to a nearby pub to discuss any job prospects.

MEDUSA: So, what'da see? Anything good?

STYX: Several decent jobs -- include a trip to Tulis, a trip to the Shifting Sands, a stealth mission, and a combat mission in the ruins.

MEDUSA: Tulis is a no-go, and I'm not lookin' to get lost in the sands. You said they've got a combat mission in the ruins, eh? Some jack-a-nape decided to go shopping in my pockets, took my pack of cigs and some of my picks. I'm right pissed, y'know? Need to get this aggression out.

STYX: Would you like to go sign up for the mission?

MEDUSA: Better than being in this rotten town. Didn't take long to remember why we left it the last time, bunch of rotten nobodies here. So, who're we lookin' for?

STYX: Adori Falshee. She is commanding this mission.

Medusa looks at the briefing that Styx had recorded, admiring the picture of the commander.

MEDUSA: Adori, eh? I'll never turn down a mission led by a gal. Looks right tough, doesn't she? You love to see it. Well, lets get to it then, we've got work to do!

The two leave the bar and seek out Adori Falshee so that they can sign up for the 'Restlessness in the Ruins' mission.

TLDR:

  • Medusa noted the gossip she heard around town, laughed at The Automatons being sell-outs.
  • Medusa got pissed that some of her items were stolen, met up with Styx and discussed job prospects.
  • The two decided to seek out Adori Falshee to sign up for the 'Restlessness in the Ruins' mission.

That's it for this advancement!
