The "new" BoTW threads weren't getting quite as many responses as I'd hoped, and most of the responses were one word answers. I don't really see the point, considering that I am very busy and it's a lot of work.
A Collector of Cities vs. an Android Conqueror! A Superman Foe vs. an Avengers Villain! 12th level intelligence vs. calculating robotics! All this was showcased in TNBB's first Battle of the Week, Ultron vs. Brainiac!
Some view Marvel and DC on opposite ends of the "success spectrum" when it comes to movies, with Marvel being prosperous and DC being... less than prosperous. BRAINIAC!
That's right, Superman's foe took down Ultron in a long and tiring fight. Voters seem to think that neither had the edge in physical force, due to Ultron's durability and Brainiac's speed. However, they apparently believed that Ultron has multiple bodies and drones that he could use to his advantage, Brainiac's skull ship and other tech would be too much for him to handle.
Understandably, it was extremely close. Seven percent said it was too close to call. Both are extremely advanced beings, possessing extremely powerful tech in addition to awesome physical powers. Both have defeated teams such as the Avengers in Ultron's case and the Earth-2 Justice League in Brainiac's case.
But ultimately, Brainiac got 50% of the votes, while Ultron only got 44%. Let's hear some arguments from both sides...

It is safe to say that if given the option it is likely that one or the other is going to fall back as this is not a battle decided by in a physical fight.
Both of them a smart enough to know that a physical fight won't cut it...
Ultron
Ultron's more advanced drones can give the avengers hell
Ultron himself beats the avengers (he only lost due to the anti-metal incident)
Brainiac
Brainiac less advanced probes can slaughter Krytonian's...
then we have Brainiac's other probes (it was retconned so that every Brainiac Supes has encountered has in fact been a probe)...

Doomsday brainaic (don't believe this counts as 1 time amp but it may)

Milton persistently mind raped and even physically dominated supes, Doomsday soloed the JLA, in his orginal body he smacked around Supes with no problem, In his new original body he was smacking around kryptonians like nothing...
Then of course we have his ship...
Destroys a sun and protects itself from it, survives what kills dozens of krytonians.
So i wouldn't put stock in a 1v1 fight being decisive, especially not when Brainiac has his ship and definatly not when we consider that he was in possession of Doomsday's body at one point.
So what it comes down too?... Intelligence!
It really comes down to who can outplay the other. At base i'd say Brainiac has a decisive tech advantage with his ship and all his other advanced probes.
Don't get me wrong Ultron has a hell of a lot too utilize...
Ronan and Super Skrull elect to flee from the Phlanx forces
The Phlanx could conquer the Kree's entire empire including all their tech in hours...
But so does Brainiac...
Before i get into this i would like to point out Brainiac is almost certainly smarter than Ultron...
Brainiac has a 12th level intellect making him the smartest person in the universe (besides 1 or 2 with 12th level intellects)
Brainiac has access to enough omega spires to not only completly decimate earth but multiple other planets at a command.
and of course we have him outplaying Brainiac 2 and 3 (bear in mind 2 has a 10th level intellect)...
He captured pulsar stargrave (a sentient supercomputer akin to that seen in the 853rd century solaris) among brainiac 3's most advanced if not his most advanced tech who again possess a intellect like Brainiac 2 and most likely above. He then proceeded to begin cracking into Pulsar and even though Brainiac 2 and 3 tried to outplay him he proceeded to beat them both with his own tech and intellect.
Conclusion
Both combatants are physically too level for any sort of viable or conclusive result to be determined in that department and when it comes to armies and tech the Phlanx forces are formidable and technologically very advanced but equally so is Brainiac and his army. Both Ultron and Brainiac are too equally matched in almost all departments except for intelligence which is where Brainiac will truly exceed his opponent. When it comes to intellect Brainiac is as high as you can get in the entire DC universe and his feats outmaneuvering 2 beings of near equal intellect to me proves that he has what it takes to combine his tech, knowledge (aquired from assimilating 1000's of worlds tech and knowledge inlcuiding entire alien civilizations and empires), and intellect will allow him to edge a slight advantage.
Verdict- Brainiac in a very close battle...

Yeah, my record wasn't great and I got my ass handed to me regularly, but that phase was to learn the art of debate and now I believe I'm a much better debater.
