CW Kapiushon Respect Thread

No Caption Provided

Note: This respect thread was initially intended to be a sub section of the main Green Arrow respect thread, which will be released sometime in the not too distant future. Since the Kapiushon is used a lot on the battle forum as his own character, I've decided to release this as it's own separate thing. Kapiushon is the final form of Oliver's 5 year journey in hell, so this is essentially a Flashback respect thread.

Note: This is an unfinished project. I will fix formatting errors and some of the links.

Combat ability

When Oliver first arrived on Lian Yu, he was a completely incompetent fighter, but under the guidance of Yao Fei, Shado, Slade Wilson, Argus and Talia al Ghul, he was transformed into someone else, into something else.

His first real experience in close quarters training is with Slade Wilson, who teaches him escrima, or stick fighting. This goes to show just how incompetent and ill prepared Oliver was in the beginning, but it's also a nice measuring point for his growth over the course of the series.

Towards the end of his first year on Lian Yu, we can already see that he has picked up on Slade's teachings, as Oliver perfectly replicates a move that was taught to him by Slade in their first training session.

No Caption Provided

By his second year on the Island, he and Slade go through the very same stick fighting routine as they did last year. This time, we can see the tremendous growth in Oliver's performance.

Oliver's skill gradually improves during the course of his second year on Lian Yu:

On to the slightly more impressive showings. In his third year of his 5 year journey, he encounters a skilled individual in the streets of Hong Kong. This is a great display of skill from Oliver, even is the fight was inconclusive.

Defeats a much larger opponent in an underground fighting tournament in Russia.

It was later revealed that the fight was fixed, and not in Oliver's favor. He was intentionally mismatched against the Bratva top earner, and was expected to lose the fight.

No Caption Provided

In Oliver's ultimate test on his 5 year journey, he is faced off against Kovar, a super-humanly strong opponent. The first of his two fights with Kovar is probably the most impressive from a technical standpoint, as both opponents show of a variety of locks, traps and take downs.

The last fight is a great example to showcase Oliver's strength, determination and ruthlessness, as he finishes Kovar once and for all.

Something Oliver specializes in is melee fighting, whether it be with a knife or his bow. Slade's stick fighting arguably laid the foundation for Oliver's abilities as a melee fighter.

Great showcase of his skill with a knife as he beats Baron Reiter's right hand man, Conklin.

No Caption Provided

Takes down 3 men with a single rush, stabs one of them in the face, slits the throat of the next one and stabs the final one in the chest.

Uses his bow to easily beat 3 thugs in close quarters.

Similar situation but this time he gets the jump on three armed police officers.

No Caption Provided

Physicals

Oliver's durability is one of his main assets as a fighter. From the beginning he has been extremely hard to put down, and could therefore hang with opponents way above his class. Probably best demonstrated by how Oliver as a rookie was able to hang in there with Slade Wilson, who was enhanced by mirakuru.

He could also go toe to toe with totem enhanced Reiter and Tatiana due to his extraordinary durability. He could tank a barrage of punches, throws and telekinetic pushes, similar to this:

Oliver can take an extreme amount of torture.

Speed

Dodges a throwing knife
Dodges a throwing knife

Catches an arrow fired from behind.

Strength

Shado teaches Oliver to slap water, which Oliver finds completely useless. It goes to show that he was taught that way of slapping water, to be prepared for drawing his bow, with a draw weight of 150 lbs.

Chokeslams a man against a wall:

No Caption Provided

Push kicks Kovar through a door that was closed with chains.

No Caption Provided
No Caption Provided

Sweeps the leg of a man to send him flying and launches another one to the roof with a toss.

Awareness

Senses a man coming from behind and quickly turns on him

Stealth

Marksman ability

Shado lays the foundation of Oliver's archery ability. He can't even hit a stationary target in the beginning.

At the end of the first year he has his first real archery showing. Shado's life depends on this being an accurate shot.

No Caption Provided

During the early half of the second season Oliver is developing into a very competent archer, capable of hitting bullseyes while being on the move.

He is now at this point also capable of hitting targets at great distances, even taking the wind into consideration.

Hits a couple of 30 meter shots. (average width of a hockey field)

No Caption Provided

Oliver is also a master of mixing archery into his close quarters fights, as he is fast enough on the draw to fire an arrow at almost any moment.

Fires an arrow while mid air to hit a merc, and fires another while landing.

No Caption Provided
No Caption Provided

Fast enough on the draw to fire 2 arrows in less than a second.

No Caption Provided

Outdraws Kovar's men after they are given the order to shoot, even if they have Oliver at gun point.

No Caption Provided

Fires 3 arrows in 1.5 seconds to take out 3 bratva members.

No Caption Provided

Gunplay

Oliver is extremely versatile, not only is he skilled with a bow, he is also incredibly skilled with a gun. He got most of his experience with guns during his ARGUS missions and in his time with the Bratva.

Disarms a high ranking Bratva member and kills another 3 members with his gun.

Goes completely John Wick, and takes out 13 (!) men. He even disarms a thug mid fight and continues to use his gun as he has more bullets in his clip.

Hits a lock on a cell door perfectly.

CW Gorilla Grodd Respect Thread

No Caption Provided

Gorilla Grodd is a silver-back gorilla that was experimented on by S.T.A.R. Labs. After being exposed to the energy from the particle accelerator, Grodd then escaped his cage and developed powerful psychic abilities.

Make America Grodd again

Gorilla Grodd

After Grodd was struck by the energy of the particle accelerator explosion but also due to all the drugs Eiling injected him with, this altered his DNA and supercharged his cells, augmenting his physiology into well-beyond normal gorilla condition. Grodd is capable of performing extraordinary physical feats.

Strength

Grodd is effortlessly able to pick up humans and rag doll them around.

No Caption Provided
Throws Barry through a brick wall
Throws Barry through a brick wall

Grodd is able to effortlessly throw a forklift truck at King Shark with one hand. The average forklift weighs about 9,000 lbs. Judging by how casually Grodd did this, it's safe to say that this is far from his upper limit as far as strength is concerned.

No Caption Provided

Grodd also possesses phenomenal striking strength, as he is able to launch human beings great distances and kill people with a single punch.

Launches Barry over 50 ft.

Grodd has even been shown strong enough to resist the gravitational pull of a breach and a fully powered speed canon. It was clear on team Flash's faces that they thought this was a remarkable feat and was shocked by Grodd's strength.

No Caption Provided

Combat

Gorilla Grodd is very skilled in combat, as he is able to go toe to toe against a way physically superior opponent in Solovar. He displays decent knowledge on martial arts throughout the fight and mastery of shield and spear in combat.

No Caption Provided

Defeats a totem bearer that channels the power of a gorilla.

Grodd also shown himself to be a peer to King Shark in combat. Grodd gains the upper hand against King Shark in their fight, and King Shark needs an amp to defeat him.

Durability

Grodd has tanked fire from Heatwave's heatgun on multiple occasions. The fire burns through is fur, but doesn't seem to hurt him a lot, it seems to make him more angry if anything.

Fire... How primitive.

Grodd has tanked a barrage of speed punches by the Flash and remained unaffected.

Grodd even tanked a supersonic punch that sent him flying about 20 ft. towards a ledge, and then the fall of the ledge, which I estimate to be over 50 ft. down.

In Legends 3x17, Grodd survives being launched hundreds of feet by the earth totem.

Physicals

Jumps through a wall and falls an incredible distance and remains unaffected by the fall.

Speed

Grodd is despite his size, super agile and can scale buildings with ease.

No Caption Provided

Grodd was also able to keep up with the Flash while tracking him through the city.

Grodd's reaction speed is quite remarkable as he has caught a supersonic punch. I repeat, he has caught a supersonic punch.

No Caption Provided

Telepathy

With the power to send neurological signals beyond himself and into others, Grodd gained mental-manipulation powers. Grodd most commonly uses this as a means to talk to others. He can also control humans that are near him like puppets and maintain the control for prolonged periods of time. For offensive purposes, Grodd can overwhelm the minds of his enemies with his own negative memories and severely disorient and cripple them. Such attacks also can be projected via those under mind-control.

Grodd can access the powers of meta humans while controlling them. Grodd can also mind control multiple people at once.

Team Flash describing how Grodd's powers work.

Inflicts crippling pain on Barry with his TP.

No Caption Provided

Grodd can take control over a persons body, without taking complete control over their mind. In his fight against the totem bearer referenced earlier, he completely freezes her muscles, rendering her unable to move. In this next situation Grodd has Joe turn a gun on himself and there is nothing Joe can do to stop it.

No Caption Provided

Grodd can also use his TP to detect the minds of others, he can also detect their emotions and feelings. His TP can also be used as a mental shield, as he is able to prevent other telepathy from entering his mind. Nora also comments on how he can use his psychic abilities to conceal his location and can't be found by satellites.

Grodd is not required to be in the mind of the person he controls at all times. The single second Argus' powering dempning shut down, was enough for Grodd to put instructions in a guards head to free him.

Grodd can use the people he mind controls as spies, as he can see what they see and feel what they feel. Grodd has on multiple occasions used this ability to scout an area to know if it's safe.

Intellect

Grodd's most noticeable and dangerous trait is his high intellect, making him a threat even to humanity and other meta-humans like the Flash. In 2015, after escaping S.T.A.R. Labs, Grodd went and lived in the sewers and started making math equations on the walls of his sewer home, with his intelligence rapidly expanding. Said intellect include changing the direction of Barry's sonic punch. Very calculating and methodical in every action he takes. He is able to plan for every plausible detail several steps ahead, a trait he learned from Eobard. By 2017, he was able to construct a plan in which helped him take control of Gorilla City and all of his other fellow Gorilla-kind. He also proved to be a strong leader of Gorilla City once Solovar lost his position.

Just how fast is CW Oliver Queen?

This thread will be dedicated to the speed of Oliver Queen. Just a warning before you go ahead and have a read through.

Don't read this thread if you can't take a joke.

Movement speed

We will have to find a base feat of what to start of with here. In this scene Oliver chases down an attacker on motorcycle.

Judging from how much time the motorcycle spent travelling this distance, which I have through my own formula calculated to be 15 meters, I have come to the conclusion that the motorcycle is driving at 60 km/h

Oliver states later that episode that he was almost fast enough to track down the attacker on the motorcycle. Since I have calculated that the motorcycle was traveling at speeds of 60 km/h, it's safe to say that Oliver ran at a speed of 59 km/h, since 59 is almost 60.

Now we have a nice basis for his traveling speed.

In this scene Quentin has Oliver at gun point in an open area with no cover for Ollie.

No Caption Provided

Ollie distracts Quentin and after 2.8 seconds he is completely gone.

No Caption Provided

I have calculated that it is approximately 15 meters, because it looks like it is at least more than 5 meters, from the place Oliver is standing to the first object he can hide behind,. To move 15 meters in 2.8 seconds, Oliver would have to move very fast, if not very, very fast!

This puts his movement speed at least at very fast levels. Maybe even very, very fast on a good day. That is fast. But wait there is more.

In the most recent crossover, time is slowed down to the point where Superman appears as a statue.

No Caption Provided

Oliver is still able to move in real time, which puts him at speeds way above CW Superman. Before you haters call this a one off outlier, Oliver was able to draw a flechette in real time while the rest was slow motion. This happened in the pilot. So Oliver is at least faster than slow motion.

No Caption Provided

I will conclude his movement speed to be very, very fast+

Reaction Speed

We also need a good basis for his reaction speed. The first feat I would like to present is Oliver reacting to an incoming blitz from Flash, Barry was about mach 0.8 at this time.

No Caption Provided

This is an ok base feat just to establish the fact that Oliver is in the same ballpark as speedsters.

We can kick it up a notch but still deal with some low end feats of Oliver. Here he clearly dodges a bullet shot from behind.

No Caption Provided

We can scale that off the fact that Savitar could not dodge a bullet from behind.

According to MoviePilot, Barry was mach 13 at the time he fought Savitar and Savitar was clearly faster. So Savitar was likely at least mach 14.56, which means Oliver's reaction speed must be well above that. This is a good start.

Here we have Oliver dodging heatvision from Overgirl.

No Caption Provided

The creators of the DCEU confirmed that Superman's heatvision was a beam of light and not energy. This means that heatvision travels as fast as light. Since one live action Kryptonian is confirmed to have heatvision which is beams of light, it's safe to say that it's the case in the CW as well. Cuz live action continuity.

This puts Oliver's reaction speed at least at FTL levels.

Oliver's perception of speed

In this scene we have Reverse Flash fighting the Flash. Oliver aims in on them when they move as blurs for the naked eye. We can also clearly see in the video that Oliver tracks Reverse Flash with his eyes and with his bow, as he ask Barry to move out of the way.

No Caption Provided

So Oliver can clearly track speedsters at full speed. It is very evident when watching the video

In this scene Oliver suggest that Barry can speed read his wedding vows. Oliver would never suggest such a thing if he couldn't be able to keep up with it himself. Cuz why would he? He clearly just forgot that not all of the guests would be able to understand Barry, cuz Oliver doesn't concern himself with slow ass people such as Wally West.

Oliver clearly perceives time as a speedster perceives time.

After putting all of my calculations into a very advanced algorithm, I have concluded with the fact that Oliver is fast as hell.

CW King Shark Respect Thread

No Caption Provided

Short into to the character

Shay Lamden was a marine biologist from Earth-2. Affected by the particle accelerator, he mutated into grotesque human-shark hybrid. He was sent to Earth-1 by Zoom to kill Flash. His first attempt was foiled by Harrison Wells of Earth-2. He was imprisoned at ARGUS, but escaped by playing dead. He then tracked Barry to the West House, but the ensuing fight was cut short. The search by ARGUS and Flash to locate him was mostly unsuccessful at first, with two ARGUS agents being eaten by KS. Eventually he was found and defeated by Flash. He was captured by ARGUS again. The new director used him to guard a rare power source of a Dominator ship. Barry came to need it for a weapon to be used against Savitar, so he, with the help of Captain Cold, snuck into the facility and stole the power source, escaping from King shark on the way out (though they got caught on the way put).

King Shark's movement speed is also really impressive. He is able to leave a couple of SUV's behind him while running on land. King Shark is even faster in the ocean. He states himself that he is faster than Barry while he is in the ocean.

King Shark has very good reactions as well, evident by the fact that he is able to bullet time against Joe. He is shot in the eye and quickly raises his arm to block of the next incoming bullets.

Strength

As a base feat for King Shark's strength we can use his feat of casually lifting Barry with one hand and momentarily incap him with applying pressure to him while holding him. This was all done very casual.

Miscellaneous

King Shark can breath on both land and sea, he has a shark like appearance, but his DNA is human. King Shark has a very sharp sense of smell as he is able to smell the Flash and track him down.

He is also fairly smart for being part shark, as he displays by playing dead and tricking the ARGUS agents to escape captivity.

CW Yao Fei Respect Thread

No Caption Provided

Short intro to the character

Yao Fei was the father of Mei and the late Shado, and was one of the former mentors (in fact the first) and good friend of Oliver Queen. Yao Fei did his best to always protect and look out for his friends Oliver, Slade Wilson and his daughter Shado. He was a prisoner on the island of Lian Yu. He was believed to be extremely dangerous by the Chinese government, a fact proven true as only people too dangerous to society and too hard to hold prisoner, are sent to the nearly inhospitable island. It was later revealed by his daughter that the Chinese military forced him to be their scapegoat in massacring innocent people, and that he was sent to the island for crimes he did not commit. He was a student of Talia al Ghul.

Archery

Yao Fei was Oliver's first mentor, and the first to teach him about archery. Yao Fei is seen training Oliver on multiple occasions.

Yao Fei was a great hunter and often comes back to his hideout with animals that he has killed on the island. Here we get to see Yao Fei hit shoot a rabbit.

No Caption Provided

Yao Fei was also extremely skilled in implementing is archery into combat situations. Yao Fei shoots the strips that is tied around Oliver's hands, freeing him, then he rapidly shoots a second arrow perfectly aimed at Wintergreen's eye.

No Caption Provided

Yao Fei is extremely quick on the draw as he is able to draw and fire an arrow mid-combat against Wintergreen.

No Caption Provided

Yao Fei is also seen tagging Oliver from a long distance.

Combat skills

Yao Fei was extremely skilled in h2h combat, fighting evenly with Wintergreen, who was on Slade's level. One of Yao Fei's great strength are his ability to manipulate human weak spots and pressure points. He is effortlessly able to flip Oliver over by manipulating his joints. After seemingly killing Oliver, it is revealed that he used a pressure point to kick start Oliver's pulse again.

Yao Fei fights Oliver with great ease and disposes of him with no trouble what so ever. Yao Fei displays great agility throughout the short lived fight.

Yao Fei was able to fight one of Fyer's mercs with handcuffed, by performing a rolling armbar.

Yao Fei is able to get the upper hand in a fight against Wintergreen, displaying some of the best practical h2h skill to date in the Arrowverse.

Yao Fei showcases a great flying omoplata, which Oliver also performs at a later stage, this showcases just how influential Yao Fei was in Oliver's training.

No Caption Provided

Yao Fei fights evenly with Wintergreen on another occasion, but is eventually bested.

Yao Fei is despite of his lacking physicals a great fighter. What he lacks for in strength, he makes up for in speed, skill and his knowledge on human weak spots.

Top 15 marksmen in the MCU/CW

There are a lot of great marksmen in the MCU and CW universes, I'm going to rank them to the best of my ability. I'll take accuracy, draw speed, long range and short range capabilities into consideration. I'm going to break the term marksman up into three categories, to try to determine who the most versatile and best overall marksman is. The categories I'm doing to break this down into are; gunplay, throwing projectiles and other specialties. Archery, energy weapons and any unorthodox firearm belongs to the last category. I'll try to rank each character on a scale from 1-10 in each of the 3 categories.

CW Composite League Ninja respect thread

No Caption Provided

The League of Assassins are often the laughing stock of live action fodder. This will be a thread to shine some light on how they were originally depicted in the earlier seasons of Arrow and what they were actually capable of.

It was an urban legend I heard about in Afghanistan from a tribal leader, he claimed there was an ancient sect of assassins, deadly warriors, who killed and vanished like ghosts.

Diggle

The League of Assassins was founded in 1013.[3] Its purpose is to hunt down and kill people deemed a danger to society and the world at large, and has done so for many years, resulting in thousands of deaths. All of its members go through a harsh and bitter course of training that leaves its trainees either dead or at the peak of human physical condition, so much so that they rarely feel pain itself. They are trained in the arts of swordsmanship, archery, stealth and killing in both the quickest and most discreet methods or the most painful and drawn out ways. They are also trained to be able to escape from any prison.

- Arrowverse Wiki

We were trained by the league, no prison can hold us.

Malcolm Merlyn

Combat

The League were depicted as great and lethal fighters in the earlier seasons of Arrow. Sara makes a remarkable comment on just how lethal and dangerous they are.

I was trained by the people who make the special forces look like a kindergarten class.

Sara to Diggle

This section will focus both on their h2h abilities as well as their archery.

One fodder League ninja was actually keeping up with Oliver and Sara simultaneously, he even got the better of Sara and a cheap shot from Lance was needed to subdue him.

No Caption Provided

In Sara and Oliver's second encounter with Al-Owal, Sara is attacked by two league ninjas and eventually she needs help from Oliver as the assassins are able to match her skills and tag her with their weapons.

An assassin disarms and deals with Lyla Michaels in close quarters, she is a decently skilled combatant herself.

An Assassin takes out over half a dozen drug dealers armed with machine guns with no problem.

The assassins are essential in helping Oliver deal with Slade's mirakuru army, the assassins deal with an entire army of soldiers, showcasing great archery skill.

Chase, who wasn't a high ranking league member, was able to whoop both Roy and Thea's asses. One could argue that since he was a named assassin he shouldn't really count as fodder. But he should be representative of your average fodder ninja, named or not.

Speed

Speed is a key element of being a ninja, and the League members are ridiculously quick.
